Thought provoking questions coffee talk series
For me the the first thing that popped in my head are my boys! I am loving watching them grow and develop into who they are. Both very different, and that alone keeps my life pretty exciting.
What is the most desirable trait another person can possess?
I have to be honest I took a moment to think about this. I would have to say loyalty. In life you see loyalty slip to the way side often, whether it be in marriages, friendships, the work force, etc...
I consider myself a very loyal, trustworthy person, and when I see that in another, I find it very desirable, and I notice it!
They enjoyed it!

What gets me excited about life...well, I going to say that I agree....watching my girls grow and develop is good. But a close second is seeing people learning to love others better and unconditionally.
I am a loyalist too, that is one reason I love you so. That is important. Too, kindness is very important to me, and not fleeting kindness, but the kind that is present the majority of the time. Great questions Deb!!
Getting together with family and friends gets me excited especially seeing my grands now that I have grands.
Honesty or sincerity is important to me. I cannot stand dishonest people.
What gets me excited about life...darn near everything. My husband is still my boyfriend after 22 years, I'm a momma lion with those kids of mine, and my friends are just the best.
The quality I look for in a person is the ability to look on the bright side. You have to be a straight arrow honest person to hang with us, but if you can't laugh at little things- like your house being on fire- you aren't going to understand us at all.
Sonny, that is so true!~ I suppose we could go on and on with these thoughts. Thanks Erin and Kim. I can't wait to have some grands too! The thought gets me excited.
What gets me excited is watching God move in our families life, to the point where we have no choice but to follow. We tend to be a bit dense in that area from time to time! :)
My Character trait goes hand in hand with your Debbie, and it would be trustworthiness. Seems it is getting harder and harder to find people who are trustworthy. I need to know that the person is honest, and can keep a confidence. That if they are say something their actions will reflect what they say they will do, or who they are. This Was fun!!! Blessings <3 Paula
What gets me excited about life is so many thing. Of course my kids and my family and friends. But each and every day I wake up and can't wait to see what life will bring me. It seems like I'm reminded all too often, either on TV or on someone else's blog, of how short life is. I have always lived each day like it's my last. That's why I get so much done I think.
As far as the most important quality - I have two. I need people in my life that keep their word. When I say I will do something it really gets done. For the most part the people in my life do that. Those that don't I realize I can't count on and are not really friends. Second, someone with a positive energy. I can't stand negativity. I see the glass as half full, not half empty.
I've loving your coffee talk series. Keep up the great work.
I look for kindness in others. I think sarcasm and lack of civility reigns these days. "Making fun" of others is tearing someone down. I am very good at sarcasm myself and work very hard to think about what I say and to be kind instead.
What gets me excited about life is probably about the same for most of us moms and g-mas :) I love having all my children with me and newe grandbaby and cherish the times we're all together because it's very rare. Christmas in fact was the last time I had them all in the same room. I'm the mom who wants everyone at my house on Sunday and cooking and watching them all laugh and little ones play out in the yard but life just doesn't make it possible.
The one quality that I have to have in a friend is honesty. I'm a shoot it straight kinda girl and very laid back so don't lie to me...I can't stand it. I believe if we're true friends then there's nothing good or bad that you could do or say to me that I can't process and put my big girl undies on and get over it as long as your honest with me. It's hard for me to have a relationship with someone who feels the need to stretch the truth. :(
I think I would agree of both of your questions. I get such joy out of not only watching my grown kids as their lives develop and play out, and now, my grandchildren too.
As far as most desirable trait..yes...loyalty. My husband and I have been married for almost 32 yrs. I trust him with our lives!! He is the most loyal man I know.
These are some hard questions.
What gets me excited about life is having a mission. Does that sound weird? When I have a task that I'm truly excited about and obsess over, I feel the most productive and excited about my life. I guess that's the single girl's answer. I'm sure if I had children or a spouse, I would lean more that way.
In other people, I value integrity. I've been burned way too many times by people who say one thing to your face and do another or have preconceived prejudices. I hope that others see that kind of integrity in relationships with me.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
What gets me excited about life is watching my children grow and learn. Watching them be involved in activities.
A desirable trait to me is integrity.
I get so excited watching my boys get excited about new things. There's nothing more fun than watching them grow into men.
I think humor is one of the most important things in people. If you can't laugh at yourself, you're not that much fun to be around.
The first thing that popped into my mind as I read the first question was my family. I love my family and spending time with them and especially love being a relatively new Nonna!
As for the second question, I cannot narrow it down to one specific quality. The main qualities I look for in a person are integrity and optimism.
Great questions Debbie!

What gets you excited about life?
Excited, I'm excited about life daily(one day at a time) and am living my life by the
"Golden Rule"!!..It works beautifully!!
I get excited knowing MrNLOL is going to retire this year and we will be able to spend more time together.
I get excited that I finally have a peace about me, that has been a long time coming.
What is the most desirable trait another person can possess?
ANOTHER PERSON? if I've got to be around THAT PERSON,for long period of time, I would want them to live by the "Golden Rule",too, yeah, in a perfect world, If "we all would treat others as we want to be treated".

Lazy on Loblolly
I must say my children have always brought such joy to my life and excitement...like waiting for this grandbaby to be born!
I think honesty is such an important trait in a person.
hugs, Linda
What gets me excited about life? (Most obviously it's my family) but besides that, what keeps me up at night and makes me what to jump out of bed in the mornings singing "I feel good" is a GOOD project.... one that you know pulls at your heart strings :D
What's important? As I see my doggy laying at my feet... it would have to be "Being There". Being there for the people you love and care about. I want my kids to say "No matter what was going on, no matter how busy, my mom would stop everything to listen and be there for me"
Have a great week, Debbie.
Hmmm ... family, friends, and I'd be lying if I didn't say decorating. :) As far as important qualities ... personality, sincerity, and humor! Have a great day, *Becca*
Like you I am excited about God's greatest gift to me, my daughter, Grace!
My most desirable trait is compassion and understanding.

What gets me excited about life....well, a lot of things. I love watching my boys grown and change of course. But I also I love watching the seasons change. The flowers blooming, the leaves turning colors, what the day will have in store for me. You never know what a new day will bring. Being with my extended family has always been special to me also, I just love all of the memories I have with them.
A quality that I look for in someone is that be able to accept a person for what and who they are. Everyone is different and yet special in their own way.
Have a great day everyone!
Marianne :)
What gets me excited with life... everything... I guess I could wrap it up and say ... waking to a new day and looking for all the beauty that it has to offer, whether that be in family, friends, travel, etc...
Being a cancer survivor you look at the world differently, you see moments in each day that others get use to and hardly notice. The grass is greener, birds sing sweeter, the sun shines brighter.
I look for honesty and commitment(loyalty), but someone who understands that we all have faults and that part of being a friend is enriching and uplift each other.
I am excited about so MANY things in life-but I guess watching my grandkids grow and develop and just find their own little personalities and joys. There is just such joy in showing them new things and seeing an awareness creep into their eyes when they discover something new...through my old eyes~
Important trait? Well, I am torn between two. I think honesty is primary to ANY true relationship...because if a person is honest all the biggies fall into place-trustworthy, loyal, etc.
For me- I love a person with a sense of humor (go figure) because I think it gets you through many issues in life...to just look at a situation and see that there is a bit of humor in it. That even in sadness there is a bit of joy in the rememberances...
Great series, Deb! xxoo Diana
The kids and our family. So many exciting things in their future while trying to be 'here' in the present!!
I agree with loyalty and trustworthiness plus a good sense of humor goes a long way!!
That photo is too funny!
Thank you all so much..we all have some really good thoughts..thanks for sharing.

Welcoming a new baby to the family gets me excited about life.
Sincerity is the most desirable trait for me.
I am still excited about being married to my husband. After almost 22 years of marriage he still makes me laugh, I still love spending time with him and I still think he's cute.
I agree with you about loyalty. It's the glue that keeps family and friends together.
Love,
Susan and Bentley

I have to say my children has been the light in my life. My husband and them are the thing that gets me excited everyday. I love their company. Sincerity is also a trait I respect. I don't like social phonies. If your sincere your usually honest with it. That I can relate to.

Let's see... Easie-Peasie.
Just opening my eyes to a new day and a new adventure. and....mmmmm....let's see.....
Honesty in other's that will tell you like it is.
great pics as always.
TTFN,

simle things like the tiny birds coming in to drink the water from the leaves afer I water the plants can be one of the exciting things in life.
My life with Kyran definitely excites me, our future together and all that goes with it:) The boys are at an age where I worry incessantly about whether they'll be successful or not, how they'll get by in So Cal and this bad economy...I wish I could be more excited but I'd described it more as anxiety at this stage of their lives:(
A quality in another person, definitely a sense of humor. I never get close to people who don't have one!
Waking up gets me excited about life and loyalty is also a trait I admire right there beside honesty. Cute post.
I so enjoyed raising my boys that just the thought of grandkids some day gets me excited. When they are ready of course! Not rushing anything here.
Two traits that are important to me are honesty and humor. I drilled honesty into my kids heads. I hated being lied to more then anything. And you can't get through life without a sense of humor. You have to learn to brush off the little things. Laugh at yourself. Life is too short.
My kids definitely get me excited about life.
And loyalty is so important. I'd have to put honesty up there at the top.
I get excited about life when I think about the future and all that lies ahead!!
For me, honesty is the most important trait a person can have. I can't stand liars!
I get the most excited about life when it comes to my children. The potential for each one is so amazing & I love watching them grow (although I sometimes wish they were babies again!)
Most desirable trait...sense of humor! My husband could be a stand up comedian. He can turn even the most serious thing into a laugh. I find that so many of my memories are built around something that made be laugh, whether it was my husband or even my mom & sisters. Oh the stories I could tell! Laughing is good for the soul.
Family gets me excited. I enjoy who they are, their accomplishments, their goals, their passions, their visits, their hugs, etc, etc. I could go on forever.
I love a person with a NEVER attitude.
A person who never says never, never quits, never gives up, never whines, never blames, never deserts their friends and is always POSITIVE.
Hugs, Ginger
I get excited about life when I heard my children laughing and being happy.
The most desirable traits for me is attentiveness and considerate. It makes the other person feels important.
Hmmmm I don't have kids...but the opportunity to spend time with my FAVORITE human being in the whole world (my husband) gets me excited every time! Even if it's just hanging at home in fron of the telly. *winks*
And I would say to question #2 trustworthiness would be key. Followed closely by a sense of humor. Vanna
Lets see excited about life, honestly everyday is exciting, seriously, since I quit working well, here is the quote I have on my wall "Joy is excitement for each new day and wishing that day would never end" I love everything about everyday!
I like Happy, up beat, positive people.....HUM maybe like YOU!
