Merry Christmas to all!

 Thought I would put together a Christmas Holiday home tour for this year 2011.
Little words here today, let the pictures do the talking.
So come on in and enjoy the holiday wrap up of 2011.

Just about everything I have had or it was gifted to me...

I really enjoyed my ice skates this year.
I even enjoyed doing some crafts...

I have had a wonderful year of blogging, making new friendships and being creative.
I thank you all for being my friend, supporting my endeavors and I look forward to seeing more of you in 2012.

Christmas decorating {vignettes, nativity set}

Christmas decor, vignettes, nativity scene
Well hello there! I feel like I have been totally out of the loop here with visiting and catching up with you all.
I plan on taking some time tomorrow and the weekend to catch up.
I only have a few more things to show you related to my Christmas decorating.
To think it will be all down in  a few weeks is just mind boggling to me.
We all work so hard to getter done!
I was practicing some of my candle light shots...as you can see I still need some practice.

I have had these three votives for a few years now. I purchased those at Bath and body works..they do look very pretty at night.

You see my pretty nativity scene? This was gifted to me last year by my Mother-in-law in from Buffalo.  She hand made this back in the day when she took ceramic classes.
Apparently, it even won the award that year.  I just love it.

Like my white feather boas? I think they add a very pretty softness to the nativity scene...

I am determined in 2012 I will find a piece to replace this outdoor garden table I have had for years.

It has served a great purpose for many years...but it's time to go...

Some rustic outdoor elements.

Until we meet again....
Have a great evening everyone, and thanks for stopping by.

JOY { DIY holiday ornaments}

Tis the Season for JOY! Today I am sharing a DIY holiday ornament.
When Stephanie from Under the table and dreaming asked me If I would like to guest post for her on ornaments, it was perfect timing because I had just completed this quick little craft.

{This here craft is one my little guy did a few years back}
Obviously he can work with glitter, read on....

  I seem to be spreading lots of JOY around the house these days...what you don't believe me?
 Sure I am just ask my family...NOT!
Well, I am having fun decorating and this was my latest little craft venture.

I found these little wood chip letter at Hobby Lobby for 99 cents each.
My initial intent was to glitter them.
That was a disaster , and I have officially decided I HATE glitter,
now that's the holiday spirit for ya!
PLAN B! always have a PLAN B just in case.
I took some old vintage book pages and tore them in tiny pieces and mod podged them on piece by piece.  Really simple and fun.
I then brushed lightly some glitter on them.

That was easy enough!

I added a thin ribbon and have them just dangling from the pie safe...
These could however, be hung on the tree too!

I added a fresh poinsetta to my Tureen.

Happy, happy JOY, JOY!~

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by.

Thank you Stephanie for having me.

WalKinG iN a WonDerLanD {Newbie party started}

"Walking in a wonderland" with faux snow of course!
So I T O T A L L Y copied Donna from Funky junk interiors on the snow steps...but hey she put it out there, and I loved it so why NOT! Thanks Donna, You ROCK!
I already had the snow, because I do tend to go snow spray happy this time of year.
In fact hubby said NO faux snow this year...
but did I listen?
NOPE!

I wanted to share the Fall side entry, you may recall.
It sure takes a turn for an entirely different look now.

Went a little snow spray happy!

I had mums in these during the Fall season

Wreath holding up well and very happy in Ivy green {Krylon}

Oh, I forgot to mention, the chair is a new score from Goodwill for 10.00.
I could have painted the yellow one, however, I used chalk paint and I really love the way it looks as is.
It was cheaper to buy a red one.

Vintage Sentimental Christmas tree!

I wanted our tree to hold sentiment this year.
I decided I would look for some old Vintage Christmas post cards, and incorporate those along with some old vintage ornaments, mixed with a few modern and hand made ones.  Let's just say it is eclectic for sure!

I also bought a new tree this year, pre-lit and with flocked in snow.

I love it!

I found a few vintage post cards locally.

Then in Savannah, I found some too...

HOWEVER, I lost them, or left them in the hotel:(

I wanted to include my Grandfather this Christmas...

and of course myself, after my Grandfather dressed me up...
I actually remember these days.

My Grandfather would sing the song, one little, two little three, little Indians, and I would spin around and giggle my head off...what fond memories.

Then I made a few vintage post cards myself using the Graphics fairy website.

Looking above from the family room...

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
I have two parties tomorrow..and I must get my Christmas shopping DONE!
Please tell me I am not alone with feeling like there is NOT enough time in the day anymore.
whew...looking forward to the New year for sure!

How to make a Christmas wreath {Holiday decor}

OK, so is this really a HOW to make a Christmas wreath?
Well yes, if you have a can a spray paint and a few minutes of time, you can make the same.
You may recall back in the Fall where I shared a quick Fall wreath with you.

All I did was spray paint the rustic stick wreath and add some leaf embellishments.

Well, time for a Winter one.
You may noticed I changed my header and added this wreath as well.

I fell in love with this Green ivy leaf Krylon color.

Gave it a quick coat of spray paint, found some pinecones in my yard and lightly sprayed them with some faux snow.
Added a few candy canes, and it was good to go!

This was a dreary day as you can see.  I wish it would just rain on days like this.

Playing around in Picnik today, that places is Trouble too!

You may notice I changed my header again for the season, and also added a plaid back drop.
I know some bloggers do not like changing the header or feel it is unnecessary.
My thoughts are this....
A lot of gals turn to blogs versus magazines anymore.
Mags change their covers monthly, now, grant you, I will not change my header monthly, however, seasonally, I think the change is refreshing for me.
I made my collage in picnik, and it was free, fast and simple.
Here is a quick lesson.
Go to picnik, and hit get started...
You will then be directed to the next page
On the top, second option, it says  collage...
Hit collage...
You then see the basic options for your collage...
pick the one you would like...I always choose the 4 boxes across...so I know it will be wide enough for my blog.
Then upload the photos of your choice,which is at the bottom of that screen
Drag the pics to the box.
You may adjust the boxes as you will also see that option, spacing,proportion,etc...
Once you have all your pictures in place, hit save.
NOW you go to the edit section,
add your text, and I also at that time add a clear border, so I can add my text, giving me enough space.
You really do not want to add text over your header, unless you see it is clearly visible to read.
Hope this helps you!

You also have the option to resize your header, and that all depends on your blog template.
You can play around with that.

HERE is another tip for you on the background.  I googled wallpaper, example, french country, plaid, whatever....then I saved the image to my computer.
In your template designer you have the option to UPLOAD your own background...
So I tried it, and the wallpaper worked!

Holiday decorating in the Kitchen {Christmas}

Good evening!
Boy was it cold here today in the Carolinas! I still have a chill in my bones and I have been back in for hours now.
Well, I am finally through decorating for Christmas in the kitchen.

I show you snippets here and there and then it all comes together in the end for you.

First I made this centerpiece, first inspired by this centerpiece

I had everything on hand so it was easy~

Simple Christmas ornaments under a cloche and a cute little tea towel draped underneath.

Chande dressed up with candy canes and a holiday bell...

I have already shown you this side,

Simple stocking hung, tied with a bow...

Wreath hung in the window to give me some greenery.  It is so bare back there now.

Enjoy your evening.
