The daily "doos"

Today in the daily doos!
HA, that popped in my head, and I thought,  that sounds like a fun title! I decided I would make a slide show to share with you what was on this weeks  daily doos  agenda.
It was fun!

As you can see I have been busy!
A lot of people ask me, how I get so much done in a day.  Well, I really don't! It appears that way, but these things are spread out over the course of the week.
I am a multi-tasker to the best of my ability these days.  I used to be able to whip things out in no time.  Now, it takes me a wheee bit longer! How about you, are you a multi-tasker, or do you have to finish what you start?
I am getting ready for the Spring'tacular party! Hope to see you here beginning March 12th!
THERE will be NO NEWBIE party that day, the Magazine copy cat challenge will be in lieu of it.

Assistance needed in aisle one please....HELP!

I don't know why that title popped in my head!
I need your help and your advise.
This is a BIG project coming up and I do not want to make the wrong decision here.  In fact, it is hard to believe my husband is even on board with this idea.  I suppose he has CONFIDENCE in me now.
So here's the deal....
We have had this entertainment center for about 10 years.
I hate it, Mike loves it.
It serves it's purpose, TV, stereo equipment, DVD's, the whole purpose of an entertainment center I suppose.
I hate the color, and it looks outdated to me anyhow...
SOOOOOO....

 YUK, I just noticed Lucy's chewie on the couch...

Rug colors...reds, blue, green, salmon, off white...
 Furniture is a rustic chocolate color, and the walls are butter {Soft yellow}
Here are my thoughts on colors...
Of course I am going to use Annie Sloans chalk paint
from my favorite stockist and my sponsor

Primer Red Chalk Paint

{Primer red}
Deep red ochre is a color found in practically every culture from Venetian palaces to Vietnamese temples

Red earths were plentiful and relatively easy to come by so the color is often associated with the color for priming furniture and as the base coat for gilding

It is a wonderful color on its own or as a base for other colors particularly when distressing
Chateau Grey Chalk Paint

{#1024 Chateau Grey Chalk Paint}
An elegant greyed green, this is the color found in French woodwork

Graphite Chalk Paint

{#1025 Graphite Chalk Paint}

Graphite is a soft black made with purplish blues and brown

It is not completely black

I do have plans of heavily distressing this piece as well as changing out the hardware...

NEW - CoCo Chalk Paint

{#1000.3 NEW - CoCo Chalk Paint}
A warm greyed brown, the color found on old French woodwork.

This is my least choice, but I thought I would throw it in the equation to get your thoughts.

HELP!

I could play it safe and just do black, however, I do not like to play it safe...TOO boring for me!

Top {diy} home projects 2011 {crafts, painting furniture, stencils}

My favorite 2011 diy home projects all in ONE!
Kick back, take off your shoes, grab a cuppa joe, your going to be here a while.
I had 430 posts in 2011!
Seriously, I did not even realize that until I was putting this post together.
YIKES, that is a whole lotta posts.

I started off January 2011, very motivated and ready to inspire, and be inspired.
I started hosting the weekly Monday newbie party...which is still going strong and I am very happy with all it has done to help newbie's get started.

Projects have been a many this year...
Stenciling, burlap, pallets, just to name a few...
let's take a look at some shall we?

You may view many more stenciling projects
HERE

Then I moved on to the big leagues, and started painting furniture, using Annie Sloan chalk paint...
{you may click on that link to take you directly to my favorite stockist}

These are just a few samplings..
You may view many more
HERE

Moving on to Spring...

I started hosting my monthly Magazine copy cat challenge..
{one coming up soon TBA}
I was inspired to do IT, after looking at the back of Country Woman magazine and thinking, hey I can copy that pretty image.
 Then there was this pretty table scape in the summer...
You may view more copy cat's
HERE

 In March 2011, I received a phone call from Country Woman magazine. They wanted to feature our kitchen...is this a JOKE?
NOPE you may read about that

By the time Summer rolled around, I was in full swing, stencil high, Love

Nothing was safe from the hands of me and a stencil.
Lightbulbs started flickering like crazy in my head...

Burlap was also a big kick of mine...

I was burlaping{not a word I know}
 everything in my site...
you see I tend to over do it sometimes.

Now we were ending the Summer projects, and I decided to move outdoors...

Mike and I had put off a much  needed back yard makeover.
It was TIME!

Our outdoor area went from this...which was very nice and rustic...

to this...

We took on the job of building an outdoor pizza oven...
You may see the details of that
HERE
I can tell you for certain, it was worth every blood, sweat and tear shed, and yes, we shed all three!

Moving off of Summer now and into the Fall season.
Fall is my ultimate favorite time of year......

October is one of my favorite months.
I found out HGTV had featured my last year Halloween table
scape on their decorating ideas site.
HERE

{Still loving chalk paint btw as you can see from this cute outdoor chair.}

Somewhere in between here, I discovered my love of pallets...

For the record these flowers are still growing and look amazing...

Then from November on...

we have had Holiday gatherings and family, fun time.

{Savannah, GA}

I have enjoyed playing and learning new tricks with my camera, and still learning every day.

I really like this picture, although nothing special...beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess.

Not sure what 2012 will bring.
I am only looking for good health, peace, love and Happiness...
what the rest will be, will be.
I can probably guarantee I will NOT have 430 posts.

Thank you so much for your friendships, your kind visits, your wonderful emails, and in general just being here
at my blog.  There are so many talented and inspiring women out here..and I am flattered you take the time to come over to little ole debbiedoo's and show me some LOVE!
Happy NEW YEAR!
XOXO

Let there be light {bhg lamps}

I seem to be on a roll lately with Better homes and gardens brand.
I see a lot of gals like to have little lights on the counter.
I have never really done that, however, I do think it looks pretty cute.
So I scored this little one for I believe $5.97 and thought I would come up with something cute.

I could not leave it black though.
I painted it with some smidge of Annie sloan chalk paint provence blue that I have left.

ahh...yes much better!

If you have never used these flickering light bulbs, I would suggest you do.
My Mom turned us on to them years ago.
they give off a nice ambiance.
I decided not to put a shade on this little gal and leave her as is.

At night it looks cute too.

And there you have a very quick, cheap project.
I like having a light on the counter too.

Info on the flicker light bulb
HERE
and yes, the bulb was almost as much as the lamp.
However, they last a long time and look super.

One more thing before you go...today I am guest posting over at Mary's of HOPE filled living.
If you would like to read about my Holiday tradition..hop on over and check it out.
HERE
P.S.
I have not been compensated for the praise of these bulbs...you can thank my Mom!

Rooster painting & {painting a cheap picture frame}

You may recall back some time ago my blogging friend Laurie painted me two lovely rooster's. Laurie is a very talented lady who continues to lose her eye sight due to an injury years ago.

I am very thankful to have received these works of art from her and will always cherish them.
This was the first one I framed.  I bought a cheapo frame from Walmart for 3.00 and gave it a few coats of ASCP and then heavily distressed it.
Yesterday, I ran out and picked up another frame and did the same thing.

Nice I found a few sample left and decided I best use them up.

Made a cute little Fall vignette, and now I can enjoy my second works of art from Laurie.
 {flash on}
{I waxed the the inside border as well}

Bag of small pumpkins bought at Walmart for $2.98.  I probably will have fun with those around Thanksgiving changing them up.
