Good luck to Alex and the rest! Hope he feels well enough to relax and enjoy it!!
Good luck Alex! No, I have not heard of a Strep shot. My 19 year old gets it sometimes so I will have to remember that.
I hope he can rest tomorrow!
how handsome he looks all dressed in his fancy uniform,,I have not heard of a strep shot,, interesting,,
I heart marching bands! Best thing I ever did when I was a kid. Good luck for the big day! And hope he is feeling better!
The adrenaline will get him through but then he'll crash when it's all over. Bless his heart, I hope that shot is worth it and heals him in no time!! Praying here.
I am a nurse. The shot was probably Bicillin. Which is a penicillin. I hate to give them because they hurt. It is wvery thick and slow to give. It does work well.
I hope the band has a good time today! Maybe Alex will be able to get some rest tomorrow. He's a cutie.
Enjoy your day, Debbie!
xxxooo
Oh, no now a shot for strep throat? Poor kids get shots for everything.
Love the photo.
How exciting for Alex! I'm sorry about the strep throat and yes I have heard of the shot, they work like magic! Painful but worth it. I'm glad he's already feeling better and I hope he has a fabulous experience!

Nope, never heard of a strep throat shot. There's been a lot of strep going around up here though, so maybe there's a big national outbreak of it. Hope his band does well at the competition. Sounds like a fun, but exhausting day.
I almost got really excited because my husband is a drum line instructor and they're having their first competition tonight in Columbia...Tennessee. Haha!
Never heard of giving a shot for strep before Debbie and my oldest daughter used to get strep all the time! Well I'm sure it worked a lot faster then taking antibiotics. So glad he didn't miss out on his first competition!! Enjoy, Martina
I know about the shot. Yes, it hurts but it works! Hope Alex has a great time in SC!
I'm enjoying catching up on your blog after a long break!
Good luck to Alex, poor little man. He is certainly a trooper!! Such a handsome young man!! Hope he feels better soon. Hopefully he'll be able to get some rest tomorrow.... hugs ~lynne~

So glad he is well enough to go with his group.. shot~! yikes
Never heard of a shot for strep but it sounds like it worked. How exciting for your son. Hope it's an awesome experience.
All the best to Alex in the competition and the strep throat!!
I'm so glad to hear that your son is feeling better! I've never heard of that shot and I just told my husband about it because he tends to get strep throat every now and then and suffers for days and days with it. If he ever gets it again, he will gladly take the shot. Thanks for the tip! Good luck to your son's band. Hope he does well.
Good luck from one band momma to another! Woo Hoo =)
Poor baby is gonna by wiped out. Sure hope he can get some rest after and feel better.
Nope, never heard of a strep shot. And Austin has had strep. Acutally turned into scarlett fever. Good thing to watch for. Never knew that was how it started until our ER trip.
They sure look SHARP. Nice uniforms. Lots of luck!!
Yep, I was a pediatric nurse before I did Pharma sales, we use to give a penicillin shot to kids when they were to sick to keep pills down or had to be in a band competitionLOL It works quick and hurts like heck! Good luck at the competition!
Carol
Best of luck to Alex and hope that you survive!
Oh how fun and good luck to them. I am so glad he is feeling better. I know you will have such a great time. You should be so proud. What a great adventure for the band. Hugs, Marty
I've never heard of a strep shot. I hope he doesn't have a reaction from the shot. The competition will be stressful enough. I got a DTap shot earlier this week because of the floodwater contamination, and I was so sick the next day. Fever, dizziness, aches, etc.
Good luck to Alex! Hope he feels better.
Oh poor guy~~hope he feels better soon!!
I've never heard of strep throat shot, but I hope it works quickly for him. Good luck on the competition. No wonder you are so proud of him. Have a great weekend Debbie!
Good luck to Alex! Hope he fells better today!
Your kids go to Fort Mill! Ugh, They had the best band when I was in school. I remember the envy at band competitions seeing them preform Fiddler on the roof at state...
I went to school in Charleston. I hope he is having a blast!
Wow! That is a big day! I hope he is feeling much better and ready to show off his marching band skills. I can tell you are just a wee bit proud of him! :-)
Vanessa
Good Luck Alex! I am cheering for you.
Mom, He looks great. Such a handsome young man.
Have a great time. Hugs, Ginger
Good luck Alex! My son was in band and I remember how exciting it was. Never heard of a shot for strep but am so glad it worked!
Oh, I hope he feels better, no never heard of a strep throat shot!
Have a great time and make sure he gets some rest after!
Yesmam! I had an antibiotic shot for strep once, they hurt like heck! We have one in a high school marching band and are very familiar with all the competions..
Good luck~~!
He is such a handsome little dude in his good looking uniform.
I've had penicillin for sore throats..
Wow -he is going to be worn out tomorrow. I know you'll make sure he feels all snuggly tomorrow :-) So glad though he was able to go with the band.
Oh yeah! Being in band there is no telling when you will be home! I hope he had a blast!
Wow! You obviously have a handsome and talented son - hope his competition went great! So sorry he was sick. I don't know about a strep shot, but I had some Rocephen shots summer before last when I had a bad case of pneumonia that hurt extremely badly and left horrible bruising. I certainly feel for him. Hope he is completely healthy very soon. Looks like you got it looking like gorgeous Autumn all around your lovely place, Debbie - no surprise there - you just have that wonderful flair! Lots of love and best wishes! Laurie from Scene of Sublime (formerly Scene of the Grime)
I have never heard of a strep throat shot.
I hope all went well with the competition & that Alex feels better soon!
Oh wow Debbie, 1:15a.m.!!! I don't even know what that is anymore! Once in a blue moon I think I wake up that hour to pee.
How proud you must be of your young man! He's so handsome:) It's so great that he's into this, keeps him busy in a good way. No, I have never heard of the strep throat shot but I sure wish it had been around when I was growing up because I got it every year and it was horrible:(
Best of luck Alex.
Hope it went well and that Alex is feeling much better !!
Wishing Alex all the best
Thanks everyone!~ Fort mill came in first place! It was a long hard day,but what a show indeed!
Sorry I'm late commenting - I was out of town. I'm glad your son's band won. And, no, I've never heard of a shot for strep throat.
Never heard of it, but my daughter KEEPS strep throat! I hope they are pleased with their performance. :D
