I just find if I sit down at the computer, it eats up my time like crazy. Things don't get done and I never to get to bed on time!! I try to comment back to people who leave me one. My problem is that I like to get comments so I'm so busy joining in on "parties" that I don't get to just post things I want to say! I guess because I don't get many comments if I'm not in a group in a "party"! I guess I need someone out there listening. I...Hi Debbie, I could have written that letter too! I have been blogging since the end of March and I'm exhausted keeping up as well. Like you, I visit and comment on each comment I receive and I also visit many blogs and leave comments. I also have noticed that on some parties I never see the host either. I love blogging and I love the community of bloggers and have often wondered many of the same questions. The past two weeks have been very busy for me and it's getting crazier. We are in the process of purchasing a home on the Jersey shores and it wasn't anything we planned to do. Our life has turned upside down in 2 days. We went away for a weekend and now are buying a house, selling ours and moving, what? Ya, that is what we are saying, just crazy. So I have had no choice but to pull back on posting this week and part of last. I love blogging and visiting everyone and have received a lot of support and made so many friends. I love you, your energy, your honesty and sense of humor. You crack me up and make me smile. I've missed you this week and am way behind on your posts for the first time since I first found you. I will continue to blog and visit when I can and of course leave comments when I visit. You will always have us following you; we'd be lost without you. Go slow, take it easy and enjoy your family and blog when you can. We will be here waiting for you! You're the best and I really care for you even though we have never met in person. You have charisma, and you will go far in blog land.
Big Hugz,
KimFLOWERSHOPGURLhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11060222945679577705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-61420426135401968062010-06-17T22:32:15.072-04:002010-06-17T22:32:15.072-04:00I follow so many blogs but I get behind so easily ...I follow so many blogs but I get behind so easily on just trying to keep up. I comment on a lot of blogs and I always love if they comment back to me but a lot of the bigger ones never do. I don't really blame them though- they get hundreds of comments, I'm sure they don't have time!

I don't have many followers, and not sure how much traffic actually, but if someone comments on my blog, I try to comment back to them somewhere. Sometimes I just do it on my post, not sure if they ever see it, or I will go to their blog and comment. I LOVE to receive comments so I try to give back and share some love as well.

I agree that if someone is linking up to your party- as a host it is only proper to at least say hello. Would you ignore your guests at your house? Don't think so! lolAllison {A Glimpse Inside}https://www.blogger.com/profile/07883981389206657388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-25381443072719348522010-06-17T19:19:43.177-04:002010-06-17T19:19:43.177-04:00This is such a difficult subject and I've seen...This is such a difficult subject and I've seen so many bloggers struggle with what to do about it.

I guess I blog because I've always loved to write, so this is a creative outlet for me. I do from time to time struggle with keeping up and I think that's so sad. Why, if this is a creative outlet for me, do I have to struggle & feel obligated to do it? (I was once an avid scrapbooker and have struggled with that same question there and still do.) If it's supposed to be fun, why have I turned it into a chore?

I do my best to get around to all the blogs I can. Whether I should visit every single blogger who comments on my blog, is the million dollar question! If I have time, I do, but that isn't very often. I think there are some people in blogland that you just take to and feel a "kindredness" with. (Is that even a word?) Those are the blogs that I tend to comment on over and over again otherwise I may visit, but not comment unless the topic interests me.

I wonder sometimes, is it loyalty that we're really struggling with here?

I guess this topic can be talked about until we're all blue in the face and I doubt we'll ever come up with anything concrete.

All this being said, I want to say that you have always been very sweet & gracious everytime you've commented on my blog and I thank you for that.Ginahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00919946471260198201noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-89283114217170015662010-06-17T16:00:30.495-04:002010-06-17T16:00:30.495-04:00I'm so happy to see you've taken the day o...I'm so happy to see you've taken the day off. At least the ones that are more than "thats cute". Some blogs are really important and inspiring to me and I will visit them every day whether they leave comments for me or not. I figure if I am gaining something just from being inspired then I don't need much more.
It is highly annoying to me at times when I leave comments with questions and never get a response. It is also annoying when I sign up to follow a blog and then that blogger comes to my blog repeatedly and leaves comments, but does not sign up to follow my blog. They could just be forgetting or not thinking of it, but it kinda annoys me.
Just do what you gotta do and those that appreciate you and love you will keep coming back for more :) Those that matter will understand and those that don't understand aren't worth your time anyway right?Kelle Damehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10145503884895343829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-80575570437395197912010-06-17T14:38:02.158-04:002010-06-17T14:38:02.158-04:00I will comment from the perspective of not having ...I will comment from the perspective of not having many comments to my blog, so I do not know what it is like to have to get back to everyone. So, I can comment on "waiting for a reply." #1: I am so happy to view all of the information and cruise around on a blog for FREE!; #2: If I actually have a question, and you do not manage to get back to me, I will ask again later if it is really that important; #3: I want bloggers to ENJOY THEMSELVES; #4: It is (really) nice to have my blog visited -But, if you do not come take a look -I DO NOT REALLY CARE BECAUSE IT IS ALL ABOUT FUN - NOT OBLIGATION. :) Hope this helps!Shelly @Crafty Creative Studiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00038522779744986291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-5856035491470289482010-06-17T14:15:56.006-04:002010-06-17T14:15:56.006-04:00Hi Debbie!
Wow girl, you ahve hit upon a subject ...Hi Debbie!

Wow girl, you ahve hit upon a subject we are all struggling with. But first I must stand up and applaud you regarding the "linky party and lack of hostess visiting when you link up to their party"!!!!

I just had this conversation with a bloggy friend last night at a matter of fact!

I join a lot of parties. I love them. I get introduced to a lot of new blogs out there and so enjoy meeting new people. However, I am starting to cull out the bloggers who host these parties and then never visit you or the linked post you added to their party. If you are going to host a party, visiting your guests are a MUST IMO!!

You Deb, are a doll! You have always vistited me when I link to your party and thank me for linking up! Perfect hostess skills!

As far as commenting on every post or on the comments you get, this has been a huge struggle for me. I love my comments and all the fantastic people who take the time out of their busy schedules to visit me.

I have been really trying to work out a time frame for this problem. What I have been doing lately, and this is just my way of doing it, no right or wrong system here, every morning when I get my cup of coffee I spend one hour visiting the people who have left me comments on my most recent post. After I have done that, I go to the parties that I linked up and visit as many folks as I can in that remaining hour.

I found myself dedicate way too much time to visiting blogs and commenting. I was neglecting other important things going on in my life.

Now, with that said, I still, whenever I have some time, go and visit other blogs. I just get so many wonderful ideas or smiles from all of you.Diann @ The Thrifty Groovehttp://thethriftygroove.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-59185793736236562882010-06-17T13:57:47.597-04:002010-06-17T13:57:47.597-04:00I mainly blog because I like to be creative in a w...I mainly blog because I like to be creative in a way which has nothing whatsoever to do with work; if work is mentioned at all, it is by choice.
Yes, it is lovely to have followers and comments, but I hope that people would only comment if they feel a need to respond to what they have read or seen on my post. I don't want people to comment because they feel obliged to!

The only blogging party I participate in regularly is Alphabe-Thursday (with a very occasional photo-Friday), so most of the week, keeping up with the blogs I follow is easy. On Thursdays, I just try to visit as many blogs as I can and always to visit all of those who visit me, because I think that is the polite thing to do.

It is a tricky one because reading 40+ blogs can be very time consuming, but I do my best.Hhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13357761230206692089noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-30952596889879340372010-06-17T13:37:13.500-04:002010-06-17T13:37:13.500-04:00While my blog does not EVEN begin to get the amoun...While my blog does not EVEN begin to get the amount of traffic that yours does, I still find myself overwhelmed sometimes with commenting. This may sound kind of mean, but sometimes I'll get a comment on my blog and I'll visit their blog back and I feel they are just phishing for comments. So I comment back when I feel I have the time. I comment on blogs when I really love the content of the post, I visit all the blogs that come to visit me and give comments back when I feel they deserve them, and I give credit to people who make my blog thrive. I've learned blogging is my free stress relief, I'm not going to let it add stress by needing to comment on everyone. As long as I'm visiting them, I feel good.Bechttp://www.theiheartblog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-81424942675105861002010-06-17T12:19:37.832-04:002010-06-17T12:19:37.832-04:00Well Debbiedoos, you know I love you and if you co...Well Debbiedoos, you know I love you and if you comment on my blog great if you don't great, I still love you. I have a lot of time on my hands now with the kids gone and in a cast so blogging is the only thing I can do. Even with that said, I still don't leave a comment on everyones post. If I don't think it warrants a comment I just don't. What I mean is if they leave a picture and it leaves me all inspired I might leave a comment but sometimes I don't. We women need to quit worrying about what others think. We need to blog for ourselves and be happy for that. Comments are fun perks. Blogging to me is just so I can get my quirky thoughts about life, decorating, my kids, my husband and anything else that strikes my fancy. It is more therapy than anything!1 Funky Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02423614215175688741noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-84752202638719458382010-06-17T09:56:52.643-04:002010-06-17T09:56:52.643-04:00I was a peeker. I have been unfollowed like mad recently too...could be my posting, could be I am not commenting as much...oh well...life, real life comes first as much as I love my bloggy life.Holly Lefevrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01682463489134875301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-92104589090858780382010-06-17T00:39:32.562-04:002010-06-17T00:39:32.562-04:00First of all Bampitt I want to follow you too, but...First of all Bampitt I want to follow you too, but like Debbie said you can't comment. I bet you have lots of people who have tried to follow you!

Debbie, your the bomb, I have it now! I have really kind of messed up, but it is not to late to fix it. I was trying diligently to read and comment on every blog I follow, but never replied when people commented on mine unless I was asked a question or there was something I wanted to comment back. So, how was a new blogger to know???? Debbie to the rescue!!!The Polka Dot Closethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04509900941899875184noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-5058794018654516322010-06-16T23:52:52.240-04:002010-06-16T23:52:52.240-04:00Debbie, I've watched your blog grow and grow a...Debbie, I've watched your blog grow and grow and I've often wondered just how you keep up!! I do so enjoy visiting with you and I love it when you stop by and leave me a comment...however, I'll keep right on visiting with you with or without comments! It's hard to keep up a blog...So... live your life and enjoy your precious family!!
A Faithful Follower,
~HollyHollyChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04141040714948385810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-57527657934995599092010-06-16T22:35:27.781-04:002010-06-16T22:35:27.781-04:00I have been blogging for two years and started my ...I have been blogging for two years and started my second blog this past Jan. and I do not have a lot of followers and/or comments. The reason I'm saying this is because I don't blog to receive comments...I blog because I like to write and take photos and originally I started my first blog as an extension of my etsy shop after closing down my retail shop. Then I continued to keep in touch with my family and to keep a virtual scrapbook to record our memories and happenings...without having to get out all my stuff to actually put together a book. Some day when I'm ready the everything I need will be here on my blog to "jog" my memory. My second blog is for inspiration and to raise awarness for my charity work. I post 3-5 times a week and only when I feel like it...not necesarily because I have to for an audience. If someone comments then I always acknowledge it with a response. I follow over 1,000 blogs a week with my google reader and leave comments regularly...but only when I am truly interested in the subject matter and NOT to get that person to come back to my blog. This comes across as being insincere and that was never my intention for blogging. It is just a fun way to stay connected with family and to meet some fantastic people who are mothers, fathers, artists, homemakers, designers, photographers, foodies...and on and on. I use to work full time and became unemployed but I maintained this amount of reading/commenting/writing on blogs even when I worked 50 hours a week and commuted 2 hours daily. For the record...I don't watch hardly any TV and even in the evenings when I'm sitting next to DH I use my mini-pc to read blogs and books. AS a new blogger you really need to ask yourself...what are my intentions in blogging? If you know what your expectations are from the outset then you will find the balance that you will need in all areas of your life...not just in blogging. Hope this helps, fondly RobertaRobertahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16493412205283777117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-39906924959720988132010-06-16T20:56:39.772-04:002010-06-16T20:56:39.772-04:00I remember we did touch on this a bit before. I do...I remember we did touch on this a bit before. I don't have as many fans as you so not a huge problem for me. I follow the blogs I want to follow because of their content. I don't follow anyone unless I WANT to. I only comment when I want to and I don't expect anyone to comment or visit me in return. You'll run into plenty of people who i'm sure expect otherwise but I started blogging for ME. I don't want it to be a huge commitment. You aren't going to be able to get to all of them. That's all there is to it. I'm sure you have the ones you've "clicked" with more than others. Those would be the ones I would focus on. By the way- i'm sure those are the same ones who don't expect anything from you - so when you do comment it's that much more special to them ;)Angiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15822191038497825833noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753991164004572883.post-4056953161733308332010-06-16T20:29:00.983-04:002010-06-16T20:29:00.983-04:00Just checking in to make sure you made it through ...Just checking in to make sure you made it through the day.
