My first DIY no sew burlap pillow project of the year! My FIL,during his last visit here, brought me a few more burlap rice bags he was given. I did so many useful things with them last year, I thought to myself hmmmm...what can I come up with now.
All supplies on hand as you can see.
I cut the bag to where you can see the entire rice graphic.
then I stuffed it...pinned it, and used liquid stitch in sections...easy iron on process for me.
I used the twin as just a decorative embellishment. Poked small holes in the burlap to tie the twine on top.
It really turned out cute...
Of course with the extra pieces of burlap, I just scattered it here and there.
Then with another extra bag, I just used it on the table for now...
I perhaps will make another pillow.
Then just for the heck of it, I tied some twine around my chairs...
really no rhyme or reason...just because!
so that's what I have been up to today!
How about you?
Let's get this newbie party started!

Cute Pillow Debbie, you are the queen of burlap ideas:)
Great projects to start the year, Debbie...Christine
I like those projects with the grain sacks! Good ideas! (wink) I haven't done a darn thing "creatively speaking" this weekend. My kids have been sick with HFM virus even though they're older than usual to get it. So, we've been sitting around watching movies and eating choc chip cookies that I made. It's been a lazy weekend.
Debbie, love your burlap pillows; and all of your vignettes! Looking forward to seeing more of your creativity in 2012! Happy New Year!
Very fun project! And I love this party...I've met some of the sweetest bloggers and got great ideas! Hugs! ♥
What a great idea to use the burlap for a pillow. Thanks for hosting!
You know you had me at "no sew" :-)
Hi Debbie! I just joined up the the newbie linky party and the first time I did it said *ERROR*. Then, I linked up again and now there are TWO! I'm so sorry! I tried to delete one, but can't. My apologies for accidentally adding TWO silver tablescapes. Please take one off!
Thanks,
Sarah

Nice, Debbie! I love how the pattern lines up just so for the pillow.
Nice pillow Debbie!
Sadly, I think this is my last post here as a newbie :( I cannot begin to tell you how much I have appreciated your support and mentoring! I will continue to check you out daily to see what new amazing creation you have come up with. I'll also be joining in on the copycat challenges as it enables me to think outside my comfort zone. It's time this newbie leaves the nest and flies on her own! Wish me luck :) Many hugs!

Hi Debbie, I love your pillow! Looks great in your kitchen. My grain sacks still smell so I haven't been able to do anything with mine. Have a wonderful day...hugs, Gail
Hello Debbie! That pillow is just too cute!
Hugs,
Olivia
What a fun pillow. One of these days I am gonna drive straightway there with an old sewing machine and teach you to straight stitch. With all your craftiness I KNOW you would be a good seamstress! Liquid sewing, indeed!;>)
I think it is really wonderful that you fil thinks of you and shares his stash with you- xo Diana
Love the rice sack pillow! The texture is great and it makes me think of all those 25 lb rice bags that my parents just tossed throughout my childhood that should have been saved for crafting! ;-) Thanks for sharing.
Love it Debbie! I'm looking forward to what you do in 2012.
Cute Debbie. We have some burlap rice bags somewhere.
Love your no sew method. Thats my kind of sewing! It turned out darling and I love how you just added pieces here and there!
You are so creative!
Happy New Year my friend!
Megan
Your pillows are marvelous! Love your spontaneous spirit!
Debbie
I love the rustic look of the grain saks. I have a few. I also have an antique flour sak that was in my family. My Dad's Auntie and Uncle owned and operated a bakery in Long Beach CA and I had one of the flour saks matted and framed. I need to redo it though, because my colors are now different. Happy New Years kiddo!
Love the texture and graphics Debbie. The little ties were the perfect embellishment.
darling pillow!
That is amazing. Crafty people amaze me! I have a crafting black thumb!
Love that pillow and the ease of making it. Wishing you the happiest New Year ever. ♥

Debbie, if you're this creative at the beginning of the year I can't imagine what your creative juices will be cooking up later this year!
Debbie,
Oops. Messed up my link up. You can delete (#58 entry before and after) -- the one without a thumbnail. That's what I get for opting to crop myself!
Thanks,
Linda
