Garage salen #13

Top of the Friday Morning to you all!!~ This party almost did not happen this week.  It has been a crazy busy week for us around here. As you know the boys started school this week. Aside from the gazillions of paper work and the kidney donation to the school I also had two social outings with friends.  Left me little time for much else. However, I decided to feature something I did early on in my blogging career...it was a very cool find at an antique store.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_5tOA2F7YKT4/S4aTgd8ZCII/AAAAAAAAAto/n_50P7qC3hY/s400/102_2994.JPG
Can you guess what it is?

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_5tOA2F7YKT4/S4aTpUyvk9I/AAAAAAAAAt4/-yInxV4y4XU/s400/102_2999.JPG
You guessed correctly!

My husband noticed it from a far and I loved it.  And I thought at 40.00 seemed like a good price to me.  I have since priced them out, and they go up to as much as 300.00.  Regardless it goes perfectly in our home, and again another cool conversation piece! I would also like to give a shout out to all the awesome  and courageous firefighters we have today! What a job, and they do it so well, without hesitation to rescuing lives! WOW, what would we do with out them? Do you know any firefighters?

NOW onto a few features from last weeks party!!~ Every week I seem to meet new blogging friends and see some awesome finds. I am amazed at how many women are out here blogging, creating and sharing unique and savvy ideas!~ I love it, and thank you all for participating. You know the gig! Link back to me, be courteous and visit a few other gals as well.
Next score..... my friend Linda finds the greatest trinkets, and glass ware...she has just about every color too!

I just loved this next find from VINTAGE southerner...pretty color

That extinguisher is so cool. Now that was a great find. I hope to someday be a part of your garage salen party, as of now I am a terrible garage saler. I just don't have the eye for finding the great stuff. I pledge to keep trying though so maybe next time.

Kidney donation?! Whose?

Beautiful copper fire extinguisher. We have an aluminum? one my sis gave us. She'd gotten it at a garage sale. Our neighbor is a firefighter and my DH is a cop. We have quite a few cops in our neighborhood. God bless them all!!

The extinguisher is awesome! Love the patina of it.

Yes, I know a firefighter. What a good man he is as my girlfriend can attest to considering that it is her husband.

Hey busy lady! That's really cool. I've never seen or noticed it before by your fireplace. Love the copper coloring. So funny about the kidney donation. You are joking right. It is amazing the mounds of paperwork that is sent home every year at the beginning of school isn't it. Just wait until they are in highschool then it's hand over all your money for everything. To top things off at the grocery store yesterday the cashier asked me would I like to purchase a box of rice crispy treats for the high school. I just dropped my jaw and said absolutely NOT. I hate to sound ugly but they have already taken all the money I have. She just stared at me with great big eyeballs. LOL! I mean do they really think they need community fundraisers at the same time we already have to pay out so much just to get them enrolled. Sorry to rant, but Ughhh!

I had some comments about your donating a kidney as well but you are in lick. We're having a storm and my power could go off any moment. Want to thank you for hosting.
Out here in the country almost everyone is a firefighter but I have friends (and a big brother) on depts in bigger cities as well. I've been through some training and think I can handle an extinguisher. (Aim at the base of the flame!)
A very cool find and beautiful addition to your room.

Oh my, I love where you put it in the house! Now, my hubby would LOVE to have out little red fire extinguisher (new, not in the least antique looking and pretty tacky) mounted on the kitchen wall. I keep it under the sink instead. But yours looks great on the family room wall.
