Being
the
Zealous student I am, HERE I am participating in Alphabet Thursday with Miss
Jenny Matlock Yes we are on vacation, and as I sit here with my morning coffee by the pool, kids sleeping, Mike working out at the gym, I thought I would tell you a little about my VACA so far. Even though I feel like we have done a
ZILLION things, we are still relaxing in between and having fun. On our very first day...my youngest JACK had to go to urgent care and get stitches! He jumped in the pool and hit his chin on the edge.
OK so that puts a little damper on our ZANY family as far as the swimming and beach activities go, however, we are making due and and still enjoying just the same.
Did you know stitches do not look like this anymore?
NOPE they now use super glue!
So now we have been still going about pools, and beaches, however, Jack can't get his head wet...a bit challenging, but could have been so much worse. The good news was we ZIPPED in and out of Urgent care! So it really did not ruin the day!
Now as far as eating and drinking go....well nothing is being short changed there. In fact come Monday my skirt will not be going up like this.
So I really hope that Miss Jenny recognizes my brown nosing qualities, and my ZEST for life and to her class.
That's it for today folks! See you next week!

Oh no, your poor son! I'm glad that you seem to be having a great time despite his little accident.
are you serious about the glue? no matter, sounds like you're having a fun vacation
Sorry to hear about your son's mishap! Poor guy. Glad to hear that you're having a great time anyway! Enjoy
Lisa
Glad you are having such a great vaca! Sorry about the stitches, I know it's so cool that they use glue now. When I had my knee surgery, they even used it on me. It just washes off and leaves no marks...it's so cool, just like you and your wonderful posts. Glad you participated in Alphabe each week.
Awww Debbie, what a shame to have your little guy have to get stitches on your vacation. I'm glad he is okay and still able to have some fun! Have a great time!
Hugz,
Kim
Kudos to you for posting on your vaca! So sorry about your son, but sounds like it's not slowing you down a bit. Happy Z day to you and good luck with the zipper:)
So glad you're having a great time despite yr son's accident & great too about the glue. So much cleaner & simpler!
Have a lovely weekend,
LOLA:)
PS Mine this time is HERE. Hope you can join me!
Oh, poor Jack!!
Hope the rest of your vacation will be great! :)
I remember when my boys were young that we never got through an entire vacation without a trip to the emergency room!
Oh..the good old days...
Have fun! Poor Jack!!
Oh my, what a way to start the vaca. I am sorry about the accident. Made me cringe when I read how he did it. It sure could have been so much worse. Broken jaw or even his neck. You just enjoy sitting out by the pool while I clean the house and now I am going to go up and walk on the treadmill that I just got back to yesterday.
I'm glad you are all having a good time in spite of the mishap. Kids bounce back so fast...I bet he was in the pool as soon as you got back!! :-)
Wishing you loads of fun!
xoxo

crazy that they use superglue now, what if they miss??? LOL :D
Aha Debbie! I LOVED that you blogged while on vaca!! Now, that is what a true blogger is!
Hope Jack feels better and hope I fit into a skirt someday. Sigh.
Poor Jack! Glad to hear that despite Jack's incident, you are still having a great time!

Hurry back! We miss you and glad to hear your son is going to be okay!
Thank goodness Jack is ok. Ya, it takes alot before they will actually do stitches these days! Good thing super glue exists! Pretty random huh!? Well glad your vacay is going great, you deserve it!! Have lots of fun!!!
Poor Jack! Glad it wasn't worse, but wait a pain in the tail for the little guy to not get his head wet. I had one summer where I had burned my leg horrible and couldn't get in pools and another summer where I broke my arm and couldn't swim. Those summers sucked!!! Glad he is alright and you are enjoying your time there. Can't wait to hear about your trip when you get back!
I am glad Jack is doing okay and enjoying his vacation!
Too bad about Jack but knowing how you are, your family will still be having a fun filled time. And about not getting that zipper up, just worry about it when you get back. I'm sure there are tons of good things to eat and who wants to miss out on that fun. Glad you checked in. Hope the rest of your vacation is accident free. Great Z post.
Isn't that crazy how they use super glue now? Glad you at least got out of the emergency care place quickly.
Love your skirt that won't zip up image.
Fun post.
=)
Ouch! I felt his pain, like you said it could have been worse. Super glue thats a new one one me, you learn something new everyday. I now know emergency care in USA is A and E in UK. Hope you enjoy the rest of your hols.
I'm so sorry about Jack's chin! Bless his heart! But the glue is waaaaaay easier to go through that the stitches! OUCH!!
My Cameron had a broken arm at the beach one year and though we tried to keep that cast dry....alas, we failed and it stunk something AWFUL!!! The minute we got home we got that thing taken off and a new one put on! lol
Duct tape and a garbage bag did NOT work!
Have fun the rest of the time :)

It is pretty zany that they use glue these days...although when I had to zip t the ER, they used real stitches...I was shocked actually!
Goodness, that is a start to your get away. Hope he is fine now. Yes stitches are different. I used to use lig. stitiches on inmates(I am a retired RN) who cut themselves...it was fun! I do not miss it...blogging is more fun by far. Have a relaxing fun time.

Hi Debbie,
Sounds like you are enjoying your vacation. Sorry to hear about your sosn's mishap but it sounds like he is ok. I can relate to the superglue, when I was pregnant with Oli I fainted and split the back of my head open (head landed on a cast iron drawer puller Ow!)They had to glue me back together. I was so relieved they didn't have to shave my hair lol.
Wishing you lots more fun on your break.

Proud of you girlfriend for posting on vacation! Yeah for Z!!! Sorry for the chin cut and super glue (I have heard that) but sounds like a fun time otherwise. Enjoy!!!!
the zipped up skin looks a bit painful...wow super glue...never would have thought...bkm
What's a vacation without a visit to Urgent Care? Glad you're still having fun!
how could that be?
super daring efforts.
have fun with your game.
I'm glad Jack is O.K. That must have been scarey for him(and you). Have a great time!
Annette
Glue? Really, wow Deb. I'm glad you shared this just in case I won't be surprised. Hope Jack's feeling better...but you know vacation, kids and the ER all go together so at least you have that of the trip over with.
Keep us abreast of what's happening tomorrow if you have the time since you've obviously found some restaurants you like. Good for you! Keep having fun!

Have fun you guys!
Hi Debbie, so sorry about Jack but I am glad it wasn't any worse than that. Enjoy the rest of your vacation..Christine
Ah yes, super glue. Both kids have been glued...glad it wasn't more serious. I hope you have a great rest of your vacation!
OUCH!
What a ZANY thing to happen!
I have seen the new stitches, and they are so cool (if you can call an injury cool).
They heal faster and leave less of a scar!
I hope you are wearing your SPF and enjoying the sand and surf!
Hugs!
~me
Youch! We've never had to do stitches thank the Lord, but I can imagine how much fun that must have been!
super glue, who knew it would be so useful ... and they use it in crime solving as well ... thats just crazy ... crazy glue! So sorry about your son ... keep on enjoying your vacation!
Debbie! I know you are on vacay but if you get this before Sunday night I am having a giveaway on my blog and would LOVE for you to enter!!
Hope you are having a nice trip, or it has gotten better since the chin incident!
Oh boys and their stitches...or glue in your case! My youngest son split his chin open twice in the space of a month so he has a nice scar there. I was stapled after my c-sections, that was a weird experience!
I didn't know you were on vacation but I hope you're taking lots of pics!!! I've been so lazy about blogging lately but I did re-do a nightstand this week, next week I'm going to get started on our dining table and see if I can make it look presentable:) Have fun and tell those boys no more injuries!!!
Hope Jack still enjoys the rest of the vacation..Have fun Debbie!
Sounds like you are having a great time in spite of Jack's accident. I will be glad when it's time for our VACA...I need one badly!

Hope your son is feeling better and will soon be able to go in the pool( with out getting his head wet, that can be a big problem when your young)Enjoy your VACA and don't worry about what you may or may not fit into on Monday. VACA's are for fun!!
Yay for Super Glue!!
Ouch! Good to hear that your son is doing well and still able to enjoy some fun in the sun!
Love to hear that all of you are relaxing and having a great vaca!
Blessings & Aloha!
(Oh...I was looking forward to being a part of your fun Before & After meme...When did you start? I seem to only manage to get around once a week for blog reading...and will have to go back through some of your older posts.)
Your vacation sounds wonderful. Well, almost all of it anyway.
I didn't know that about super glue. Next time we'll just save the ER charge and do it ourselves - ha!
I suspect with all that running around your zipper will zip up just fine!
Thanks for this fun stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday.
It is always wonderful to stop here!
A+
