Designs to InspIre~
There is Inspiration all around us everyday!~ Although some out of reach.....sometimes we can create our HomeS as let's say, a KNOCK OFF. We do it, and have done it. For instance our exterior wood shutters where inspiration from a million dollar home, that of course We can not afford...but we could afford the shutters!~ Another example are the wood beams as shown here below....my husband will be doing this project for me come Spring in our kitchen eating area. We priced out the cost of real wood...not affordable, however, the faux beams are shhhhh I am not telling anyone they are faux....we received a sample today and I can't wait for him to get started in the kitchen. So what inspires you, or what home project have you done lately?

Debbie this looks right up your alley! You have always inspired me, in fact, I posted a lampshade on RMS today because you never let the haters deter you...Sorry, off subject. I get inspiration from RMS, Country Living, BH&G, but mostly from my Grandma. She has always put what she loves in her house(no matter how obscure or eclectic) and her house is always welcoming. That is how I like my house, filled with things I love that have memories or that evoke happiness:)
I love the look of beams- can't wait to see your project!
I have a love/hate relationships with photos like this. I want them...they are gorgeous...I want to live there...I want a maid to take care of it all for me!
And the hate part comes when I look around my very plain house and think....gee whiz.
Deb, those beams will look great in your kitchen. I have been wanting them in the great room, but don't believe it will ever happen. Oh well.
Erin, what is your name on RMS I would love to see what you posted!!~ I recall it being something like lovelampshades?? I forgot.....Thanks everyone for stopping by.
Thanks for visiting my Shabby Cottage today! Enjoyed visiting your site and I also love the Carolina's. Warm hugs, Esther
Debbie, I love the inspiration pictures. The Med/Tuscan look is my favorite. I can't wait to see those beams done in your house. I'm now looking through the Home Tour Party. What great pictures! Your home tour was wonderful. You have awesome decorating skills. I finally joined in on the party, too. Oh,thank you for the comment on my post for the "Get Your Face On". I still can't believe I did it!
Thanks for the very inspiring pictures, Debbie. I love beams too and we have cypress beams en the kitchen and family room ceilings. It's part of what sold me to the house...Christine
I get inspiration from literally everywhere!! I'm such a visual person. I have endless saved photos on the computer, photos downloaded to discs, books full of tear sheets from magazines. It makes me happy to go through all of the images that I have saved. ;)
They will be fabulous! I can't wait to see them! I love to get inspiration from all sorts of things, but then make it my own. You are the master of that and I can't WAIT to see how it turns out!
Debbie, beams are going to look great in your breakfast room, especially with the angle of the ceiling & the large window. We found out how expensive wood beams are when we looked for one for our basement mantel. We know many homebuilders so we were able to find a wholesale place to purchase one. I didn't know there were such things as faux beams ... I am sure I have seen some & not known they weren't real wood!
Those beams will be great! Hubby and I have talked about doing some in the MBR. I have been so busy I cannot get by here often enough, but you are doing great over here!! Isn't is so much better than RMS???
You just inspired me with these beautiful photos. I already have the high beam ceilings but I need to a little remodel on the kitchen.
Pretty, pretty photos. I love to see where other people go with their decor when they jump off from a high end design.
I enjoyed the tour, I have a ceiling like that in my L.R. most don't know that, because, I am so careful not to go high enough to show my husbands deer heads!!!! Yes, we have 5 above that railing...shhhhh
hi there! nice to meet you....
those wood floors and ceiling beams remind me of what my brother does...he builds homes...! Very beautiful....only he uses reclaimed barn wood...and actually, he even cut his own trees down from off our farm and used that wood for flooring..
creativity abounds!
you have followed me, darling now i shall do the same in return....
come by again and again!
ciao

Wow, this home most certainly inspires me...gorgeous! The faux beams look exactly like the real ones, more smart actually cause you pay less... so you go girl...you obviously have a great sense of style!!! Love your blog!

I have yet to find those beams. My inlaws have them in their home from like 1979 and they sure do look real. Lightweight and easy to put up. How did you find them?
Debbie,
Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. I love your webpage and all the great pictures. I will peek in often!

Hi Debbie, Great looking place posted here. I like the way this kitchen opens right up into the greatroom, very much IN right now and it is so functional for entertaining. This is very much my style here in Sedona, AZ.Keep up the good work!
