No bake pie recipes, cake balls recipes

No bake pies and cookies are my idea of a fun and easy dessert.
New Year, New resolutions. That means Diet. I will be starting on Monday. I know that is what we all say.  In the meantime I plan on enjoying the weekend. We are going to a house party tonight. I have two quick recipes to share with you.

Ok you ready for this recipe, this is just how easy.  Bake a cake, any cake you like. I chose Carrot cake.
Let cake cool.
Crumble cake in the pan you baked it in.
Add frosting, to crumbled cake, any kind you like to compliment the cake you baked, in this case I used cream cheese frosting.
Mix together.
Form a ball, like a small meatball.
Now you can do one of two things next...
Melt chocolate, which I used white, and dip the ball and let harden, or just dollop the chocolate on top and add sprinkles, nuts or whatever your liking.
These are delish!
Next recipe:  Well It is in the process of forming now, but this is it so far:

as you can see there is not much to this either.  Never made it before.  But I will let you know how it is. My MIL recently gave me a subscription to a taste of home...the recipes all look fantastic.
So eat drink and all be merry, even if you don't drink of course!
Be safe, and DO not drink and drive!
Looking forward to 2011!

Looks yummy! I'm starting my diet too, I've gained 30lbs. in 3 years and I hate it. Sweets aren't my issue, it's butter, cheese and wine so they're getting cut out.

Have a fun weekend Debbie and Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year Debbie to you and your wonderful family. Those recipes do look wonderful. Did you know Taste Of Home is published not far from here...and the older ones (mags) were completely different from today's..if you can find some back issues you will be amazed. Someone told me before about that first recipe but couldn't remember how it was made...I will try these with the kids...can't wait for THAT mess! Hugs-Diana

Enjoy the treats as tomorrow in the gar-bag they all go.... he-he....
