DIY no Sew burlap pillow {grain sacks} NEWBIE party started!
My first DIY no sew burlap pillow project of the year! My FIL,during his last visit here, brought me a few more burlap rice bags he was given. I did so many useful things with them last year, I thought to myself hmmmm...what can I come up with now.
All supplies on hand as you can see.
I cut the bag to where you can see the entire rice graphic.
then I stuffed it...pinned it, and used liquid stitch in sections...easy iron on process for me.
I used the twin as just a decorative embellishment. Poked small holes in the burlap to tie the twine on top.
It really turned out cute...
Of course with the extra pieces of burlap, I just scattered it here and there.
Then with another extra bag, I just used it on the table for now...
I perhaps will make another pillow.
Then just for the heck of it, I tied some twine around my chairs...
really no rhyme or reason...just because!
so that's what I have been up to today!

I like those projects with the grain sacks! Good ideas! (wink) I haven't done a darn thing "creatively speaking" this weekend. My kids have been sick with HFM virus even though they're older than usual to get it. So, we've been sitting around watching movies and eating choc chip cookies that I made. It's been a lazy weekend.

Sadly, I think this is my last post here as a newbie :( I cannot begin to tell you how much I have appreciated your support and mentoring! That is one cute pillow and every chair needs a little twine bling every now and then!
Happy New Year....... love love love the pillow and right now my shop is in shambles..... everything off the walls and stuff piled everywhere ....... We are painting... just could not stand it any longer so got out the paint and started today....... I will take pics tomorrow and show the transition..... THEN I hope to get the creative juices flowing and get some things made ......... This is my year to open my web site and do some crafting....... Love the rice sack pillow! The texture is great and it makes me think of all those 25 lb rice bags that my parents just tossed throughout my childhood that should have been saved for crafting! ;-) Thanks for sharing.

I love the rustic look of the grain saks. I have a few. I also have an antique flour sak that was in my family. My Dad's Auntie and Uncle owned and operated a bakery in Long Beach CA and I had one of the flour saks matted and framed. I need to redo it though, because my colors are now different. Happy New Years kiddo!

Deb !! to cute..i would love to see you use some as curtains..i have a post on my cabin visit on my blog..and they actually used grain sacks as curtains..thought it would be cute over your kitchen sink window..with some tie backs for sure because i now you would want to see out your window while doing dishes..just a thought..
