Progress thus far!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...let me tell you this job STINKS!
I can think of a few other choice words, however this is family owned and operated establishment and I must keep it clean!
I never knew I could do masonry work.  I am actually pretty good.
I took a few minutes break to share with you what Mike and I have been doing for the  past few days.

We decided to do stone veneers on the outside of the cinder blocks which is the base of the pizza oven.

It truly is like a big heavy puzzle!

A refreshing beverage is mandatory for this job!

Hope to have it done by this evening so I can do the full reveal!
Whew...our achy breaky backs.
This is the one time I wish we had a lot of money to hire out on this job!

Great idea. I'm wondering how the stones stay there long enough to dry - picturing you and the kids all surrounding the pizza oven with arms and legs all over the place trying to hold them down long enough. Can't wait to see your first pizza come out of there.

I totally understand. I am saving money to have the last half of our ceiling project finished by someone much younger than me. Can't wait to see it finished.

your photos bring back achy breaky back memories Deb..
on our 5th home we did columns in from , inside face of the fireplace and the worst- the outer face of the chimney. Carrying those stones up the ladder was excruciating:)
Cant wait what I know will be a beautiful reveal..

I definitely see "back breaker" just looking at the stones, but you know what? Just think of that crisp crust & ooey, gooey cheese....it'll all be worth it in the end!
