Halloween Mantel

Yes, indeed I changed up my mantel once again.
I loved the Fall one, and certainly will go back to it after Halloween.  Who knows I may even change it up a bit more!
I only have two more Halloween posts after this peeps, so bare with me OK?
Thank you~

I bought this banner at Marshalls recently. It was only $6.99, no brainer, SOLD!

Mike and I went to a yard sale the other day up the street.  His idea, can you believe it?
I bought this silver ice bucket for $2.00!

My little dollar tree silver skulls, and you can see a little mouse there too!

I loved this little witch I bought last year at Marshalls, can you tell I love that place?
Those colorful spiders or ants, Marshalls too!

I love my new throw..it is so cozy and warm.  {Walmart}

Stupid clock has to get in my way...shhhh...don't tell Mike I said that!

Not too spooky this year, just enough to get the gist!

Here is a peek at something Mike bought at the Garage sale...
I could not believe he wanted this thing...

It was a wine rack I guess used in a restaurant....Mike really liked it..so of course the Man gets what he wants.
HA~

It actually looks pretty good in person.  He placed his favorite beer bottles that he collects, and we threw in some old books, and conversation pieces.

He loved the lock, and he said that is what attracted him...

It's definitely different.

Thanks for stopping over and your sweet comments.

DIY drop cloth pillow {Lucy hates it}

This is an easy DIY drop cloth pillow idea for you.
I decided this post may be a better GUTS post for Donna's challenge than my original thoughts.
Ya know for Halloween decorating, it is NOT all about my boys! I do have a little girl in the house that requires some attention too!
I bought this cute skull bling bling tattoo at Walmart for a few bucks.
Again, never knowing what I will come up with.
Today, it hit me.  I have some drop clothes, my no sew liquid stitch glue, craft paint, and off I went.

First I rolled some black craft paint all over my cut squares.

I did first iron the fabric and glue stitch the three sides leaving the top open for stuffing later on.

I then ironed on my skull tattoo as followed by the directions on the package.
As you can see I took some red craft paint and drizzled it on for the effect of blood.

I stenciled little Lucy's initial on it, to make it her OWN.

And there you have Lucy's little dog bed decked out for Halloween!

So Luce what do you think?

I think I am exhausted, and I can't sleep on that thing...

Oh well, looks cute anyhow, go on the couch or on my bed!
Hope you enjoyed the DIY drop cloth spooked out pillow.

Have a great day!

Boy's playroom/TV Room dressed up in Halloween decor {NEWBIE party started}

Happy Sunday to all! You ready for the newbie party?
Sure hope so, I am anxious to get to it!
Alex is NOT having a Halloween party this year.  Jack will have one next year when he goes to Middle school.  That is when the parties start getting fun!
I did however, perk up their TV room with some fun treats!

Most all my Halloween decor came from the dollar tree. The plush pumpkins I have had for years, can't remember where those came from.

I printed some cute graphics from the Graphics Fairy and popped them in the existing frames that I have in here already.

Such an easy solution to quick Holiday art work.

Spiders and skulls, Dollar tree.

This little pumpkin witch is so cute. I have no clue where I bought her...MOM did you give me her?

Everything in this corner has just touch of spook!

I think it looks so darn cute in here. I just want to sit and cast a spell...a good one of course!

Happy Halloween decorating!
Let's get this party started!

HGTV featured my 2010 Halloween table!

Today, I happened to stumble across HGTV's  Halloween decorating ideas
I still go on their site often for inspiration.
Can you imagine my surprise and  shock when I saw MINE was amongst the fabulous ideas shown. They never let me know, therefore, I had no clue.

It was because of the RMS {rate my space} friends that I made, that I started a blog with all their encouragement. There are so many to speak of, I would not even know where to begin.
Thank you HGTV/RMS!~

You opened doors for me, I never would have dreamed of.
Oh and from what I hear, {Kim} you will be happy about this too, they are making some positive changes over there....perhaps their rating and comment moderation system.
What all did come about for me being a part of that system....and/or network was this.....

Friendships, blogging, magazine feature, just to name a few. I would have never put myself out there like I have. I suppose, I just did not have the confidence in myself.  Not that I am all confident now, because believe me, I AM NOT...I'm just not afraid to expose myself anymore. It's not easy.  What I have learned along the way is....
When one door closes, another one opens
{or vice versa, I always screw these sort of cliche's up}
Hold on to your dreams....
I still have a few more I would like to fulfill....so I keep on keeping!
You just never know what is next for you in life.
So go for it TODAY!
You may view the feature

I was just thinking yesterday, I need to get on, my Halloween table scape for this year.
Last years was a lot of FUN!

Note sure what I will come up with, this year.

I guess you will just have to stay tuned!
I still have my mantel, some outdoors and my little spanish table to share with you.
Whew...I have been busy this season for sure.
Thank you so much stopping over. I am giddy with delight that HGTV featured me, and just had to share. I know really it is not that  big  of a deal.
However, the history I have had there, it certainly had me tickled!

Halloween decorating ideas!

I know it is a catch 22 for Halloween decorating.
Some of my readers are empty nesters now and no longer get into it like they used to.
Some are still kids at heart and love it....so you never know.

Because I have two boys, I still get into it.
There will be NO Halloween parties this year at our house, however, there will still be some decorating.
Let me show you some inspiration I have found, and some things I just may try to create.

I noticed this year at Michael's Martha Stewart has expanded her line of crafts and decor, these lables or similar ones she features.

Love this centerpiece idea...

Here are a few of my past Halloween decorating ideas...

Simple lampshade embellishments and some dollar tree skulls.

Can't wait to get out my big skeleton head...

I love to do fun table scapes too...

Our front porch was my favorite last year...not sure what I will come up with this Halloween.

I even made a fun Halloween wreath last year.

Hope I gave you some inspiring fun new ideas.
Even if you don't decorate for Halloween, perhaps you will throw in a few spiders and skeletons this year.
It's fun, easy and cheap,
go to the Dollar tree!
DO you decorate for Halloween?
Have a great day!
As always thanks for taking the time to come by and chat it up with me!

Decorating with White pumpkins!

That's right, that is exactly what I plan on doing this year!
 Decorating with white pumpkins~
My friend Becca beat me to it.

But that's OK, she inspired me, and it was so cute..
take a look.
She used her Annie Sloan Old White chalk paint.

If I know Becca, she has more up her sleeve!
So you better be on the look out for Becca's Fall decorating, she is AWESOME!

Here are some more white pumpkin decorating ideas.
Now y'all know I am not much of a white girl...
well you know what I mean...
I like a lot of color...
I think I will mix the white with orange..

This looks pretty!

Maybe I could even do a little mod podge on them...

Look how pretty they look on a Thanksgiving table..

I am certain whatever I come up with in the next few weeks...

there will be a white pumpkin or two...

Have a great day!~

What do you think of White pumpkins?
A yay or a nay?

Witchy ways!

As you can see I have added to the whole Witch appeal out here. I found these hats and thought how cute to put them on the planters.
As you can see I added witches hats to the planters......
Not too much going on here....HA!

Of course the tree was inspired by Pottery barn. I happened to find a really cute tree Limb broken in our yard.
Sure is a far witches cry from the Summer porch!
Oh and did you notice my blue cross is now Orange? Of course all my color choices are always by Krylon. The orange is Pumpkin.
