Tattoo Mat

This is not an earth shattering project. However, I think it is worthy of a blog post, and could potentially save you a few bucks, and perhaps give you some ideas of your own.
I had this plain bamboo rug tucked away in a closet and I thought I could jazz it up a bit.
I saw a few of these tattoo mats on
Home Decorators.com
I had also seen Miss Mustard seed has a large one in her Dining room that I love!
although, not a bad price of $28.00 for a 2x3, I thought I would make my own, basically for free, because I already had the mat, stencil, and paint (stencil paint) on hand.
This is an inspiration mat
The plain BEFORE

Paint still wet! I am such a patient person NOT!

I chose to write Est. 2006, as that was the year we bought our home here in South Carolina.

So if you have a bamboo rug, and you want to jazz up...GO for it, it was fun!
There are so many stencils out there to choose from.  I just used what I already had. This, I am considering my first practice one.  I learned it is not that easy to stencil on bamboo. I may use a small roller next time instead of a stencil brush....It kind of is blotchy in spots.
This mat is in the front of our bedroom patio door..I do go in and out of that door often. This will hopefully catch the muck I bring in sometimes.
