I can see a connection....

Today I was going through emails regarding features, questions,  and all that good stuff.
I started thinking about all of us women, like how we came together, and what exactly lead me here to blogging. I figured I would put this post out for the newbies, they may be interested...
http://images.zap2it.com/images/tv-EP01050724/rate-my-space.jpg
Most of you know, I was encouraged by a few on RMS (rate my space).
I then encouraged many of you whom are here today...y'all know who you are..I would have to sit and really think on that one, because I do believe there is a a couple of handfuls at this point....

One thing that brought a lot of us here is our creativity. And for some of us, it was just to start a journal of life,  family times, recipes, etc..
Whatever the reason, I want to say thank you for being here along with me.
The times that I wanted to stop and take breaks, were mostly times of self reflecting and trying to figure out what I was doing, or not doing.
I am by nature a people pleaser...my bad, because I can't please everyone, and I have learned that along the way.

Ya know I am a deep thinker sometimes...I know trouble, trouble!
Some of my friendships here  make perfect sense as to why we are friends, and others, I don't even try to make sense of it. We just like each other, and that is good enough for me. Keep that in mind all you newbies, sometimes the least expected of friendships will turn up, and you would have never thought otherwise.

These two ladies, have been extremely sweet to me, as many, many, many of you have been.
Now you would wonder, how I could make a connection with these ladies....
not sure, but I did, and I adore them...

I met her on RMS (rate my space).
Ginger would actually correspond with my Mom on occasion, and  my Mom in turn  always made sure to tell me she was asking about me, and would say such sweetness.
THen one day up pops Savannah Granny in blog land.
If you do not know her, she is a real hoot.  A great personality with a real zest for life.
Ginger recently shared how to organize your cabinets..https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhgEPga2CgUehnvCNVAGplPlb57JcT2qNSdhFPtnGosEAS2KveVwQlUD9lWN2VNLYQp1s6yuWX_ESa9WpvKb5kr5Lt3bu-TTcvGSqL-8aY0p0FaZ_uaCiSUzFJB-S6i1xfQiNw6HfsdLg/s640/coffee+cupboard.JPG
and no she just did not make them neat she actually added the shelving..it was a great idea.
I think Ginger is having a lot of fun here in blog land, and that just tickles me.

Then there is my friend Granny's attic
look at her cute little Valentine vignette...she is a craft lady...
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCV6E0Oj93iI4XwuBYy_qDjyPQERLTr7W3_zIpqiYX1zRv2qSYqW9pJ4rrRr2d2rUZwoz60UQfey5E0gXYQWyZ6Up0vVz_orUJlO_OHRzKWTYiU5gbSpgsMjad3Qeb4m2v8mJVUdk77m9l/s400/100_1610.JPG
I do believe she has been reading my blog from very early on.
https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirMpHCDb_nDZcrGc-6wDYylA8Lz6tVFRB_7iihveGfPcRFsyOJU9J7hjUVRhz3PYdfn5ltVjah9bG5ADGhEwv9eUifVidunMRR4Qo1tZ0V_MxvZiieUDFbaOlfg7SPQcL6g7cfstZhC62x/s320/100_1484.JPG
I see in her having the same zest for life and family that Ginger has ( Savannah Granny)
I wonder if they are friends yet?
Well they should be...and I just wanted to let you gals know about them too!
Enjoy your Saturday night.  It is cold and windy here, and my chili is smelling fine!
So what brought you to blogland? Do you
Love it,  are you confused at times? Frustrated? Happy?, tell me your thoughts.......
For the record...I am very happy,
I am doing exactly what I was meant to be doing,
it is very clear to me now.
Now....if there were only enough hours  in a day!

I have been following those two since I found them through your blog (they were newbies I believe). You are right-they are both creative and fun people.

I didn't know that you came from RateMySpace until just a couple of weeks ago...I don't even know HOW I found you- I think through Kim's blog maybe...but I am so glad I did. You are right- I have met "neighbors" that I would have never known without blogging. For me- blogging has been a blessing...Now..doesn't that have a nice ring to it?

Debbie I think you nailed it. It is a place where we can ourselves. Share our lives, thoughts, creativity without being judged (at least to much) we can share laughter, tender moments and support.
We learn that we can are more capable then we thought by taking on a new project, learning some new tidbit or just watch out for each other.

I am a newbie as far as really starting... but I am loving this world. I can be me and to those in blog land that is good enough. LOVE your blog!

I too have questioned this adventure. I've thought (thinking out loud here) why do I (we) does this? Is there something lacking, do we need encouragement that we are not already receiving, do we desire to show our homes for compliments or share our hearts to maybe help someone who is going through something we've already journeyed through - but whatever the answer may be - IT IS TRULY AMAZING HOW LIVES & HEARTS HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TOGETHER!

Thanks for sharing..I will definitey go and check These two ladies out..
I have a confesion to make: I alwas thought blogging and reading
other's blogs were lame..
I mean...who had the time?
Untill I started doing it.Now I understand that it is a whole new world of potetial friends nd kindred spirits out there. A support system.
I started blogging because I was
driving my friends nuts wanting them to come over at all hours to show them my latest bargain or creation..
Sharing this with others is more than half the fun of it all..

I love blogging as it has brought out the creative side in me - both for ideas and photography. I really intended that my blog would be a home decorating blog, but I'm far too slow at getting projects done to get enough posts so I just post what catches my eye and pleases my fancy. It is very eclectic - like me.

I'm off to check out your two friend's blogs.

I am not a crafty girl but you ladies inspire me so. I follow so many women who craft and it's just amazing. I cannot even remember how I found your blog but I did, and I'm so glad I did! Blogging is wonderful but everyone has to remember one thing? Blog for YOU and nobody else. I love online shopping especially for kids sales, so I decided to make a blog on it. Of course I throw in recipes, and family as well.

I have to say Debbie, you are a hoot and I am glad you were one of my first followers and encouragers :) I started a blog to have someone to talk to, basically, to share whatever I had on my mind or was creating at the time. Plus, I am going to school for Interior Design (internet) and it is so hard to do this without a classroom environment?
I have to admit I am still a bit intimidated to share much design, because you all have such gorgeous homes already :)
I guess blogging is kind of like a quilting circle, but instead of making a friendship fabric quilt, we are making a friendship blogging quilt. You know what I mean, you feel all warm and safe when you wrap yourself up in it :)
Anyway, I just love everyone that I have met so far by blogging, but I am still new, LOL.

My blog primarily came to be because everyone I knew was creating one... and when I say everyone I knew, I mean the online friends I had made many years ago when we all had 'family websites'! We would journal back then but add lots of pictures of our babies and homes... my website back then was a lot for my family in England so they could see my little girl as she started growing up.

I like what Chrissy said because in a way I too started blogging to have someone to talk to. Blogland is really fun because it's a bunch of nice women who are all perfectly comfortable being themselves. You have such a magnetic personality, it's no wonder you have met so many nice people through blogging.

Oh Debbie!! I agree..."...if there were only enough hours in a day!"

When I started my blog (I didnt even know what a blog was, until our daughter showed us hers!), it was only possible (at least in my eyes, cuz I am not computer savvy!!!) to attempt a blog, after my sweet daughter won a blog makeover, but gifted it to me so that I could have a blog of my very own :o)

It has been soooo amazing to me to have met all the blogger friends that I would not have ever met if it were not for my blog. I would have loved if my mom had a blog when she was growing up or if blogs were around when I was growing up or mine were still little...they are such a wonderful way to record events and photos. And it was suggested to me to get my art on line, so this has been a wonderful avenue...I usually do one or more shows a year, but this past year, I didnt even have to, since I have been blessed with interest and art orders through my blog.

I have laughed, am encouraged, inspired and just appreciate all the blog friendships along the way... And look forward to more. Thank you for being one of those amazing blog friends :o)

Blessings & Aloha!
I'm on my way to meet those you shared on your post.

I found you today, and thought, I am a newbie...to blogging that is, but I as old as dirt in the real world. I have a blog, and it sits there waiting for me to do something with it. I am in between with wanting to share my passion for creating...and also wanting my privacy. How does it all meld together, how do I get it all set up.

I see some blogs, and I just want to come in and sit down and spend some time there. That's the kind of person I am, I want my blog to reflect that....oh to get it all together...back to my thinking...

What brought me to blog land? I have no idea. I think I found a link to a senior's blog from college and was so inspired that I created my own.

I have had amazing friendships from blog land that seem a tad bit less amazing now. I still find newer people who become friends and/or inspirations. I think I've just found my balance in knowing how much emotion to invest into it. :)

As of now, my blog is my sounding board.

I started on RMS and made lots of great connections. I even made one very special friend and we see each other often. (my daughter cannot believe I am that I am good friends with someone I met on the internet. Ha!)
It took me a long time to start blogging--like until 2 weeks ago, but I always checked out other's blogs. It is so much fun to witness the sheer creativity of those online!

Blogging seems so much easier to connect with people and I love it!

A big THANK YOU to you, Debbie for having your Newbie party last week and allowing so many people to find my new blog! You're the best!

Have a great day!

Not only have you inspired me but you have also gave so much of your time to help all of us new bloggers and make us feel so special. BIG thank you for caring!!!

Hi Debbie
My daughters each had blogs to post the children's activities for the family members far away, that was my first exposure to blogging. Then, I googled some topic and was led to my very first "stranger" blog. At first I wasn't even sure what it was! That began a year of looking and lurking!!
I started my blog because I am too lazy to scrapbook, and I thought that it would be easier.
Now, I am just trying to get blogging in its right perspective ~ you can spend a lot of time on the web!!

I want to thank you Debbie, for being so kind and helpful answering my questions a while back. It means a lot ~ so many blogs get to the "professional" stage, and it's hard to imagine there is even someone there.

Well, this turned into a book, and it was just meant to say thanks for being a friendly, helpful blogger to so many!

I got hooked on blogs just over a year ago. I think I was looking up ideas for the holidays and found some blogs. It was all new to me but I got hooked pretty quickly reading them late into the night. I was so down about moving here to FL and missing everyone in GA. It really helped me connect with people again. People who could understand my create outlets. It was maybe 6 months later I finally got the nerve to start my own. Boy was that scary! But it's been great and everyone was very welcoming and helpful. You and your blog showed me that you can just be yourself and I think that is why everyone love you and loves coming here.

This is such a great question.
I don't think there are too many places where you can hook up with say (in your case) a 1000+ people or so who share your passion for the same things *winks* It's kind of mind boggling isn't it? I've never met a nicer group of people anywhere in my life. Anyhoo I'm really glad to have found you here in blogaritaville!... better late than never right? *winks* Vanna

I love blogging - it's my little bit of me time. Sometimes it's easy to feel like I'm not really doing anything as a SAHM, but blogging lets me document all that I actually do. If I'm helping others out at the same time - fantastic! But even if noone read my blog, it'd still be satisfying, because I'm able to put down in words what I've been up to.

It's allowed me to connect with likeminded people. Sometimes I can go all day playing with Thomas trains or in the stands at a sports tournament. Blogging lets me shed the mommy cloak for a little bit. Even though I talk about my kids on my blog occasionally, it's still my just me time.

Thanks for this post! It was nice to see what others are getting out of blogging.
