Before and After, PARTAY STARTED!

First off, THANK you so very much for all your awesome suggestions, opinions, two and three cents worth on my friends mantel.  Turns out, the mantel part is actually concrete, so that WILL not be changed.  We have some ideas  that will be coming up in the future. It is so awesome to put a question out there to all of you  and to receive such an overwhelming responses. You gals ROCK!

We did a room make over for her guest bedroom. Now you all know how much I love the Better Homes and Gardens collection at the Walmart. In fact the entire project is all from THE WALMART! I think I need to do a commercial for them, don't you think?

-Bedding Home and Gardens collection quilt $20.00
-Mainstay corduroy bedding with shams included $34.00
-Throw for chair $12.00
-Shower curtains two of them $19.99 each
-Chocolate brown pillow cases $5.00
- Throw pillows 15.00
Misc. accessories, spray paint, throw rugs, towels $100.00
We did the complete makeover on a budget and I am here to show you the results. Let's start with the
BEFORE
She does not have a headboard so she made the back wall a family wall.  All the frames that where gold got a color makeover

You see my favorite Bahaus Gold, and Olive green:)
I just adore the bedding, and at such a great price, you can't beat it!
Such  pretty room, over looking her wonderful Lake views too.
Of course what would a room makeover be without doing the lamp too?

Of course the Debbiedoos embellishing act.

Some Fall accessories. The little wire basket was $5.00 and the Fall filler was $6.00

Now onto the bathroom...just a few simple changes started with the shower curtain to tie into the guest room
BEFORE

Pretty, pretty...again very reasonable Better Home and Gardens collection

Of course this was all silver with the natural baskets, needed a face lift and brought the Gold in here as well.

Added some fresh smelling nuts.
So there you have two room makeovers for very little money.
We also tweaked here and there and pulled from other rooms as well.

I am also linking and joining in on the  (FALL CHALLENGE) over at

DebbieDoo do'ed it again! It looks great! I hardly ever go to Walmart here because the local store was kind of crappy and now has been under remodel for so long...and the other one is on the far West side of the city. Anyway, our "new" store is finished and I will have to pop in and see it now. That collection is lovely...and very Fall-ish...but will hold up wonderfully through all the seasons.

I LOVE that little yellow lamp...how flipping cute is that?!?! Good job- xxoo Diana

ps...on that mantel thing. Ours is poured concrete too. We just added a big boxy "beam" (3 pieces of wood left open in the back) and slid it right over top of the concrete piece. The weight of it holds it in place perfectly...An easy fix if she would want to try it.

Such great makeovers! I never find cute stuff like that at my WM! I might not be looking in the right places or it might just be my WM. You definitely should do a commercial for them (send them your Wow! tape!)

Great makeover. I hate to beat a dead hors, but your friends fire place mantle could be enlarged without removing the concrete. She could just have a long square narrow box made that is bigger than the mantle and it could slip right over the concrete slab. She is so lucky that she has the slab as that is perfect for adding a bigger mantle. If I get my post done I am going to link up to B & A
