(Alex again on the far right)
First off, a HUGE thank you for all of the well wishes and good luck to my son Alex!
Fort Mill band came in
1st place yesterday, pretty impressive for their FIRST competition.
The field conditions were awful as you can see! Kids were slipping and sliding all over.
The dirty knee is actually not because they fell, they had to kneel at one point.
Fort Mill HS band had the largest group, with 153 students in the marching band
(including color guard)
It was a very, very long day.
All the bands participating did a phenomenal job!
However, Fort Mill out shined them according to the judging.
We rolled in around 2:30 am, so needless to say not a lot of UMPH! today.
This year with my Fall decorating, I wanted to bring more outdoor nature indoors.
As you know we have a beautiful tree filled back yard.
I made a wreath this year, and I can't wait to share it with you.
It of course was inspired by the great outdoors.
What do you think about decorating with natural elements opposed to faux?
Don't get me wrong, I love my faux here and there, but honestly, I over did it many years back, as I tend to do sometimes.
I tend to shy away now from not so much.
See you all later on for the NEWBIE party!
I see a lot of you gals are getting the hang of this blogging thang!
Thank you for turning OFF word verification.
I even see my friends out here telling you to turn it off!
thanks all, we will all get the hang of this sooner or later.

CONGRATULATIONS to Fort Mill!
I love me a good marching band!
We have a beautiful tree-filled yard, too, and I have decorated the cafe' with some of nature's gifts this year and I'm anxious to see what you come up with, too!
I hope you get a nice nap today :)
It's raining here (is it raining there?). Perfect for naptime.
HUGS,
me
Wow, Congratulations to the band and to your son. I am sure he's worked very hard for them to be the best and such a great honor and memory for them. Can't wait to see your decor. You always inspire. Hugs, Marty
Congrats to your son's band. I hope you don't have to wash that uniform lol.
Oh Debbie that is fantastic. Glad the family got to watch the big WIN too! Hope he is feeling better and you guys can all take it easy and re charge today. We had rain last night and should have tons of pinecones on the ground, I'm off to harvest a few ;) Have a blessed day.
Congratulations! It's hard work, but obviously they performed with great skill. Your son looks super sharp, and how I remember those muddy slip and slide football fields during my son's drumming days. You'll still remember these special times when you're a grandma like me. Rest up today and hug your boys (and hubby too). Peggy
Congrats to the band and to your son! What a great day even though it was long. I love marching bands. Can't wait to see your wreath Debbie. I don't use a lot of faux's but some.

Yay to your son's h.s.! Sounds like he's a dedicated musician, how wonderful is that. I'm sure he puts in many hours of practice!
I love decorating with natural elements or any handmade craft, I think it adds sophisticated beauty to ones home.
Also, thank you for your kind words about my mom, she will be forever missed and in our hears.
congratulations to the band,, whooo hooo! I am a natural girl,, prefer just a bit and have it the real thing,, I keep it simple here,, when in the house I did way more and did more with faux flowers and such,, not here,, small home,, less decorating makes for a bigger statement,, have a nice relaxing day now,,
Congrats! Oh yes, hate word verification!
Have a great Sunday.

Debbie, hurray for his school winning. That is fantastic. Too bad they had to get those pretty white uniforms dirty. That was a long day.
Congratulations to Fort Mill. Alex looks most handsome in his uniform.
Congratulations Alex! Way to go! I love the outdoor elements for decorating. Can't wait to see your wreath!
Congratulations to them all! I know the members of the band are proud.
Congratulations to the band!
I am definitely incorporating natural elements this year (I love them AND they're free!) A friend just gave me her 'spent' Allium flower heads -- they went right into my fall decor! I collect things on my walks with the dog all the time to add inside!
Congrats!!! I know it was a long day for you guys, but what a great job!! I can't wait to see your wreath! I have moved away from faux because I got a lot of grief over it in RMS. I am going to have to bring a little back because I can't keep the real stuff alive and looking good! Maybe in small doses it will be fine! :-)
Congratulations to Fort Mills and to your son! That was a long day but in the end it was well worth it.
Happy Sunday,
Gail
I love your son's uniform colors! They look so sharp..

Congrats to Fort Mill and to your son!!
Wow they look so impresive and to continue to shine in such terrible condition is just great Congratulation
Congratulations on the band! We did this with our son too! Fun times!
I love natural and organic elements too, but if I find something that looks pretty real I am not opposed to using it. I saw shiny pumpkins at Michaels the other day that looked so fake I wondered if anyone would really want them? Oh well, to each his own. I don't go by any firm rules, I go by what I feel looks good.
Congratulations to your son & the rest of the band! 1st place!
Congrat to the band on the win! I know it's hard to perform on wet turf. And as a band mom who washed uniforms I'm cringing a little at all of those dirty knees, lol!
YAY!!!! Congratulations to your son and his HS band. I know you are a proud mama! :D
Congratulations on the Marching Band. You must be very pleased, and proud.
Natural elements? Best thing about them is tha, most of them are FREE! Second best thing about them; every single one is unique. There's only so many designs of faux pumpkins out there...
Having said that, the trend in the dollar stores of a glazed, metallic orange I rather like. I can see that blending into Christmas without too much effort.
