Our SpeciAl DAy
http://thelongroadtochina.blogspot.com. Thank you for hosting this lovely party! You may click my pics to enlarge. I have decided to take a trip down memory lane. It is VALENTINES day weekend and what a great time to reflect on the day we married our Love!~ I have mentioned before the first time I met Mike I knew he was the oNe!~ Told my Family and Friends right off the Bat. The night I met Mike I did not want to go out....my sister and I had gone to a benefit for a young child with cancer...so needless to say not fun!~ Well my sister said come on let's just go out for a drink. So we went to a local/bar restaraunt called JJ Muggs. In walked Mike, tall, dark and handsome. I said to my sister Holy crap (SH**) who is that guy...he sure is not from around here. Well he was not, he was lost and stopped in for directions home. I went to the rest room to go spruce up, hoping he would notice me. Well my sister went up to him in the meant time and said, Um My sister thinks your really cute will you talk to her LOL!!~ I did not know it at the time. He talked with me for the rest of the night, and needless to say, the rest is history!!~ The Day Mike asked me to Marry Him, remember with no ring, no money, no nothing...I still said Yes......well 6 months later I had my Wedding. I was sealing the Deal and fast, Just in case he changed his Mind!~!~ I wore the first dress I picked out, I wanted that Jackie O look. Of course I was slim enough back then to pull it off!~ Now if I tried to stick my baby toe in it, it would burst at the seams. Actually, about 5 years ago I tried on the dress....I TRIED!~ My bootay has grown some!~ That is as far as it got.....May 20, 1995 was a very special Day for us. My Grandfather who was very near and dear to me let his Debbiedoos go to the arms and heart of another. Mike and My Grandfather grew very close through the years and in my Grandfathers later times left with us, Mike took care of him as though he was his grandfather. I will always love and respect that in my husband!!~
Gramp and I walking down the aisle, he had tears of joy.......and I just want to know what the heck was I thinking on this hairdo?? You do know perms where in at one time right? Well there you have it!!~

Such beautiful wedding photos! I absolutely love your gown! I got a kick out of your story about trying it on. At least you were brave enough to try; let's just say I am not that brave. My friend and I were joking on the phone earlier about embracing our bulges, i.e., accepting the fact that despite having a healthy diet and exercising, some excess weight just seems to creep on with age. Anyway, thanks for sharing your beautiful photos and making me chuckle.
Jane
Thanks Jane, it is funny, and I do embrace my bulges.....it just happens~!!~
OMG, Deb, beautiful wedding photos. Wow that was the hair style then wasn't it. Your husband is so nice and tall. Y'all look good together.
Your wedding was beautiful and you were a beautiful bride with a very handsome groom, Debbie. I enjoyed looking at the pictures. Where is Mr. Linky?...Christine
Great pictures of your wedding, Debbie!! Thank you for sharing them. That was definitely the hair style for back then. I remembered I loved my hair!!!
Awesome pics Debbie! You make a beautiful couple! Obviously meant to be! Your gown is beautiful and the pic with your gramps walking you down the aisle-priceless! Nice time to post these pics! Happy Valentine's Day!

Nice post for Valentine's day! Fun to see your photos!
Don't you love getting out your album and looking at these pictures? I think you look stunning! You definitely have a glow about you. It shows that you are a woman in love!
You two are like movie stars in these photos! Seriously! These photos are just gorgeous. I love your dress--it's still a classic today. Don't worry, I can't get into mine either!
Oh what beautiful memories from your big day! I have to say that the style takes me back. I used to rock some pretty massive permed hair back then. My brother said it looked like a lions mane! Thanks for visiting my blog!
Hi Debbie,
Thanks for sharing your pictures, I just love looking at other peoples photo albums! Especially the wedding pictures, they are so special. You two looked very happy and in love! What a lovely dress! My husband and I eloped 22 years ago, we were all alone on our big day.(besides the preacher man, of course!) Very few pictures, no big dress, no fancy bouquet, no rice and (I guess this is a good thing - )no big hair! But I do love a good wedding, I watch all those silly wedding shows on TLC and get a kick out of every details!
Thanks for stopping by for a visit, I hope you'll come back often.

Hi Debbie,

You are so beautiful. I love your wedding gown Thanks for the visit. I love visiting here.
Debbie, I love your wedding photos! I love really old wedding pictures and the not so old ones like our age group. I have some of my husband's side of the family like his grandmother and further back. I look at them and say what were they thinking? And you are just as pretty now as you were then.
Linda
Thanks everyone for the lovely comments!~ It is funny because I showed my boys the pics yesterday....they where laughing their heads off at both my husband and I......my younger boy said "Mom was that your hair"? 15 years ago does not seem that long. But things do change, I even had more eyelashes then I do now, what's up with that?
LOVE your wedding photo's, yall had a beautiful, romantic day,you and your hubby make a good-looking pair, and yall made two handsome boys.
Great photos Debbie! You look like a glamorous movie star, especially the one of you where you are looking down at your bouquet. You remind me of Lady Gaga when she was interviewed recently by Barbara Walters. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IljmjabjUP0
luv your blog! you have a great attitude! check out my blog when you have a few minutes! there is a post of a snow day video!
Ha Pam I just watched the you tube video, I like Lady Gaga, my kids always say Mom she is inappropriate...I tell them well yes she can be, but she is an artist who is expressing herself!!~ I could see where you get that impression...all I would have needed at the time is her bleached blonde hair lol!!~ Oh I have had that look too!
Now THAT we want to see!!! Next week's photo maybe???? :-)
Thank you for sharing such a special day.

Wow Debbie! Such a perfect Valentine's post! GORGEOUS wedding, but I will say that you must take after your mother.....the years seem to be being very kind to you indeed :-)
Cute story and I love that you met the man of your dreams on a night that you had to be dragged out to the bar! And I had the perm too - don't feel bad. That was just how we did it in the 90s :) Thanks for the comment love on my blog post. Oh, and I also checked out your snow pics. BRRRR!!! My family in Alabama was hit hard. They're expecting more tomorrow.
I love the Jackie O look! Thanks for sharing :)
Oh the talk about your grandfather brought tears to my eyes! My grandpa was very close with my husband and my husband loved him as his own! My grandpa was a farmer so we danced to She Thinks My Tractors Sexy at my reception - it was one of my last & best memories of that amazing man!
Also - love the photos - the dress was fabulous!!
