Newbie party started!
When I hung my 96 inch curtains in our bedroom, they came up about 2 inches short.
Not sure if it was the curtains or the windows, but I had to make a quick fix.

I have seen this done before via blog land...more on the sewing end though. I am not much into sewing..but I can work a hot glue gun.

| I bought a bed skirt from Goodwill for $2.00, laundered it first of course. |

| Cut to size and started the hot glue process! |

| Perfecto, they now touch to the floor! |

Love how the curtains turned out, but not so sure the manicure will catch on LOL. You seem to be a master with a glue gun, its sorda like duct tape nothing it can't fix.

Clever solution - attractive result, too! Thankful I can do the same with sewing and less damage to the nail :)
Don't cha love finding the perfect bed skirt that can be used for something else & for cheap? I've made pillows, made ruffles for others things and skirts for chairs out of bed skirts I've found at Goodwill. I LOVE the idea of adding them to curtains. Yours turned out perfect : )

Great idea, Debbie. Love the little ruffle showing. At least your nails look a whole lot better than mine. I don't even get my nails done anymore with all this painting it is pointless.

Oh Yeah, hot glue rules! I've used it for a multitude of decor projects, including upholstering an entire sofa. Your curtains look fantastic!

The curtains look really cute and the fix was simple.
I had to smile at the fingernail. I've given myself more than a few really bad hot glue gun burns on my thumbs and pointer fingers.
Oh Darlin'! Those hot glue guns should be illegal. Never a time goes by, that I use it, that I don't melt a nail, or my hair. Your poor finger!!!
However, the curtains look better than new!! A fabulous idea that looks so good!! Your nail is worth the sacrifice!! Very soon another magazine will be writing to ask to do a bbedroom photoshoot!!

You gotta love that glue gun. The ruffled lace looks really nice on the bottom of the curtains and what a great idea. I'm always using my glue gun when sewing! As for the fingernails, yours still look amazing next to mine.

thats a mighty painful injury,, nothing hurts like hot glue,,very crafty though,,I've never glued cloth like that,, does it wash well?

Ouchie! I was told years ago to always have a small dish of ice water handy whenever I'm using the hot glue gun. Do I do that? Not usually, but it is a good idea! I think that's a super-cool quick fix. The drapes look lovely.

Wow, Debbie! I never would have thought of turning a bedskirt into a curtain, what a great idea! I don't like sewing either, so I'll have to remember your glue gun trick (minus the burn, of course....owie!)!
Debbie, Ouch, guess what, I was at a thrift store 2 weeks ago and they had a low heat glue gun for $3.00, I did not know they existed! OMG it has changed my glueing world! You can touch the glue fresh out of the gun and it does not burn, it is amazing and seems to do just as good a job. Now, why do they even make the glue guns that burn our skin off!

RUN to the craft store and buy Fabric-Tac glue. It bonds fabrics and bonds them quickly and very strongly, too. I have used it now for several years and find I cannot be without it. I buy mine at Hancocks fabrics.

I could go in for a life of crime, I am sure I have burned my fingerprints competely off with a hot glue gun over the years. The drapes do look good with that eyelet edging though.
Hot glue is definitely HOT! I have burned myself countless times and have scars to prove it. You are lucky it only melted away your nail, toots~

OMG Debbie!!! I hate getting burnt by the glue gun, but I think this takes the cake! That is maybe a Halloween manicure? Just looks painful and likely to hurt someone!

that eyelet lace goes sooo well with your decor in that room (which i love by the way). i had the same problem with my curtains (only i have about a 10 inch gap. i found some fabric to make a band at the bottom. will let you know when i get them done :)

Would never know those are glue-gunned curtains! I made a skirt for my computer table and totally hot glued part of the hem. Glad to know I'm not alone! Linking up to your party again-thanks :)
