And they call it mellow yellow....
Once again participating in my favorite partay of the week, Miss Jenny's Alphabet Rainbow party. YELLOW!!~ Is the color this week. So it Seems it is a little quiet these days for thrifting. I managed to hit Goodwill the other day with my son Jack. He grosses out at the thought that these things where actually other peoples, I reassured him we clean them good of other peoples cooties. I found this little tray, it is not silver just something cheap made in China...but none the less cute with some pretty detail. Took me little time to clean it and transform it to life again.
BEFORE....I paid $2.99 for this little tray...I just thought it was cute though....and what color did I choose you ask????
Little paint, little craft glaze later...I have an elegant little platter...
I just love this photo is all.....I will be re-posting this tomorrow sometime for my Garage SALEN partay...see you then for linking up.
Here are some parties I will be joining as well:

Your tray does have great lines and it looks terrific in yellow! It looks wonderful in your dining room!
Love it!!!! I need to add some color to my house. I love good finds like that... my DD gets freaked out when we visit Goodwill.... she says it smells funny! kids!
Hi Debbie, A bit of elbow grease and some paint and look what you got! I love the color you used, so pretty!
Hugz,
Kim
I am such a sucker for leaves. I would have bought it too - I don't know if I would have thought to paint it though. Paint isn't always my first thought - but I think paint was a great idea!!
I sided with Jack when I saw the before part! The after looks really classy! You're sooo fun!!
I know you're not old enough to remember when that song was popular (post title), but I give you big points for knowing your music so well! The tray is great the way you spruced it all up. It does have neat detail. Good find!
Nancy
What a great idea! I would never have thought of painting the tray. It looks great! I love your dishes Debbie!

I just love your little tray and your pretty kitchen!
You had me going! I was thinking, is she really going to keep that silver? I love the color you chose for this and the glaze job you did! It is perfect! It's going to look great this fall with those leaves on it too! I really love it girlfriend! You did great! LOL! My older son and his friends, college kids all LOVE GW! The highschooler not so much! LOL! :)
That tray is very cute and I like it both ways. Of course you spray painted it. You are with spray paint like I am with glazing. My daughter and I went in a Goodwill store last weekend after the flea market store and she was grossed out, too. She could not wait to leave.
It looks like a high end designer tray now! Great job!
I am having a CSN giveaway too! Come enter if you have time.

I have got to remember the paint trick next time I find something that needs a bit of "polish". The tray is lovely. ~ Sarah

Great job Debbie! You could take anything and make it look current and awesome!
Beautiful tablescape Debbie. I love what you did with the platter. Those flowers are gorgeous.

You are awesome! You can make anything cute! Love the yellow!

What a cute little tray that turned out to be!
Hi Debbie! Your tray is divine! Your home is lovely and it makes a wonderful addition. Thanks for sharing. Hugs Anne
Dearest Debbie,
What a genius idea for transforming that tray the way you did! The supplies were almost more expensive than the object itself...
Great images, looks very neat.
Greetings from Georgia,

P.S. Just curious about Debbiedoos as doos in Dutch means box...
That really turned out well~ much prettier in yellow!
Beautiful dining room set, I love it!
Beautiful dining room set, I love it!
That turned out beautiful! So bright and cheery :)
Debbie,
As long as it has great detail any old tray will do, with oor without cooties!. It looks great. Debbie, do you think my stool in the "Donotapul"this weeks post will work for garage salen? I sold it at my antique store within a day.
Carol
That is such a cute tray!! I would have never thought to paint it. Love the runner there and your pretty table setting!
Wonderful find and love the transformation of it.
Tomorrow is senior day at the local thrift store...I need to go see what I can find.. maybe a treasure such as yours
Yellow is the perfect color!
Everything in your home is so darn pretty and pulled together. I look at your photos and sigh! My fave is the first one of the sun streaming through the windows onto the table. Niiiiiiiiiiiice!
It looks great as yellow and on your table! You are so talented with the paint!!! My boys don't want to go with me anywhere! Especially if they think it is shopping!
Your son's aversion to thrifting sounds just like my dad's - except he insists that we're looking at 'dead peoples' stuff' - thanks Dad, that'a a charming thought...of course it doesn't stop me!
Great job on the platter.
i can see why you got this lovely leaf tray the detail is great love the leafs can see you going to fall it looks great in your gathering room:)
great light for taking those pics - gorgeous :D
That little tray is a great find!
=)
I love how you transformed that little tray. Because I'm weird, the first picture with the yellow lights reflected was my favorite.
Perfect in that room. I would have been so afraid to paint it. But of course you were right!
Beautiful tray, Debbie! The details on the sides are just fantastic.
great find in that little tray. I think I might need to do that too.. paint something..
Fun tray -- Love how you've revived it!
Love that little tray, and yellow was the perfect color. I LOVE your dining room!
What an adorable little find!
You have such a neat style all around your home, Miss Debbie. I really admire how you put all these cool things together!
No garage sales here in AZ right now. Too wickedly hot! But as soon as I start going again I'll link up to your Garage Salen! That's a fun meme!
I enjoyed seeing you here today!
Thank you for linking.
A+
Well, first of all, I love silver anything. I don't care if it is cheap stuff either. I actually put some of my tarnished silver...which looks yellow...on my post for the day. But, I loved the idea of painting it gold. I recently bought a silver tray and the inside was painted with chalk board paint. Great idea too! I also watched your little video and I will be back to check out some more.
great transformation! i also love your tablescape...can i admit that seeing the grapes made me run downstairs to the fridge and grab a handful myself? oh the power of persuasion...now if i could just get off my duff and scour the goodwill for a nifty find like yours, i would be all set!
You're going to have fun using this lovely tray for years to come. I think that it will be a 'go to' piece. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
Hey, Deb!!
I am totally loving what you did with that sweet tray!! I adore it in yellow. And you have given me a great idea for a tray that I currently just have a primer on and was dabating how to finish it! Thanks again for another fantastic idea!!
Hugs.
Debbie
What a beautiful table setting, so inviting!
Your treatment of the tray is just lovely! Such a pretty table.
Beautiful table...the tray looks so nice with the grapes.
What a clever girl you are!!! That is such a great idea and to think I have thrown out so many things like that - naughty me!
Your table looks very sweet. I love the yellow!
I love how that tray turned out!! I have GOT to ask, though - totally unrelated - where'd you get the cute table runner? (Or did you make it?) Love it!
I love the rooster painting. Blessings, Janet
