Debbie,
This makes me cry remembering your grandfather. He was such a sweet soul and I will never forget the joy he showed us when our little boys used to jump on his bed:) Those were some fond memories and I am blessed to have met him! I'm sure his spirit is still around you even today.

My childhood memory is of my grandpa too. I miss him so much. When I was about 8 years old he let me polish his finger nails red one day. Grandpa worked in an engine plant and was razzed by all the other guys in the plant for his red nails. He didn't care. He kept that polish on until it just wore off. He was such a loving man. I was grandpa's girl :)

That is the coolest pic!!! I love old time photos and memorabilia. My grandma and grandpa on my dad's side was also extremely influential in my life...They owned an excavating company and lived on a ton of acreage in Kansas so, I grew up on alot of heavy machinery and around alot of DIY'rs. My husband drives heavy machinery and is a miner here in Kansas City...It is funny how things like that turn out:-) So, I would have to say that being around construction and riding on heavy equipment with my grandpa would be one of my fondest. I have miny flashbacks when I ride with my husband!

Well luvdsun at least you did not have to tweeze nose and ear hair...and yes I did that. Tomboy, my grandfather worked for the city dumps and would take me to drive the huge trucks.....not sure how I did not turn out tomboyish...although I am with you would not have a clue what to do with a girl...and I am a girlie girl, love fashion, makeup hair styles...etc......

It makes my mom crazy that I wear alot of black and steel toe boots, jeans, etc. But, my boys both think that it is the coolest thing that I am a tomboy and my husband says that that is why he liked me so, I guess it's not all that bad:)
