Halloween Mantel

Yes, indeed I changed up my mantel once again.
I loved the Fall one, and certainly will go back to it after Halloween.  Who knows I may even change it up a bit more!
I only have two more Halloween posts after this peeps, so bare with me OK?
Thank you~

I bought this banner at Marshalls recently. It was only $6.99, no brainer, SOLD!

Mike and I went to a yard sale the other day up the street.  His idea, can you believe it?
I bought this silver ice bucket for $2.00!

My little dollar tree silver skulls, and you can see a little mouse there too!

I loved this little witch I bought last year at Marshalls, can you tell I love that place?
Those colorful spiders or ants, Marshalls too!

I love my new throw..it is so cozy and warm.  {Walmart}

Stupid clock has to get in my way...shhhh...don't tell Mike I said that!

Not too spooky this year, just enough to get the gist!

Here is a peek at something Mike bought at the Garage sale...
I could not believe he wanted this thing...

It was a wine rack I guess used in a restaurant....Mike really liked it..so of course the Man gets what he wants.
HA~

It actually looks pretty good in person.  He placed his favorite beer bottles that he collects, and we threw in some old books, and conversation pieces.

He loved the lock, and he said that is what attracted him...

It's definitely different.

Thanks for stopping over and your sweet comments.

Decorating with sentiment

Have I ever mentioned that family loves to pass down things of sentiment to us?
Between my family and Mike's family we have many family heirlooms at this point in our lives, and are very lucky indeed to have them.
My FIL's last visit was no different this time. His car was packed to the gills with more stuff.
The thing is, we get really good stuff.
He gave us this gorgeous tea set from Germany, that was Mike's Grandmothers.  I thought oh where can I put this beauty?
Well I was able to display some of it.
I have been Spring cleaning, and did our mantel over.
Our mantel has always been a source of decorating conflict..the clock must stay, and I want it to go!

Why does my husband have to have a say in the matter?

Love decorating with old books too...this tea set is just gorgeous!

Live greenery, I think I can handle keeping it alive, I hope!

Thanks for stopping and by and as always your kind comments..
Have a great night!
Oh and who says tea cups can't go on a mantel?
I do not follow any decorating guidelines, I do what I like:)
I will be joining:
and please mark your calenders for Lucy's big event...

Mantel PaRty Friday~~~

I do not have a mantel this week to share as I have shown my Valentine display last week.  I thought with Spring right around the corner I would do my homework and share what is new, fresh and exciting for mantel displays.  Photo's are courtesy of Martha Stewart and BH&G.  It seems to all be about asymmetrical, layering, and repetition.  I seem to do all the wrongs of it LOL!!~ I truly believe your style should reflect you and what you like.  My Mantel has been difficult to work with because we have the opening in which a TV should be there......I personally do not like a TV above a main focal point!!~ These are beautiful ideas, and my favorite was the pops of yellow, I will do something like this in Spring to bring in a cheery color.  Hope this inspires you:)  Debbie

OLD WorLd Mantel Party~~hosted by Beth with the Stories from A to Z.....please see her link:)

This is our fireplace mantel with some Valentine Decorations. You will see the nook where a TV was suppose to be. We added a candelier from Z-gallerie that was a 10 year anniversary gift. We have displayed a very old sessions clock from the 1930's and some old books. We love Old World Gothic style so I recently added the crosses where I purchased at Pier I. I love mixing old with new. Thanks for letting me participate and please see the link on my task bar to view more beautiful mantles.
