What is your favorite beauty tool?

Every once in a while you will find  a post on a product I love.

Most of us have one, whether it is in the beauty department, hair, skin or makeup.

I have been letting my hair grow again.
I think it is because my sis is getting married in the summer and I want to have a cute doo..get  it doo? HA!

You know what my latest greatest tool is?

My curling iron.

But as you can see, I am going for the 80's look again, and what better way to achieve that, than the handy dandy curling iron.

while I am at it I may as well share what I wore as well...

My $3.00 Goodwill designer shoes...I do not think these were ever worn. Heck, they may even be from the 80's and that is why someone was getting rid of them.

I think I am going for the Bohemian 80's look, was there such a thing back then?
I always did like the hippie'ish style too!

Shabby Apple dress review!

Happy Saturday!
When Shabby apple  contacted me and asked if I wanted to either do a giveaway or review on one of their dresses, I had to take this one for myself peeps!

I have been wanting one of their dresses for sometime now.

This truly is one of the MOST comfy little dresses I have ever worn.

The material is so soft.  It actually feels like I am wearing  lounge clothes.

However, you can clearly see I am not!

Let me show you some of the features of the dress, I love, and how I paired it up with some accessories to make a somewhat casual dress a little more Debbiedooish!

{My 80's hairdo} 

I have had this shawl like, scarf for sometime, and knew it would look great with the dress as it is the same material.  I threw on some simple jewelry and I was ready to go. 

One of the reasons I chose this dress, was for the drop waste.

I am a curvy girl, and this type of waste line seems to be a bit more flattering on me.

It happens to fall in just the right area along my hips. Nice thing about it, is there is no elastic to ride up when it is not suppose to if you know what I mean.  

Makes my tummy, "appear" a tad smaller than usual.  Again, it is because of the cut and the way it fits.

I love the little pocket too. Just adds a little casual to it, but like I said paired up with some accessories you can jazz it up.

I chose a little black half boot, and some gray wool tights.  This dress can easily be worn throughout the year, with sandals, or even with cute little slip on tennis shoes. Dresser up or down, it is very versatile.

Oh I must mention sizing.  This dress is a small.  My normal dress size is an 8, which is typically a medium. Shabby indicates to go a size down, which I was a bit hesitant.  As you can clearly see it fits like a glove, so their recommendation was spot on.

What I wore to Prince and pics that don't make the cut

Second picture of me on my blog with a beer...really I only like one before we go out..and as you see that is not that often. Prince was so Awesome! Necklace from a local boutique, top and light weight sweater from TJ Maxx.

I was really trying to take a nice picture of this scarf, that I won in a giveaway. I totally forgot the gal I won it from, so if you are reading this Thank you so much! I love it. Of course I look drunk, I  swear I did NOT have  a drop, and note I have food in my teeth.

Now as you can see this could have been a very lovely picture, thank you son!

But I have to wonder where my son get's it from..thanks Mike!

What I wore Wednesday, on Thursday

Last night bunco, today lunch with the girls!

I have the life, and I know I do..!!~ Thank God for my blessings indeed.

Well, another crappy, rainy day here.

What to wear? when I want pink, blues, yellows, and sandals.
I want Spring attire, not this.

 I whipped together this three layered top,

The outer top is two pieces, then I wore the brown one with a ruffle underneath.

I love layers...

Today I surprised him..

when he came home from school, he immediately smelled something familiar that he had loved.

What my son wore Wednesday from Goodwill

Yep, you heard me! My son wound up with  Goodwill duds for his big day!

I went to 4 other stores before I hit GW up.  He is in such an awkward size right now.  He is tall and thin like his Dad of course. Boys clothes do not fit him, and Men's clothes are iffy, depending.

I think he looked pretty darned good.

He was happy with the duds...and for a whopping $20.00 Mom done good!

The suit jacket came from Goodwill. Tie is Mike's and he had the black shirt already.  

He has that serious look.  He said he felt very grown up tonight.  

Of course some of the Kid's wanted to know if that was Mike's Jacket...he said, ummmm...you see my Dad he is 6'4 LOL!

Ok the shoes...all Italian leather, looked never worn...$3.50!

These fine young men are in the ROTC program in High school.  Alex is planning to do ROTC. Although, he has no desire to join the Military.  He is looking forward  to the experience of training and learning. ( really he wants muscles I think to impress the girls...I'm just sayin) 

He is excited, and says he is up for the challenge, and that it will be.

And there he is amongst the other class mates whom also received this honorable award.  

We are in a wonderful school system. Our experience here has been nothing but positive and very promising for the future.

What I wore Wednesday and out the door I go!

 I love this top, I bought at a local boutique here. 

I am on a mission today to find my 13 year old some dress clothes.

Alex is receiving a special award tonight, for scoring exceptionally high on the PSAT scores.

He was invited to take them early because of his current academic levels.

Needless to say we are very proud parents.

But geez, nothing like having to get some dress clothes from top to bottom at the last minute.

As smart as he is, the boy is NOT organized,

he dug out the paper last night , all crumbled up and it looked like it had been out in a

a winter storm and found it's way back.

How sweet it is....meet Lyndsay

 To meet a young couple in Love. Ahhhhhh....I remember those days. 

To be honest though, I have said this before, I actually Love Mike more today, than I did then...and I loved him obviously, I married the dude, but there is just something about time....

So meet: Lindsay from My Happily ever after

What a beautiful bride she is indeed!

Lindsay has all the same passions and dreams as the rest of us.

To create a loving warm environment.  

Hope she knows, it takes years and years to finally get there...and that is a good thing, because you have fun getting there. What a blessed couple to have such a beautiful first home to work with.

If there is one thing that really became apparent to me in this past year of blogging.  Is that I attract all kinds of folks!

Really I do, I have young gals, older gals, in between, shabby lovers, modern gals, antique lovers, country cobblers, you name it.
And that is what I LOVE is the diversity and the eclectic mixed bag. So go along with Lindsay as she and her husband explore the world, decorate their new home and just have fun.
