Seriously?
Note, the paper that I used was actually thick, almost like a scrap book texture. It was sold at hobby lobby, with all the papers, construction, etc.
HOWEVER, I had a light bulb moment after I did it on paper...what I could have done, and yes burlap would have worked. But even better, are the painters tarps...
They are thick and lined...I have a project planned, if all goes well I will show you that too...even if it does not go well, I will show you that too.
These are the colors I used for the frame. The frame I purchased at Hobby lobby for half off.
I painted the interior the metallic green, and the outer edge red. Lightly sanded so it looked distressed.
And have no fear if you have never stenciled, they do have some easy to follow instructions. Which by the way, I stink at instructions, never read em!
If you did not see this project the first time it is
HERE
Now I have to run, I have some serious chili I must start soon. Going to a chili superbowl party on Sunday. What about you girls, whatcha doin?

Ummm, I love Chili. I hate instructions too. Instructions came with my stencil project, but I didn't read them. Until I tried it my way and it looked terrible and I got a wet rang and scrubbed all wet paint off the wall - then I read the instructions and started all over! Ok, fine I admit-I did it my way 2 or 3 times before givig up and reading instructions!
I love this stencil project, it looks so great I want to try it! Enjoy your super bowl party!
Love the stencil...I think I might give it a try. BTW, also love the gray boots you were wearing in a couple of posts back! I need go do some shopping.
:D I think the instructions were okay. We understand you!
I haven't ever stenciled I think you just inspired me to try it!
I love that and I'll have to get a drop cloth next time at Lowes, I like to try it.
We are having a Super Bowl party here and I'll be making my famous peperoni dip, men love it!

We woke to snow here so chili was what we had for lunch. Perfect winter meal. Enjoy! ~ Sarah
Great idea with the dropcloth next time! Sunday we'll be spending all day in our BFF's man cave. Which is pretty much where we've spent every Sunday since they finished it. I probably ought to write a post about it sometime. Enjoy your Super Bowl party and don't forget to post your chili recipe. I love trying out new variations.
Question! Where did you GET that lovely stencil?! So cool.
That is a very cute stencil. I don't like to follow directions either.
The stencil is great, Debbie! Not sure what we're doing on Sunday yet. My goal is to get to tomorrow afternoon- I will be finished painting the trim & wainscoting in the dining room! Been doin' this all week! Chili sounds great, though! I saw this other cheesy meat dip on a blog this morning, and it looked yummy, too!
I am definitely going to try to stencil. I guess I'm still a little confused tho. Did you buy the stencil or make it?
mmm, chili... I need to start thinking of my super bowl menu. But since I can't leave the house to get to a store! Maybe by tomorrow afternoon.
I'm going to have to check out the stencils. I've never thought of that before. :)
I think we are hanging at home and Tom will watch the game. I will swing in for all the commercials! Chili sounds good! I think I will make a pot of that too! We have an oyster roast tomorrow, but if it doesn't quit raining, it will be on Sunday! I love me some oysters!!!
I had to go back a few posts to see what I missed! This is a cute stencil and you did a great job but girlfriend I love the job you did on the frame! Wowzer! That is cute! I really love the two toned look of that. Sorry, I've been posting and running quite a bit lately, lot's going on in our world over the last few days! I feel like I can only grab little bits of time on the blogs. As for super bowl Sunday, I don't have a clue where will be yet but Chili sounds like a winner to me! YUM!
Aren't you sweet to do a tutorial for everyone! Have a great weekend.
Hello Debbie...Right now, I'm in the living room, sitting on a pink velvet love seat. A fire is crackling inside the pink fireplace. It's f-f-f-f-freeeeezing outside but in here it's warm and cozy. Looking forward to sleeping in a bit in the morning. Take care. Susan
What are directions? You go for it girl. I never follow directions either...which could explain a lot! Hugs- Diana
I love this project and I'm glad you gave us some instructions. I don't always follow direction but I do try to get the main idea.
Chili sounds perfect tonight!
XO,
Jane
HI Debbie Dear! I think you did great on your tutorial. I love to stencil and have been doing it probably longer than you're of age! :) Now I love me some chili. I always have to have a half of a peanut butter sandwich with my chili. It's an elementary school thingy! :)
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
That looks great, Debbie. You are getting to be an expert in stenciling...Christine
This blonde has it now! I had know idea that stencils like that were available, I thought there was just flowers and individual letters...Gotta take myself a look see. Sunday, hate sports, going to the farmers market with a friend.
Carol
I was thinking of stenciling a skirt which I am making, Umm food for thought.
What a cute idea...I DO read instructions and that is why I don't try new things sometimes...it seems too hard when I read the instructions! HAHA! Have a great weekend. Hope your chili is yummy!
Debbie, this is really cute. You rock! I must apologize to you. I put your button up on my sidebar, but I hadn't gone in & set up Follow until just a couple of minutes ago. I've noticed how you always manage comments on so many blogs. How do you do that? I'm having a tough time keeping up. Do you have a secret to managing all the goodness of blogland? Help me, Obi-Wan, you're my only hope.
CAS
I love that stencil! You're always up to such creative stuff! We're going to a party tomorrow too if hubs gets back from Vegas in time!!!
