Fall Decor crafts

Fall decor crafts and more!
Stenciling burlap and playing with twine.
Fall decorating is so much fun!
Nothing like getting a jump start to Fall.  I have seen a few gals start already so I am not the first one for a change.

Speaking of change!!!~...........
It was time to get out some stencils and paint!
You know many times you have heard me say, I am NO picasso!
But I love to pretend I am.

Fall is my all time favorite time of year, so from here on in, you will be seeing lots of Fall decor, crafts and decorating on my blog.

Easy vignettes!

Simple embellishments
Or as I like to think of it, as BLING BLING!

You  remember this project I started way back?....
This was even featured in Country Woman Magazine

My initital thought and intent, was I can change this simple art out per season, without it costing me a dime.

And that I have been doing..
I have burlap, stencils, paint always on hand for something that tweets in my brain.

Now onto a Fall change and vignette...

Orange burlap, individual letter stencils,
Faux leaves, twine, hot glue,
my handy dandy rooster stencil..and your good to go..

I need to get some pretty sunflowers to replace these white daisies..

I will next week.

Took me all of 30 minutes to create this Fall art..
FREE!

I think I am an artist after all!
Have a great day, thanks for stopping by!

NEWBIE PARTY going on
HERE

Eat. Think. Smile!

Just shopping through the grocer the other day and I happened to see this  what I assumed to be "healthy section" with this catchy name Eat. Think, Smile.

They were on sale, so I thought I would give a bag a try.

Our Products

Don't know about you, but I like to snack while blogging.
Not always a good thing, sitting, snacking, no activity except hands flying on the keyboard, etc...
They were absolutely delicious!
Packed full of flavor and almonds, in every bite.
Actually quite nutritious after reading the label.

I will say this, if you are a denture wearer, or have a mouth full of crowns, they may not be for you...
a bit crunchy! However, they do have soft chewy options as well!
I had the cinnamon almond flavor.
(this is not a paid review, just an opinion I thought I would share)
Well that is my blab for the day!
Ever try these yummy snacks?

NEWBIE party still going on

Upcycled wood pallet #2, Newbie party started!

Totally,
loving these upcycled wood pallet projects.

Happy Sunday! This weekend sure flew by for us.
We were non stop busy with the kids, and parties.  Certainly, no complaints here.

First Let me announce the winner for the burlap bags.
Using random.org, and not knowing how to generate it to my computer....the LUCKY winner was #47, Stephanie!
Congrats! Please email me with your address and I will get those out to you asap.

You remember my second pallet that I scored from Lowes home and Garden center...
(FREE and you can too)
the first one I scored is HERE...
and that was a fun makeover.

I was browsing the net and pinterest for some inspiration..
I knew I wanted it to be an outdoor pallet, because quite frankly our house has no room for one MORE thing!
At least that is what Mr. Doo's thinks...

I also knew I wanted it to be a tad colorful and a touch of whimsy....
hence the rubber garden boots near by,
...they were Free from a friend who was getting rid of them, and I thought, hey I'll take those and do something with them....

It has to stay like this for a week or two and then I can move it around and lean it against the house, or wall, that way the roots will be taken by the dirt.

So there you have something that was kicked to the curb, given a new life.

I will be tweaking it a bit and perhaps sanding the wood a little.
I used a colored stain on the wood like we did our outdoor chairs...

GUIDELINES to the NEWBIE party

Fall Decorating ideas

Thought I would share with you some inspiration that I have been looking for myself on the net!
I know for many it is your favorite time of year as well.
I have lots of ideas swirling in this pea head of mine, but here are some more I found today.

I like my projects to be simple, yet make a statement...
this is really cute!

This next simple Fall arrangement from Country Living would be great looking on a front porch

I love the plaid box!

This next idea with white pumpkins, is super cute.
I have a few blue benches around...hmmmm....

Last year I tried my hand at painting some pumpkins..

Mine were a joke...as you can see

I will try try again this year...I think I can do it!

So
I love this!

A table scape I shared last Fall...

My lampshade last year embellished...

Front porch...

Can't wait to get started soon...who knows what direction I will go in this year...
I never know til it strikes!
Have a wonderful day, wonderful weekend, and I will see you tomorrow night for the newbie party.

A blogging friend, a bee and a blab!

Happy Friday everyone!
First I want to wish all my friends on the East coast to be safe and sound from this horrific Hurricane Irene.  I take these storms very seriously. After living in South Florida for 9 years, my family and I have encountered a  few, and they are nothing to be reckoned with. DO take all the safety precautions recommended to you by your local news and State! Stock up on water, batteries, battery operated radio, bread, peanut butter, canned goods, and have a hand held can opener, just to name a few.
Believe me, if the power goes out, these things become a luxury to have.
Today, I would like to feature a blog friend named Linda from Ontario, Canada.
Linda asked me if I would be so kind to feature her new Bee pillow that is now available in her Etsy shop.

First I had to take a look at it, and when I did I was pretty impressed as to how she made this lovely pillow.

First let me say, any Bee is difficult to find, and when and if you do, it comes with a hefty price tag.  I know this from looking myself a few years back.
Head on over to Linda's blog, say hello and check out her Etsy.
The White hutch

Have a great evening, and stay safe North East.
We are praying for you!

Newbie party top three links this week!

Thank you, thank you all once again for making the newbie party a success.
This week I had almost 100 links and a lot of you were newcombers.
This party is never that large because of the fact I have strict guidelines,
that really define a NEWBIE,
 and for two,
there are always gals who graduate to no longer newbie status.
That is what I love!
Now onto the links that were most viewed.
No particular order...
Check out her lovely French sign...

This is not the first one she has made either...very creative gal!

Next up...
Farica!  She is getting ready for Fall, and I of course was giddy with delight to see her post...

Farica has a lovely home, and is a very sweet lady!

Last but never least,

This trunk had a complete makeover, and look how BEAUTIFUL it is!
WOW it looks so awesome in her family room.

Thanks again for your continued support.

I have seen many of your actually connect, and become good friends because of my party.
This is not a blog hop...it is a real friendship builder.
you are here to make those connections, and gain friends and readership.
XO

Country french roosters, cont.. and another wood pallet!

Thank you all so much for all the kind compliments on my upcycled wood pallet.
It sure is a keeper, and if I must say so myself, one of my finest jobs to date!
Or at least one I am very proud of .
I stopped by at Lowe's home and garden center today just to see if they had anymore.
I will fill you in on a little secret.
You can drive round back,of Lowes or Home depot, and they will load up your car with all the pallets you want.
Today I could have come home with at least 5 large ones.

I came home with one. AGAIN, I have no clue what I will do with this one.
Any ideas?
May take me several months to come up with something.
In the meant time...
Mike is busy in our backyard....

Hopefully it will look a little something like this..

Perhaps a little nicer...Mike is doing this on his own..
never done masonry work, but I have all faith in him.

Now onto my new Rooster water color by
I found a new home for one of my precious feathered friends

I used my provence color ASCP (Annie sloan chalk paint)
then distressed the frame.

I think it is the perfect touch to my upcycled wood crate.

Thanks again Laurie...
my Mom thanks you too for her bird water color.  Your so kind!

Upcycling a wood pallet, DIY project FREE!

Oh, I would say a few months back, while I was browsing the garden section at Lowes,
I spied a wood pallet near their trash.
I asked the cashier if I could have it.
She said sure, and then asked why?
I said I am going to do something with it, but I have no clue yet!

She laughed and gladly handed it over to me.
It took me until today to figure out just what I was doing with it!
Old white, Annie Sloan paint in hand,
dark wax,
some craft paints, and I was good to go!

First, I cleaned it real good with some simple green.
Next, I painted it Old White.
Next, process after drying,
I took these two color craft paints, an old rag and just ragged those colors on.
I then sanded it, and put the dark wax on.

Hey with cows all the rage now, I just so happened to have these pretty cheese plates for years now..
They used to be displayed around my kitchen window.

I had that look for a long while, but it needed a change.

This pallet took on such an aged appearance.
I love the hints of red, copper and dark wax coming through.

Makes a perfect little display shelf.

Paired up with my $3.00 Goodwill table...I would say I done good!

Have a great day gals!

Hope you get in on my burlap giveaway
