It's starting to get hairy around here!

HA! I really know how to grab your attention now don't I? You thought you were going to come over and there was going to be something really juicy and good.
THIS post is about my hair growing process. Back in January when I first started blogging. I felt the need for a hair change.  When I met my husband I had long hair. Then slowly I started going shorter and shorter.  Mike always liked it short. Well Being in my mid 40's I suppose I want to look just a wee bit younger, and for some reason longer hair can make you feel that way.  Come along the hair journey won't you??
Last summer...short and spikey!
Oh and have I mentioned I have undergone many hair color changes. This was also last summer, with the red look. I have been a blonde...but I can't find any pictures on my computer to show you.
Now moving onto January/February when I first declared I am growing out my hair.
I liked this, could have lived with it for awhile, but this certainly is not long.

APRIL, not happy having to wear headbands now, really trying hard.
Hated my hair this day. Funny you can remember hating your hair on a day, but can't remember what you ate yesterday.

It's starting to grow now....
Today's current state. I really thought it would be longer by now. I do still get it cut every 5-6 weeks to keep it healthy. I feel like I have the 80's look now though. I did LOVE the 80's! So tell me your thoughts...do you like it shorter, medium, this length, keep it going...I will not get my feelings hurt either way:)
P.S. Yes this is blowed out and curled just a tad. I have very thin hair.

What a fun weekend so far!

I have mentioned on a few two, three, ten, occasions that my hubby has reunited with his Dad after many years.  Well I have to say this has been one of the best years of our time together. Our family is completely complete. This weekend Dad and Wife Donna came for a visit. We decided we would take him fishing with the boys on the boat...we also went to the Lake today just because it was a dreary day, but great for fishing day. I thought I would share some pics with you.
This is a rare occasion when Michael and I get a picture together...I think he is just happy this weekend:) I wish it was a better one, but you get what you get.
But of course Alex makes up for the great photos as always...sorry now onto the nice pictures.....
We had a great day yesterday of fishing on the boat...the boys where proud to catch a couple nice cat fish with their Grampa Paul, who was ever so patient.......I told him he never missed much while the boys where little, he is getting the best of times NOW....
Jack tying ever so patiently to actually learn something...you mean he is listening?....COOL!!~
Eating is never a shortage when you come hang out with us...in fact in 2 months I have gained 7 lbs...I was a bit depressed today...and cut back a tad on eating...it is so hard though when you just enjoy life and eating....
This truly is the best BBQ you ever had and so close to home....
It's the real deal down here in the South!
Mike's Dad of course is the guy not looking...he apparently is not a picture guy...oh well....here is some more fishing shots....I have told you it takes a special Mom to boys....yes that would be me....
Notice more band aids for Jack...he fell off his scooter today...unbelievable this kid of mine!
YUMMO!!!!

Nice way to end the day though...the boys swinging and talking together overlooking our beautiful lake.  Have a great rest of the weekend everyone....thanks for stopping by.  Debbie

Also I have a question...has anyone actually printed a book yet from blogger? I am so excited to do this at the end o the year.  My blog is so personal( besides the fact of sharing it with hundreds of people a day) I want my boys to have copies of this for themselves, as I share our fun, filled life, and crazy stories along the way. And of course they would love to see all the decorating in print HAHA! .  Just wondering if you have or know someone who has.

Ok one eye has some life in it..now.....
http://www.polartrec.com/ptrecgallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=55378
Ok so it took this team to help, what can I say! I pay these Men well!~
Ok seriously,  All I do is take my little shadow brush and apply it generously on half my lid. I like using the darker colors, as my eyes seem to pop out more, I think that would be the case for most of us, however, some are too afraid to try it. I am sure if a make up consultant or cosmetologist is looking at this, she is cringing at my advise.  I also take my brush and lightly go underneath my eye and further out, the cat eye look, I know, all wrong, but that is the way I like it.
After I apply the cat eye underneath, I usually take a lighter color with a shimmer, color depends on what I am wearing, I then lightly brush that color underneath the lid as well....again probably not to make up standards, , but that is what I do.
As you can see this black smokey color has a sparkle to it, I love sparkle anything, I even wear sparkle lotion!
I am almost finished here...as you can see, I trash the bathroom in this process! I really need my lipstick, never leave home without it.  I use the cheap crap wet and wild, I love it, stays on, does not bleed, and they have some great colors. This is what I use for the summer.  Now one thing I hear about women in their forties...we really should not use reds anymore, I would agree with that...

I love pinks, in all variations, this is my favorite one, again super cheap, go to your local drug store and check it out!
I am ready for the day! Total time from shower to make up to hair....40 minutes! Not too bad! When I had short, short hair, it was 30 minutes.  The make up process takes me about 5 minutes!
COLORS:
Lancome eye shadow color design with the new metallic black.  I know it looks dramatic when the lid is closed however it really does not look caked on when your eyes are open, and of course you do not have to cover as much of the lid, you can do a smooth thin line, which I have done that as well.
Blush: Estee Lauder Delux all over face compact you can see the color numbers in the picture above.
COVER GIRL shimmer shadows this one is #600 Sterling Blue...I also use the light pink one often, I am out of it so I do not have the # will be going to get some more today!

CommerCial UpDate~~

WOW!!~~ "This place is amazing"......as I jumped on too a lounge seat with glee!!~ That was my line, and my part, and it was FUN, FUN, FUN!!~ I would totally do it again. It was pretty easy as far as my part went.  Then toward the end of the shoot I am also seen walking thru the store throwing a bunch of stuff in my cart....that is reality and the way I shop anyhow LOL!!~ My two other friends had great lines as well, One was " WOW this place is Huge", and the other one was " WOW  I don't know which one to pick" as she was looking at the rugs!!~ We had a blast.  At first the camera guy was a little, let's say not so warm and fuzzy...but by the end he loosened up and was joking with us....I asked him if he wanted my business card for future shoots!!~? This store is pretty amazing.  It used to be a cotton mill, so it is HUGE! non-heating and cooling, and today of course was so cold and so rainy.  I forgot my camera!!~ A little nervous I guess this morning! I has it out on the counter and we where half way there and I could not believe  I forgot it!!~Well we will be given a tape of our shoot, so I am hoping I can download it, and post it on my Blog!!~ So now it is official, you can say you know a movie star!!~ LOL~~~

No Topic Tuesday~~~!

It will be 2 weeks tomorrow since starting my blog! I have 52 posts and thought today I would take a chill from posting a topic.  As I have mentioned before I think I was a bit obsessive compulsive and do not want to burn out too quick!  I have had so much fun interacting and learning about different people and your values and opinions.  It means a lot to me that you where willing to share so much, and I thank each and every one of you.  Today was a great day for me as I usually do have great days!  I look at life like this, Waking up, having my health and having my family healthy as well, is really all that matters to me. My boys are great kids and every day I look at them and feel as though I am the luckiest mother.  I know that may sound ridiculous, but it is true.  Today when Alex my older son came home from school, I noticed he had a little more pep to him....I always ask him "How was your day?" he replied it was GREAT!  Usually he just says it was" GOOD"!  I asked  "what made today so great"?....thinking oh he must like a girl, instead his response was I just feel good about myself Mom and the kids are really nice and so many kids are wanting to talk to me these days.  I thought to myself what a great feeling that is!  I have always told him when you are confident people will be attracted to that.  It is tough to be a middle school aged child, but I feel if he can get thru the next year....High School will be rockin for him!  As for Jack, he has too much confidence, I have to take him down a notch or two sometimes!  It's all good though, he is just a happy go lucky easy going Jack! Anyhow I guess today is giving thanks day!~ Thanks for stopping by.  Stay tuned for more topics and fun! Debbie

P.S. I am trying to grow my hair out, but today had to get a trim as it was out of control.  My husband has been calling me "hat" because I have been living in hats thru this growing out process! YES this is long for me....anyone ever try to grow their hair long at the age of 43???? There's a topic LOL!

mE and mY pUrpose....

SO I guess you can say 2010 is my defining year!  What I mean by that is I figured out my purpose.  I have always known wE all have a purpose.  Some question it deeper than others.  AltHouGh, not strong into my upbringing in Catholicism I do believe in God, as he has blessed me with a wonderful life.  I believe my friends and family would describe me  as the friend you can always call.  I will always lend you my ear or help you out with something. I know many, dirty little secrets....WELL, not all dirty, but many.  I suppose people trust me and they feel it to be safe.  Your secrets are safe with me and always  will be as long as I gave you my word, my word is good!   I often wonder if I should have went into counseling, although, so dysfunctional myself, that would be scary for YoU, if you where my patient.  So I will stick to just listening and helping you out, I have earned my masters degree in that! With that being said, that is what my "ahhhhh"moment as described by OpRah.....(I don't want to get sued) was recently.  It's time to start blogging!  I love interacting with people and being social, most of the time. I have a wonderful circle of family and friends.  I do have times I just like to be quiet too, and lay low with my family.  That is actually what I truly treasure most in life,  my family time!

SiNce I have been a child, I have been very creative.  I watched my Mom hang curtains, change place mats, move furniture etc.   I once choked on a curtain hook while sitting on the bed watching her, I guess I got bored LOL! I was only 3 years old. By the time I was 8 years old I would change  the X-mas decorations around to my liking, not sure if she noticed, and I am not sure if that was me being creative or a control freak....you do remember I mentioned dysfunction??  For the past 15 years I have really set my sites out.  I tried my hand in painting, which was a miseRable fail.  I did abstracts, my first one was a masterpiece, we even hung it behind our couch.  After that it was all down hill. I then built a beautiful dollhouse, which my Mom still has.  That was my first and last one. My husband wound up helping with the roof and I was done with ever building again.  For a short time I also was making magnets, that lasted about one month.  From there I started garbage picking furniture, as my Mom taught me that as well. That has somewhat been a success.  The last time I tried to pick garbage my 8 year old son lost his mind, he screamed and cried because he thought I was committing a crime, so we escaped with very little as we made a very fast getaway.  I have found some nice things though and painted them and actually have used them.  Our first LoVe and passion in decor is our antique collections, which in time I will be showing you all and telling the story behind them. We are now making our own history with them.

LeT the decorating begin, well that is what my friend Lisa in South Florida encouraged me to set my mind to do for others.  She decided we would have a small business, myself, her gay brother, his partner and of course, LiSa, she was the manager.  Our first job was a promo for my friend Christa.Christa needed a bedroom makeover.  So we decided we would be like design on a dime.  She gave us a 500.00 budget for accessories, not including the paint.  Well we where even nice enough to paint the room, mind you this all was for free!  It turned out fabulous and we where really onto something now.  We where now the "FAB" 4! I know very original.  We would shop together, hang out together and just have a ball.  That is until the day Christian was in a minor car accident, and we where scheduled for a BiG job.  The job had to go on, and Christian was upset.  Lisa and I packed up the car and off we went.  I was never so scared in my life!  At one point Lisa was under the glass coffee table moving furniture around, and I thought I heard a crack, well I ran outside in a complete panic state.  Lisa knew nothing about decorating so I knew I had to finish this job.  I did, with yet again another huge success.  I wound up going on a few more jobs myself and doing well.  I quickly realized though I was not having fun, I was stressed.  I ended it.  NoW I will do it for fun for friends, I do not want it as a job!!

So now let's talk about the  past YeAr experience in my creative world.  It started one boring, Sunday morning. I was browsing on HGTV website and saw RMS.  I thought  "that looks fun"! ( I know, I should have been at church). Well my first upload began, from there it has been wonderful...... OvErAll! I have made many new friends with creative minds and beautiful homes to share.  I have improved my home, and my photography skills to say the least.  SeVeral of us have had a bad experience with users on the site that want to bring the community down.  I can honestly say I have never had anyone bad mouth my home.  They chose to come over and use the rating system to put me down.  I do believe it was strictly out of jealousy and anger with oneself, and it has nothing at all to do with me.  I am certain long after MysElF and others are gone, they will go on to the next person.  I will say I was given wonderful comments and shown such kindness and EncoUragement.  Even to start this blog...I had some of you mention you would support it, and love it.  The nice thing is I can control who comes and says what, because if I do not like it, there is a delete button!  The only stars on my blog are YoU ALL!! So thanks for being here!  I am looking forward to a lot more fun!  And let me mention, I am by no means a writer, and I am sure there are many grammar and punctuation  errors....so pardon me, I was day dreaming in sChool, of decOrating and what outfit I was going to wear the next day!!
