Ok that is not like the original sonny's chain sonny's???
Yes, do you have one?
i love the BBQ you took us to when we came to visit what was the name:)
Oh Norma, that is so funny, that is not BBQ!!! That is what I thought til I moved here, I am talking down home cooking smoker in the back of the place BBQ!!! When we where first moving here, that is what our agent told us, Sonny's is the best.....well since then we have tried dozens of locals, and I tell you,. I would imagine in your home town somewhere there is a BBQ place....some like vinegar based some like mustard base....I like both:)
I like my very own baby back ribs at home! Marinated in barbecue sauce and beer then put in a cooking bag and add water. Boil until soft. Then put on the grill to get it just slightly crispy on the outside. Brush with barbecue sauce every time you flip it on the grill! Yeah- Yummy!
There is a place called HILL OF BEANS. Actually it's a gas station but they have a smoker and every Tuesday they roast a pig. In the summer they have BIKE NIGHT and there are hundreds of bikers there to eat and listen to a live band. We have a Harley and my husband straps his little tank of oxygen on and off we go. Didn't know I was Harley Mama did you? Now Is that what you mean??
Now your talking Norma, now your talking BBQ! I love it. And Kristine your recipe sounds wonderful, how long do you marinate for?
ya that recipe sound awsome :)
well i see one of your topice is what makes a house a home .well i love to surround myself with things that bring smiles to my face and make me happy but the best feeling is when i have all my family together then i feel iam home no feeling can be that great:)
Debbie, it's me- LOL! My middle name is Kristine! I marinate overnight and boil for about 2 hours! Very soft- so be careful putting it on the grill!
OK:)
There is a place called Mick's barbeque that we stop at on the way to the North Ga. mountains or on our way to Cherokee, N.C. Their food is great!
Hemmingway, SC has the BEST barbeque on this side of the Mason Dixon line!!!
Ha! I found it! When having BBQ in southern states, I noticed that the BBQ is tangy, and the slaw is sweet. Here in Ohio, we prepare sweet BBQ, and tangy, creamy slaw. My brother-in-law always uses grape jelly in his BBQ sauce!
Thanks so much again for inviting me! I really like Bennet's in Pigeon Forge and Gatlingburg Tn. I, too, like Norma love Sonny's in Richmond. I'd LOVE to have some of that sweet tea right now! :-)
Goodness, I know I'm way late on this one. But I was born a Carolina girl and grew up eating here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/carolina-bar-b-que-new-ellenton
Now I live in Texas where BBQ is completely and totally different!
When I was preggo with my 1st kid I craved dry rubbed Memphis BBQ like nobody's business!
Where in SC are you living?I live in Baltimore now but was born and raised in Summerville, near Charleston. Such a beautiful place!
