Mini Home Tour
o excited to join in the fun today!!~ I decided to link my home tour. You can get a feel for who we are and what we like!~ We like Old things with lots of history. My blog is a little bit of everything, from family, home design, inspiration and FUN!!~ So please follow me and I will follow you....this is AWesome!~ and thanks to the hosts for this creative Meme!~ Please go check out some more.
Home exterior with custom made wood shutters.....I will take some more pics in the Spring when we have green grass and flowers..........
Welcome to my home tour......Our home is very reflective of who we are and what we like. We have unique finds that we have sought out at antique stores and Ebay. We seem to be attracted to things with arches and curves and that represent the catholic religion. Several years ago after visiting Arizona and touring a mission, we became very inspired and influenced with the Spanish arts. We never tire of them and they make for awesome conversation pieces. So kick off your shoes and stay awhile~~! And thanks for visiting.....
Welcome to our Home...we are sure glad you stopped by as we love to entertain and have out of town company...First thing you will notice is the stained glass antique church window. It is over 100 years old and came out of a church from Upstate New York. We where very excited to find this and knew it would look perfect there!
This view is from the inside looking to the front door. You will see some old Spanish art above the door. That was a great find on Ebay and is an old painting from a Spanish artist.
Alert message now, I am not a minimalist....................
This is our little hallway off to the right side when you enter the home. We found a perfect place for our Spanish Retablo. A Retablo better known as Laminas is in translation "behind the altar". In Spanish history it represents the heart and soul of traditional religious beliefs in the 17th, 18th and 19th century. Beautiful piece of art work. We found a tin shelf to put under it, and light the candles on occasion...really looks pretty at night.
Before you tuck away for the night, stop by the RetABlo and say your prayers or make a wish..........
Small guest bath with pretty tile, that I wanted to keep open. I also found these tie curtains at World market.
Some men have actually untied the other side of the curtain because they did not know what to do lol!!~ DUH there is a clear liner right there.......just slide it over.
Pretty paper Spanish Art we purchased in Arizona. My husband made the frames, and they are really pretty. Not easy to photograph so sorry for the pic, it really is a small space.
Note to oneself, when husband is doing project big or small, leave the house!~ This was not as easy as it looked!
Our home is an open floor plan which we love. We actually purchased our home without ever stepping foot in it....yes it is true we only looked through the windows and loved it. That will be another topic down the road. To the left as you enter, once occupied a dining room...we decided we like to have fun ( well I decided) husband totally agreed, and we did away with the formal DR and made an old English pub room. My husband did the tin ceiling himself, and we ordered the pub off of Ebay..We have created wonderful memories thus far and anticipate more to come. We love to play games here, like block head, sherades, and catch phrase.....My husband has an extensive collection of old bar ware, from the 30's to 50's era. More conversation pieces for sure!
Right now I am getting in Spring mode. I love mixing warm colors in my home. I kept the wall color a simple warm butter that way I can mix accessories and they will never clash....
I love to change up my mantel seasonally. I do not think my husband is ever that thrilled, but he bites his tongue as he knows it always goes back to his liking.......
As you can see this is where a TV was suppose to be. We both agreed we would not like that and put a candelier, that was an anniversary gift, along with a mirror I just purchased and stained to cover the outlets...it looks pretty in person.
Now onto the kitchen......this was the one space we could see well through the windows remember I mentioned we never stepped foot in...lol....we love the wood cabinets with the two tone molding and rustic feeling. The builder did an awesome job with choosing granite and the harlequin pattern back splash....I really do not think I could have done better with that. I love having windows above my sink...come Spring I see all kinds of beautiful nature as the woods are behind our home.
ALthough, not the largest kitchen, it certainly suits our family well. The center island is wonderful for entertaining and having food placement.
The laundry room is off my kitchen. I recently did away with my rooster kitchen, and my laundry room home of the roosters!!~ It worked out perfect. I tatouged the laundry room, an artist actually does replicas of her work on a transfer...very easy to apply. I did vines and jasmine. It truly looks hand painted and gives it a little life in there...I
I also brought in some cobalt blue color, which I am really loving!!~ I had this vase for very long time, and one day dug it out, that is when my entire inspiration began.......
Here I brought it to the other side as well, to balance the room and have a flow of color....I was lucky enough to find almost the same pattern as the vase......
Here are some more pops of cobalt as well. I just found this cloche for a great price $15.00....I love it! The chalkboard is a recent find too...that is more of a greenish color, which balances well with my kitchen set
which is a distressed green with yellow seat cushions....
Come Spring and Summer by back yard is plush green with all the trees...it serves as an awesome backdrop and canopy over the patio. Although much work, I still enjoy it. For that reason I chose not to have window treatments over here, privacy is not an issue. And we see some beautiful nature....we have a family of deer that visit often last we counted seven of them!~
My husband is working on some wood beams for this room...I think it will look awesome. I may have to do away with the bon appetit once they are up...but not sure yet.......Thanks again for stopping over. This of course is only a partial tour...the only rooms I chose to clean today to show y'all!!~ LOL.....You have motivated me to do the others and perhaps on the next tour I will join in:) Thank you to Transforming home for this awesome opportunity for me to share my home. I feel like since I have been blogging I have only given tidbits....I have spent a year on RMS so I guess I was homed out LOL!!~
Here is a pic from last summer, you can see all the trees, and of course a little rooster, and rooster curtains......Once Spring Hits I will really love the green backdrop with the poppies.....

What a great tour!! Love your decorating...so inviting and comfortable. Your kitchen is gorgeous!!!
I have always loved the warm comfortable feeling of your home. The pictures are great and that retablo is absolutely breathtaking. I never realized the pub was in your dining room! I love it!!! You just have a special touch that is so welcoming.
Hi debbie, your home looks beautiful, as always....Kathy
Great tour! I always love looking at photos of your home. You always change it up & that makes it very interesting.
What a beautiful home!! So many things I love, I don't know where to start! I love the bedding in the guest room, I need to find a World Market! Love all the colors and love the poppies too! Thanks for sharing!!!! BTW, your home looks spotless!! I am so not ready for that kind of house tour, lol!
You have abeautiful way of decorating your warm, inviting home. I LOOOOVE your kitchen and the Pub was a great idea. I wish I had a BIGGER dining room, cause we have alot of dinner parties and seem to feel a little cramped if we get over 8 people! So glad your blog is doing so well! Maybe one day I will figure out how to do it and join in!!!! XO, PInky
Thanks everyone...BTW I did clean my head off before taking these pics!!~ Stephanie you can look up World Market on line, it is an awesome place!!~ Thanks pinky...I appreciate you coming over to visit me....I have to get over to RMS soon!!~:)
Well, you are ahead of me. I still have to do my post. Yours looks great. I love that guest room, always have. Turning your unused dining room into something you will use is a very smart idea. We only use our dining room a couple of times a year.
Hi Debbie!
thank you so much for letting us visit your beautiful home! tht was so much fun and everything looks just stunning!
Okay Debbie,
How far are you from NC? Can you redo my home online? I am sooooo impressed!
You can really tell that you love your home and it is lovely. Thanks for the tour. I love home tours, alittle insite to the people living there is always fun.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
So many pictures! I think I went through them two or three times (only)... and I even cliked them to make them bigger.
I like your interpretation of the Spanish (I'm from Spain, but love shabby chic style... go figure) theme. It's not, let's say, the typical bulls, bullfithgters and flamenco ladies with long black hair... but it's still Spanish. Well achieved!
My first feeling is that I am inside a Gothic (that doesn't mean black or scary, I'm talking about the art) cathedral: extremely tall walls, the arch stained window, the retablo (wow, that's great!), the pulpit... but then I see other contrasting elements, such as a pub... my eye goes everywhere.
Very unique, like you. Nobody has a house like yours. :-)
Congratulations to you and your family for creating such a wonderful place for your (and ours, thanks for the tour) enjoyment. Y'all deserve it!
Begoluna....funny when I was posting the retablo I was thinking of you, I know you are Spanish and I knew you would appreciate this....we love Spanish influenced art.....I appreciate your kind comments as you always make me blush!!~ and smile, and LOL!!~
Thank you for sharing your lovely home! I love all of the treasures you have found along your journey of life, that is what makes a house a home. I wish I lived closer to take advantage of your inviting guest room..... I would like to share my home but in the middle of minor remodeling. (are we ever really done) people like us are always sanding, painting, treasure finding, moving furniture, move walls if our husbands would let us! Love it all and thanks again Debbie, you are very talented! Wish I could stop by and belly on up to your irish bar!
Kelli I have vacancy til March, then we are booked...call for an appointment anytime!!~ I would love to have you, we had have so much FUn!~
Your house is gorgeous! I will have to do a feature on it someday on my blog. My favorite part in the pub. My husband and I want to do the same thing in our theme room (Bourdeaux) and we also want a tin ceiling. Do me a favor, please keep after me, I want to feature you but it will have to wait a few weeks.
Thank you so much!
Great tour...you have a beautiful, and extremely CLEAN home, LOL. Love those long curtains in your family room.
Your house is BEAUTIFUL!!! Great tour!
And that bar, gorgeous...my husband would have a great time there :)

Peaking in at your blog today an what a wonderful house tour. I just love your kitchen and could have so much fun in that kitchen playing with lots and lots of FLOUR. I see you are from NW NY so you must be thrilled to be living in the south and not to be all bundled up shoveling snow.
Joyce
Thanks for visiting my blog. Loved your post. Would make a fabulous Bed&Breakfast LOL..
Debbie, Thanks for sharing your home so openly and fearlessly. I have always loved your home and I have always said that you can tell that this home is loved and the people in it are wonderful people. I love that you decorate with what you love, it shows and it flows. I was sad to see the roosters go, but it turned out beautiful(as if it wouldn't?), so no loss!!
Debbie- I have been over my daily alotted time to visit- and it's all your fault. I love your style attention to detail. Your home is lovely and welcoming and filled with beautiful and interesting things displayed with grand style.
I am also not a minimalist so you are speaking my love language!

What a beautiful home! I adore all your unique antiques, the stained glass window, and the altar thingie.
Your granite is cool too - my granite is much more mundane - I really love all the difference and color in yours. This post makes me feel like I just stopped by for coffee and a visit ... or maybe a beer at your incredible pub!

Thanks so much for linking up. I am so glad we did this...
Danielle
You have a very spacious and attractive home. I can see why you don't need a dining room with that large kitchen eating area. The pub is a really unique idea, I love the woodwork. Your guest room looks very comfy too. Thanks for sharing your home tour.
Here via Danielle's home tour... love all the warm, rich tones you use!
Your home is beautiful! :)
Thanks for stopping in and saying hello on my blog. It's brand new, so I get really excited with every single comment.
I love the warmness of your home! I love the granite you have in the kitchen - so pretty. I think beams in your breakfast room will look incredible! Can't wait to see photos of that! And the pub is awesome - is that in your "formal" dining room area? Thanks for visiting my blog on the home tour!
I had an ADHD moment and didn't pay attention to what happened, so I'm not sure if this is a duplicate post? lol I love your warm colors and especially the love the granite in the kitchen! I think beams in the breakfast area would be amazing and can't wait to see the photos. Moms of all boys ROCK! Thanks for visiting my blog on the house tour party!
Your home is lovely. So warm and comfortable looking, and you have some really special items that make the home very personal. I love what you've done, I enjoy seeing your unique personality shine in your home! thanks for sharing all those great photos!

Heidi - Heart and Home
I love your kitchen! I agree with many others, your home is so warm. Did you get that Bon Appetit decal at Hobby Lobby? I almost got the same one the other day!
Hi Amanda....I bought the stencil at Steinmart some time ago...I am actually considering taking it down soon, I am sick of it LOL!!~ Thanks for stopping over:)
Wow Debbie! Fabulous tour!! Thank you so much for opening your home and welcoming us all in. Gorgeous home, but it's what's in the heart that makes a home :-). If that's so, you must have a very warm heart :-)
wow you sure had a lot of company so far 42 comments everything looks wonderfully lovely oh but how come iam first on the list for the camera lol.:) well keep on snapping
Hi Debbie long time no talk. Your house looks GREAT!! I really like the change you did in your kitchen can't wait to see those beams up.I'm new at this blogging so I'm still trying to figure it out but I LOVE it already!!
Talk to you soon Martina
Hi Martina! Nice to see you here!! So glad you stopped by, and I do hope to see you again....you will figure it out in no time. I was just thinking about you yesterday....I was in Marshalls and I saw all the bee stuff this year...I never did get to see yours LOL!!~
Hi Debbie,
Wonderful tour! Your home is warm and appealing, and you've added so many special touches that make it unique and inviting. Tough call, but I think I like your pub room best of all!
Thanks for stopping by. I always appreciate your visits and kind comments. You asked what kind of camera I use. It's usually an Olympus Camedia C-5050 (about 8 years old). I have a newer, more compact Olympus with more megapixels, but I like the feel of the older one. Anyway ... I know you're thinking of getting a new camera. I'd suggest that you check with Pat of Back Porch Musings. She takes absolutely beautiful photographs, and I'm sure she's up on the latest equipment.
Turning off the flash (and using a tripod) helped me take better pictures. That's really the only photography "secret" I know to share.
Hope the rest of your week goes well!
Bill
you have a beatiful and eclectic home :D
Hi. I just stopped over from Transforming Home and wanted to say hello. Your home is lovely, and very warm. Thanks for the tour.
Stopping over from Alphabe-Thursday. I must say, it took be a while to get to your post, I couldn't stop looking at your header. Your boys are so cute and those expressions LOL. I loved the tour. You have a great home. There's so much to see. I'll have to come back and look some more.
Loved the tour Deb! I am fascinated with how you transformed the space over the mantel where the TV was supposed to go. LOVE IT! You have a real flair for decorating girl!
xoxo,
Kim
Thanks for the wonderful tour. Your home looks warm and happy.
I'm stopping by from Danielle's party. You have a lovely home - I love those artifacts, especially the one with the candles on it. My ceilings are about the same height as yours, I wanted to do window treatments that high, but I didn't have enough wall width - yours are beautiful.
Well, my goodness. (see, that's how teachers talk...I think...maybe...)
At first I thought those were photos from a magazine...they look so perfect but then I realized it's WHERE YOU ACTUALLY LIVE!
Wow.
