That was Great!

Thank you so much for your overwhelming responses to my last post. I certainly was not expecting that. So glad though. It helped me and others get all different points of view. I feel bad I missed Leann's goodbye post. It must have been the week my boys started school and I was not on much. Well Leann, I understand and respect your decision, still miss you though. You are a super neat lady, and I really felt a connection out here to you. Weird, but I did!!~ I wish you all the very best.
Melissa's blog ( Keep calm and decorate) was hacked into by spammers and it is back. So I am sooo happy she did not up and leave us!!~ She is a super creative young woman with such a wonderful joyful spirit.

Is blogging addicting? YEP it is?(IMO) Do I feel a sense of addiction? Well I did at first. It has slowed down. I used to have 4 posts at a time in my archives ready to go. Worried that I would not have enough to keep you coming back.  Well now, I post as I go....If I have things to share, wonderful, if I don't I am OK with that too. I do not go and buy things just to buy them.  Blogging should not cost you money. TIME yes, money NO! I have learned to re purpose things a lot better.  I do NOT post everyday.  There was a time early on I was ready to throw in the towel. But I am glad I worked it out.  I realize truly at the end, Blogging is for ME, to release this bottled up energy I have inside. I may have things you love to read and ideas you may love to Copy! COOL, I am happy with that.  Other times, I may bore you to tears.  COOL with that too, as my blog is going to be a book at the end of the year and I am going to give it to my boys to save someday. Lucky kids!  Do I feel jealous at times over other blogs? YEP in the beginning I did. But not anymore. I think I just felt perplexed more than anything. Like how do they get all these people to come to their blogs, how do they get such a following. What do they do, that I do not? I had all those questions and feelings.  NOW, I don't care much at all. I have established out here what I wanted, and I do exactly what I want, with no high expectations. I just be myself!!~ There is no pressure in that at all. So that is the advise I would give any new blogger.  Just be yourself, do what you love. Joining MEME parties is a great way to get your blog out there.  However, on the flip side, I see girls join 5-6 parties on one post, and when I go to comment, they are lucky to have a couple comments. And yes it is disappointing when you join a party week after week and the host never even said ONCE hey thanks! But on the flip side of that, it may bring you  a new visitor or two that just loved what you had to share and will now follow you. So I try to see the positive in it, even if I still think the host is RUDE!  We all know the time it takes  to link up to those parties. Some hosts get over 200 links. I feel at this point they know who are the regulars and they know who are the newbies....go WELCOME a newbie would ya!? You will make their day. It is getting increasingly difficult for me to respond and visit all the blogs I love to.  So I do understand when people do not get to me every time and comment. So please do the same for me:):) My intentions are very very good, just time is a FACTOR in our Lives!

I read every comment word for word and was so touched by all your sincerity, and honesty. I did not answer you all back, as I just can't today:):) Taking the day off from blogging.

What Is Generation Y??

Well, I've always wondered about this myself..& now I know. People born before 1946 were called (The Silent generation) The Baby Boomers, are people born between 1946 and 1959. Generation X, are the people who have been born between 1960 and 1979. And Generation Y, are the people born between 1980 and  2009 So, why do we call the last group Generation Y? I never really knew until I saw a cartoon which explained it very eloquently below...& sure makes sense doesn't it!! Scroll on down.     Have a great day! Aprons~~

Ok so I see these adorable Aprons everywhere.  Have been tempted to buy one...they are a little pricey though.  But anyhow....are women really wearing these again? Do you wear one? It reminds me of Mrs. Cleaver...and I can tell you I am not Mrs. Cleaver!!~LOL  no offense she was  a nice lady, but way too patient...always sweet, and well, just not ME!!~LOL

After looking at all these again, I have decided....I am getting one...I will put it on my birthday wish list....hey I may as well look cute while cooking, maybe I will even start dancing! Which one is your favorite?

Chat it up Tuesday!!~

Today I have decided no meme's for me!!~ I decided today I would chat it up a bit.  I love to talk, talk often, on the phone, on the computer, to my husband, etc. etc....  I have always been a talker...even in school...shhhh....the boys think I was an angel~~~ (and Mom when you read this you shush too). Yes it is true, I talk a lot!...give me a cup of coffee and WOW you are really in for it!~ Now let me set up the dynamics of my household...I live with all Men! Except for my little pug Lucy, who if she could talk she would.
My son Alex who is almost 13 is my quiet son.  My  8 year old son Jack is the talker.  He talked at a very early age.  Alex did not speak a word until he was 3! I thought something was seriously wrong with him, he would just look at me and follow directions, point to every letter in the Alphabet when I asked him, but never spoke a word.  Turns out nothing at all was wrong, he is just the quiet, soft spoken type.  My husband Mike, he is in between, kind of quiet, yet sociable and very funny.  He is the quick witted type and  has a very large vocabulary.  I must confess when we first started dating, I would go home and look up words in the dictionary because I did not know what the hell he said, I of course acted like I did!!~ I pretended to be smart as well....thank god he thought I was cute and funny, because he later found out....I lacked some knowledge haha!!~ Now that I set the family dynamics up, let me tell you what I really THINK!!~ Have you ever watched Charlie Brown?  Remember the teacher? (Mrs. Donovan)  WHAWHAWHA??? well this is what I am convinced I sound like to Mike and Alex.  I can't tell you how many times I say or ask something of them and they are looking like they are listening...turns out most of the time, they say "what you never told me that"?!!~Now I hear this often of women, that their husbands do not hear them, or pretend not to anyway. Is this just the hard wiring of Men, or are their Men out there that really do listen when their wives talk?  Now I am not saying this is all of the time.  But I do find it to be often.  Then there are times Mike surprises me.  For instance last year we where shopping in World Market, and I saw this cool pop corn maker, it is called the whirly pop.  If you do not have one, I recommend one.  Anyhow, I mentioned casually that day that I thought it was cool.  FOr Mother's day that year, he bought me the whirly pop LOL!!~ Now is that because it revolved around food?  Or was he in tune with me?  Tell me your thoughts on this because I really do want to know.... Is this what my family is really thinking?  Oh No Mom is talking AGAIN!!~

"Unique"

 

 

 Yesterday before my commercial, my husband left a special card on the bathroom vanity sink for me!~ It just tickled me, and really made my day!!~ I got to thinking last night about the word unique, and below are some examples of what the dictionary says:

The only one or as the sole example; single; solitary in type or characteristics

Having no like or equal; unparalleled; incomparable

not typical; unusual

Limited to a single outcome or result; without alternative possibilities

What I started to think about, and not that it is a new revelation or anything, but worth sharing the thought!!~ We are ALL Unique, we all look different, dress different, have different hairstyles, like different home decor, Parent different, talk different, have different family values, share different beliefs, etc, etc.

 I am so grateful to God for making us all so different, because just think how boring the world would be if we where all the same!!~ I am happy to be a part of this Unique World we live in.  We should all respect that in one another and perhaps learn from others.  There is always something good we can find about someone else, that we may not see in ourselves....so with that being said today tell someone you are UNIQUE! or perhaps even tell them they are UNIQUE!!~~Reflect today how you are different, how others are different and......Have a wonderful weekend!!~ Make it "Unique"

 

MoVie Star look a like??

Since I was a very young child I have been told I look Like Liza Minnelli.  Well I never took that as a Compliment!  I am not Sure why! However, this Week on Facebook, you had to upload your current profile pic to a Movie star look a like!    Have yOu ever Been told you Look like someone famous in Hollywood? I have to say there where some awesome look a likes on my facebook page! It was really neat to see!

Shopping, couPonS, saVing MoneY~~

This week, first time in a loNG time we decided to cut coupons and shop for all the best food dealS!!~ I don't want to say we did not care, but I guess I was too LaZy to cut couPons, and If I did I forGot them at home.  NoW that hubby is not getting as muCh OT we decided we wouLd be a little more FruGal, than Frivolous.  My Husband seems to thinK we can save about $150.00 a montH!!~ Please Share your thoughts and points of view.  Do yoU have a couPon organizer?

Self esteem IssUes~~

Every Friday night my girlfriends and I get together.  Girl time is much needed In my ever so humble opinion. It  keeps us grounded and SANE!!~ We certainly learn a lot from each other,and value and respect each others opinions.  One thing I see in general with Women is, sOme, a lot actually, suffer from LOW self-esteem!! WhY is this I ask? is it society, magazines, super Models looking ever so perFect and thin?? Movie stars Looking flawless at 50? I knOw women younger than myself, that already have had cosmetic surgery, whether it is their BOOBS, tummy tucks, lipo, Botox, which that is not cosmetic, but obviously a look younger quick Fix, I mean who doesn't want to have poison injected in their face to keep that ever so lasting shocked LOOK?? I will be the first to say, I do not want to get OLD Looking, however it beats the alternative so I do what I can to stay YouNg and fit! Of course I see the lines on my face, my neck starting to gobble, the cellulite growing in numbers (MEN do not notice Cellulite) just ask Dr. OZ!! With all this being said, I did tell the girls that I do not EVER FOCUS,  on what I do not like about myself....what I do everyday no Matter what, is looK in the Mirror and picK one thing I DO Like about myself for that day! Whether it be I am having a good hair day, my Shirt looks cuTe, I love my New necklace, whatever it is, I leave thinking a positive thought about myself! When I said focus what I mean is, of course as I mentioned above there are things I do not like, however, why dwell on it?  I thinK everday we should take the approach of telling ourselves what we DO like, it will Make You feel good, and yOu will inject that attitude  to Others.  Because all the surgery, BotoX , and whatever else they can suck you into, Will NOt change your Thought process, if you do not looK in the mirrOr and see something positive. In fact I thiNk plastic surgery becomes an addiction to a certain degree. Once you fix one thing, you thiNk well, maybe now I shouLd fix My eyelids, etc... WhaT are Your thoughtS on this?  Now for ThoSe of you reading, and you have had anY of the AbovE, I am certainly not Judging You, I am only staTing my OpioniOn here, bUt would Love for you to ShaRe wHy yOu maY have Done this if It where Not medically necessary?  I certaiNly do not want to go under a kNife unless I have to, and Let's face it, one time Or anOther we may have to..........

InFluences~~

Throughout our entire lives, we all have had someone, somewhere have an influence on us. Some good, some not so good.  Fortunately, at this time I do feel my boys are not easily influenced in a negative way, they are making wise choices thus far and seem to be influenced in positive ways. I will not kid myself though, as I am certain to hit some major bumps in the road ahead!  One thing I tell them all the time is, every Parent has their own way of handling situations or what they allow and do not allow....RuleS are not always the same for everyone! I think sometimes Jack would like to teach other Parents the do's and don't according to our house LOL! He does have enough tact not to though!  So whether it be something your ParEnt taught you, a TeAcher, a FrienD,etc. etc. what did you learN?  Is it SomethIng that always stuck with You? I would LovE to hear the positive influences,  MiND SHaring?.............

Just hOw do You handle Negativity??

Seems as though the WorlD is loaded with all Kinds of people, some Happy, soMe sad, some with a Chip on their shoulder, and just soMe baD.  I do fiNd as I get older, I do not Tolerate neGative people Well.  We all may have an occasional bad day, that is LiFE!!~ How do You think you handle negativity? or Negative people?

I thought this would be a good topic.  With today's economy being the way it is there are families I know talking about the cost of college.  What are Your thoughts?  Are You saving now?, Did you PaY or did they have to get student LoAns?  Do YoU think you Have or will teach your child good values of saving money?

EnTertaining~~

Saturday evening my family and I where invited to a good friend of ours for dinner. Very nice evening indeed....when I do not have to cook, of course it would be delightful:)  I started thinking how much I too like to entertain for family and friends.  Do You Host Dinner parties?  If you do, is there something special you do each time to make it a success?  Do You make a special punch?  Do you make it formal or casual?  Do You prefer outside to inside entertaining?  I would love to hear all about it!!

Just a FunNy littLe StOry...

 

So yesterday I decided I woUld try YOgA at the YMCA.  I do not relax enough and thought this is a good start to the New Year...ya know seeing I know my purpose now.  I enjoyed it very much.  Well Jack my 8 year old son who is also a Black belt was very excited that I tried Yoga.  On his way to KaRate yesterday he asked me how the class was, I said "it was wonderful, the teacher even gave us mini massages with lemon oil".  He said Oh yes Mom I see in China they use lemon juice, and ya know it even makes the Chinese fly!  I said Jack that is impossible humans can't fly, I said perhaps in his Zen mind he was flying, he said "Mom you always tell me AnYthing is possible" so I know this was real!
