What Is Generation Y??

Well, I've always wondered about this myself..& now I know.

People born before 1946 were called (The Silent generation)

The Baby Boomers
, are people born between 1946 and 1959.

Generation X
, are the people who have been born between 1960 and 1979.

And Generation Y
, are the people born between 1980 and  2009

So, why do we call the last group Generation Y? I never really knew until I saw a cartoon which explained it very eloquently below...& sure makes sense doesn't it!!

Scroll on down.

Have a great day! And why, tell me please does this Generation feel the need to show butt crack??

Sorry for the typo, should have been 1960... I am sitting here with a TENS unit on my left shoulder & it causes my typing to be a little erratic. (Tens units send out electrical shocks to block pain) I guess I should preview my posts before I click publish!

Hi Debbie!

Thanks for the laugh...It provoked a thought...Perhaps after all the generations of seeing "bursting boosoms", someone thought they would give a new twist to the whole thing, so they too could have equal opportunity at attention and be stared at too! LOL!

Have a great weekend, Karen

You are cracking me up! I couldn't even comment on the foot one! That grossed me out! I am a Generation X'er. I guess that is why I say "gross me out"! I could have said, "Gag me with a spoon!", but I didn't! I'm cool like that! Ha! :-)

I'm not sure but I wish it would go away. Sometimes I see kids with the waistband down to their knees. Of course, they are wearing long shirts but still. I think if they had to run they would fall flat on their face LOL.

Wonder if anyone will confess to being a Y? I am an X, soooo many differences between Xs and Ys. Debbie, most of Brooke's preschool peers' parents are Ys, that explains it all!

Oh, Debbie, this is a issue with our kids. A couple of years ago it was really bad, I made my son's friends pull the pants everytime before coming in to the house! Now with the way pants fit for girls, my daughter has a hard time with it, when she bends over, we'll tell her "Your quarter slot is showing".LOL :)

That is too funny. I don't know why they think that is cute I guess. I don't like when everyone wears their pants down low with the undies showing either.
