Looking your best!

Hey everyone! I hope today you are all feeling your best and of course looking your best!

Well.....
if you are like me at this moment I am sitting in my PJ's still blogging.  However, I do plan on getting up, getting out there and doing a little Zumba today.
My exercise routine fell to the wayside in 2011.  I promised myself, I would do better in 2012.
Seems the older we get the harder it is to just Commit.
We can do it, we just choose not to.

How about you?
What are the good habits you are committing to developing?

{source}

What are your beauty resolutions this year?
For me during the winter months I moisturize a lot more.
Taking care of my skin has always been very important to me.
My Mom started me young on that regime, and I am glad she did.
I do plan on visiting the dermatologist this year as well.
Just for a skin check, and to also ask about some derma-brasion.

How do you plan to shake up and streamline your routine?

This is a good question...my first thoughts were I need to break up my routine.
I am a creature of habit and once I get in a routine I tend to stick with it. Whether good or bad, I stick with whatever mode I am in.
My current  routine has been to blog all morning instead of get out there and get active.
Not good! I have the butt to prove it.

There will  HOWEVER, be a change, that I plan on sticking too.
I am going to take a few different exercise classes, ie. Kettle ball, custom cuts, etc.
Most importantly, to stop snacking at the computer.  I have more crumbs around my desk than the kids make in a week around the counter. And believe me, my younger son points that out to me.
I try to hide the bags when they come up. I get busted though.

So tell me a little bit about you, your plans on changing, or what is working for you now!! We would love to hear it.

Thank you Blogher for the opportunity to share a little about me, and my plans to be a better me.

I'm right there with you. I always try to do one chore or activity before settling in. I know we must learn to limit our time in blogland too. It's a challenge, but I know we can get there. About the diet...hey...maybe that's why I've been crank-ie since the new year began.

Sounds like your mom is like mine! I was just thinking this morning how glad I am she had me taking good care of my skin early. and I rarely got sun on my face even though I did tan back then. It is definitely harder as we get older to work out. Ugh. I used to live in the gym. It doesn't help that it is also harder to loose weight now either. I will be walking today when it dries out:-)

Yep, I hear ya on all of this. :) Still in PJ's, snack too much on the computer or TV. I have been making a commitment to work out more. I've only missed one day so far. I do take Sundays off.

It's good to hear I'm not the only one.

WTG Debbie!!! I try and work out after the kids leave for school. If I don't do it in the morning, I tend to not do it. It's not always easy but I do feel better after I've done it. Today's kind of lazy because my younger one doesn't have school so I'm still in my jammies and on the computer. busted!

Good for you Debbie! I love to garden and get out there as much as I can(when it's not raining!). Moving dirt is great exercise. I've lost 25 pounds since last June and plan to lose 5-10 more. My snacks are limited to roasted almonds, sunflower seeds and anything else that's protein. I also take my vitamins and see my doctor regularly.

I wish I had your ambition Debbie.
When I work until seven, it's hard for me to want to do anything...especially in the winter months. I don't mind walking, or riding my bike in the morning before work, or after the early shift at the pharmacy. Sometimes I even ride my bike to work in summer...but I really need to be consistent.

Our mom's must have been twins. I cannot go to bed without cleaning and night moisturizing my face. I use so much Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion on my body that I should really buy stock. I really want to take a Zumba class but all the ones offered in my area are in the evening, I just don't do any kind of classes at night. That's just wrong, so I will continue to walk everyday. I have started making raw veggies my snack of choice. I keep celery, baby carrots, and radishes in containers in the fridge so I can just grab some when I head to the computer and if I have to have something salty and I do, I'm doing a 100 calorie bag of Smart Pop! Have a great day. Good luck. We all need it.

I've been thinking about Zumba but fear for the comfort of others if I start stomping and moving around them. Ouch.

I like to hit the gym for a 6 am class even though I could go later in the day. That way, I still get my entire morning after I drop the kids off for school to do whatever else I need to do (blogging, cleaning, shopping or whatever). I hate taking away from "my" time to work out so I'd rather give up a little sleep (I go to bed earlier...)

Awesome post-I've been wanting to try out zumba, maybe this week.

I love to run. I'm happy to be a hamster on the treadmill with an audo book.

Good for you Debbie, those are great goals to set! Last year I was walking 2 miles everyday sometimes twice a day, I became obsessed but I looked and felt great. Then one thing lead to another and I just stopped. That is something I really need to start up again and stop putting off. All my beds used to get made before I even came downstairs in the morning, now I found myself getting out of bed putting the coffee on and running to the computer to blog! There are even some days that I am just getting dressed right before the kids get home for school NOT GOOD!

I started all this year last year and I'm so glad I did. I'd gained about 30 lbs. after meeting Kyran and I felt disgusting so it was my 2011 New Years Resolution...I stuck to it and now am 125 which was always my norm. I don't eat over 1400 cals a day except on weekends, then I allow myself to splurge. I do Billy Blanks tae bo 3 to 5 days a week and my friend and I try to walk as much as possible...altho she works full time so it's not always easy! But I actually wore a bikini at my brothers for the first time in years!!!

You can do it Debbie:)

I recently started exercising. I've been meaning to start since the new year began but only just started three days ago. Better late then never. I really like doing interval training. It helps keep my workouts short but I always feel I made the most out of ten minutes. They can get intense fast which is good. :) I also discovered Zumba like two weeks ago. I'd heard of it before but never knew what it was and I LOVE it. I found some fun videos online that I've been doing at home. I hope I can keep it up. I have much weight I want to lose this year. :)

Oh, Debbie! I have been doing more sitting than usual on front of the computer also. Not good!
After having everybody home for the holidays, I finally have a little more time to myself and I am really enjoying it!LOL
Although I always keep very busy, the last few weeks, I have been kind of lazy. I blame the rain! LOL
Zumba class sounds like a lot of fun!

Hi Debbie. I am trying to move more!! Well, let me explain. I move alright! I move from sun up to sun down. I am a very high energy person, and I am not still for more than a few minutes here and there. And actually, blogging is good for me, because it is about the only time I sit. I run after my 4 year old grandson all day, every day, M-F!! Add in my other daughter's two girls many a times, and I one busy lady! But...but...but...I am not doing any cardio. I used to run a few miles a day, 5 days a week. Not doable in my life right now. But my husband and I have been hitting the tennis ball around quite a bit. And I plan to do more of those types of things. Move more vigorously. Get my heart rate up. I also bought Jillian's Yoga DVD the other day, and hope to get some Yoga in.
I love Zumba...and dance. May have to get the Wii Zumba. I hear it is really good.
Have a great weekend Debbie!

Debbie,
I used to do the Jane Fonda videos after my son was born, waaaaay back in 1982. She has new ones out today, so I bought the instant videos and watch them on my computer from Amazon. Oh yes, I not only watch them, I work out with her. She is in great shape and 72! I also, was introduced to some new skin care products, when I got a facial on our Elvis cruise. It is called Elemis and I love it! Keep up the exercise!

When the weathers starts getting nicer, I plan on walking in the morning with an I-pod. My husband gave me his. I'm actually looking forward to starting my day out like that. I love walking around my subdivision when it's pretty and we've got some good hills to give me a challenge too. Ha!

I like to have my coffee and check the blogs first thing in the morning but I find that the time just slips away. I'm like you, I get into a certain mode or habit and it is hard to break. When the weather is warm I like to walk...although I have a treadmill {shhhh!}, it is SO boring! Can you believe I have never heard of Zumba?!! What IS it?

XO,
Jane

I am continuing on my no sugar/no flour plan and feeling more and more wonderful about it. I hope to start walking again as soon as I get this ankle in a quieted state.

I also know that I need to moisturize more than just my face and neck on a daily basis and I am going to do that.

Good luck with your resolutions to improve your health and well-being. It helps to be accountable, doesn't it? xo Diana

I've always take care of my skin since I was a teenager and now that I'll be 61 this year I'd say it helped alot, I always where sunscreen on my face. I've lost 10lbs and feel alot better then I did last year at this time.
Loved your post today:)
