The Eve of Christmas... {newbie party on}

Well, well, Merry Christmas everyone!
Hope you are all enjoying your day!
I thought I would throw up the Newbie party link, and whomever shows up, shows up!

We had a wonderful Christmas eve, and I wanted to share some pics, and something fun I did with my boys.

Alex is 14 and Jack is 10.  As you may have read recently the cat is out of the bag for Jack, that Santa really is not existent and does not bring the presents....

sigh, yes a very sad day.

{Napkin holders from my sweet friend Ginger}
However, I wanted to make it fun.
Normally, we open Christmas morning.

This year I called the boys downstairs  {Christmas eve night} and said I have a little something fun for you!
How about we play a family fun trivia game and you have to answer three questions at a time before I give you a gift?
WOW, did they ever act fast on that one.

The questions were all related to the family, and them of course... ie...
what was your Kindergarten teachers name?
who was your very first friend?
what is Dad's favorite TV show?
What was Jack's favorite toy to play with when he was 3? etc. etc....

They really enjoyed it, and so did Mike and I!

Today has been a chillin' day for us.
I have a home made pot of sauce on now, the kids are quiet and playing, and me...
well...I have already starting taking down some Christmas stuff.

Getting ready for some Winter decor.
Sharing my story with Donna from Funky junk interiors
Let' s party..

Your boys are so very handsome, one looks like like you quite abit and the other like your hubby, although both have a bit of both, the switch over to winter decor is a good thing, I feel the same,, christmas is over and I'm ready to take it all down,,

I remember going thru "them finding out" with my children, but it did not seem to bother them - more of a "oh - ok" type situation. My daughter said my grandson knows, but won't admit it. :D
I started to put some decor away a bit ago, but guess I will wait til tomorrow.
Have a great week!

That is a sad time when they figure it out about ole Santa, but I still label some gifts from Santa anyway. My boys always chuckle about that. I love your game, especially because it is centered around the family. Great idea! Merry Christmas to all of you!

Sounds like you had a fun game with the boys! Things like that are what make Christmas so special.

I woke up wondering if I dared start taking Christmas decor down and decided I didn't because the little girls haven't had their Christmas sleepover yet...well, there's always next week!

Merry Monday- xo Diana

I think I will just enjoy the day instead. Hubby is off, so we may catch another movie. We went to see We Bought A Zoo last night with two of our kids after leaving my brother's house. Cute movie.

Debbie, what a cute game to play with your boys...love it! I know it's sad when they grow up and find out about "Santa." I'm not sure when my son figured it out because he surely didn't let on. I think he was worried the gifts might slow down. lol
Happy New Year, friend!

So I'm a tad too late for this linky party but allow me to just say THANK YOU! As a brand spanking new blogger (got my first follower recently) it's very hard to really get your work out there. It's easy to get lost in the throng of experienced bloggers and I can see why people get intimidated. Also, while followers are nice for me, I'm honestly not all that worried about how many I get as each one would be precious, but it's really nice to be able to come here as a newbie and see the others like me who are starting. I know my comments to them will mean a lot and they could really use the encouragement so thanks for helping me find those who really need a kind word. ;)
