It's OFFICIAL, We we were published!

Of course, I have been busting at the seams to share our experience with our publication in Country Woman magazine!
I could not be more pleased on their presentation, and representation  of our home and family!
COUNTRY WOMAN MAGAZINE
(online publication ready)
I am a thrifty gal by nature, and I love to change up per season, whether it be
with paint, or a thrifty goodwill find, as featured in their publication.

I would love if you ran out and bought a copy today. However, it does not hit newsstands until July 12th. If you are a subscriber to Country Woman, you will see it sometime this week. Let me just say, it is fabulous in large, glossy print. I just can't believe it is our house in a magazine.

What I will share with you today are some behind the scenes shots.
I spent two weeks non- stop, day and night cleaning everything from top to bottom.  If there is one bit of advise I can give anyone, that would be...DON'T bother killing yourself cleaning.
The way they stage, move things around and do the shots, were so unforeseen to me.
Like one little vignette shot they worked on for an hour.  This crew was FUN!
We all had a wonderful chemistry, and great energy together.
Mike even made them lunch and they sat at the pub and ate and chatted.

The crew: Richard Lee Johnson (photo's) in the red shoes, Elizabeth Demos photo stylist, and Heather Hawkins Hair and makeup.
I feel bad, I forgot the first fellows name, and I don't have his card, he worked along side Richard on photo's

They sure brought a lot of fresh flowers that I got to keep!
Thank you Country Woman Magazine for this wonderful opportunity.
I have said it before, and I will say it again.
You never know who is spying your blog. The editor told me she stumbled upon mine while looking for Holiday kitchens.

What a fabulous day!

Can I just say we had a wonderful day, wonderful experience, and I truly can't wait to share more....
Lucy on the other hand, well, let's just say, she is waiting for her day in the spotlight.
You see I am exhausted. My Mommy kept me in the room all day, because of the fact, I am so cute, and love to be around people, I tend to get in the way.
Someone could step on me, or something could have fallen on me. Well anyway that is OK, because guess where I am sleeping tonight?

YES indeed!
That nice fluffy white bed is calling my name. Yeah, so, don't feel too sorry for me.
( I can't believe I can really crawl in there and mess it all up..WHITE oh yeah)
I do have to share though with my parents, but I will make sure they get a good night sleep.  They are exhausted.
I love to sleep on Dad's head, he probably won't even notice!
You peeps best be getting ready to join my partay too!

Country Woman Magazine prepping, a thank you, and a big ole MOSS ball!

Are you confused over the title of this post?
Well you should be, it is all one big hodge podge of things combined in one.
You can only imagine the stress cleaning I have been doing to prepare for our publication in Country Woman Magazine.
Do I really need to clean the inside of my cabinets?
Well you never know, so I am anyhow.
I had a wonderful birthday celebration and have received so many wonderful presents this year.
I do every year, and really the best gift is the gift of life, family and friends.
But the perks that going along with a birthday  are pretty good I tell ya!
Love this new platter my Mom gifted me, it came with matching pitcher which was damaged during shipping, she called them and told them to get one out STAT I have Country Woman Magazine coming.

It is a gorgeous piece, and so full of color..thanks Mom! XO
One of my BF's bought me this awesome rooster candle sconce made out of a roof tile, looks like the art must have been baked on, not sure but it is cool, we love it, and found  a new home right away for it.

Then you have to check this out, and maybe try to make one yourself.
Same BF made these cool moss balls..all from natural moss, sticks and bark from her woods.
The only thing she bought was the Styrofoam ball from Michael's. She said it took her time to make it, as she had to hot glue every little thing. It is super cool!

All I have to do is keep it alive, by lightly watering it when it gets dry.
Our kitchen is a mixed array of vintage and modern rustic decor. This scale my Mom scored for us at her local antique shop, actually my Step Dad found it, and he done good! It is very unique and I have never seen another like it. Notice the knife holder...that was recently gifted to us from Mike's Dad.  I can't even begin to tell you all the cool things he has given us, I need another shed!

Vintage rooster salt and pepper shakers that were my husbands Grandmother's
New faucet I have been wanting for a long time now, finally Mr. Doo's caved in. It's really fun to do dishes now. NOT!
And nothing could have ended my Birthday any nicer than to receive this nice package from my Blogging friend Kathy from Never enough Thyme

Her daughter in-law Melanie makes these wonderful cookies, that I got to sample today. That was so sweet Kathy, and they were delish!
Thank you KATHY! It is so NOT necessary for you gals to send me gifts, or thank you's really, it's not
but I'm glad you did
I just want all you newbies, oldies alike to know for me starting the newbie party has been equally satisfying and rewarding.  I find more joy over watching you grow and connect with other bloggers. When I see it, it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, knowing I do  have part in it.
XOXO

LISA LEONARD giveaway
