Garage Salen Party ON!

Mike and I love candles, love the ambiance they throw off, and as you know we love a lot of  Catholic, Spanish style decor. This recent piece really started with a 50cent purchase I made at a thrift store.  I think Mike liked the look of the aged brass. From there it sent him on a mission browsing through ebay for this very special piece.  Leave it to him to find them.
Although this score, may not be the "cheapest score" it was however a very good deal. Mike does his homework and found that these type of pieces are very expensive, they run from $500.00 and up.  We won the bid for $100.00, plus shipping.  This piece is MEGA heavy.
Let's start with the 50 cent piece.

The pair of aged brass were a total of $1.00!!~ I really like what they added too.  Now onto the Altar candle purchase from EBAY.
Has a total of four saints, one on each side.

Looks great lit at night. Gosh, I am so over Halloween decor, HA, does that surprise you. Can't wait to tear it down.  Enjoy the Garage salen party. Have fun visiting with others.  I will have the link up tomorrow morning.

Love it, looks like a great piece.! I wanted to do some Dia de los Muertos type decorating this year instead of the usual Halloween stuff, but never got around to it. Your pics made me happy, and I'll have to tackle it next year :)

But I am SO with you! I am over the halloween and fall decor already! Come on Christmas... haha ;)

I love that your hubby joins in the decorating fun with you sometimes! You both have great taste! And I LOVE that you said that you are getting sick of Halloween decor. I am right there with you and already have sugar plums dancing in my head waiting for the time when we can bring on the Christmas decorating! :-)

Wow! That was quite a find. I have never seen them that cheap. Now tell the truth...did someone STEAL that from a church to sell on eBay? just asking.... It looks perfectly at home in your foyer. Great piece of scouting on your hubby's part. Hugs- Diana

Awesome candle! That sure does look heavy!

I have to laugh that you are ready to tear down your decor. I never decorate for Halloween. I just do the fall route that way it is up longer and I don't have to deal with the other stuff.

Debbie that's a special and unique piece. I notice you have an antique clock on your mantle. I have something that looks very similar. I don't think there are too many around like that anymore.

So pretty (and how great that your hubs shares in your passion for them)! I love your use of candles all over. Unfortunately, with a 4 year old who likes to sing Happy Birthday and blow out every candle that I light, I've been reduced to battery operated ones for awhile. LOL Take care, *Becca*

How interesting! I would not have realized they were alter candlesticks unless you told me. There are several very large brass candlesticks at this new thrift store I have seen, I wonder? Just kidding, they are not as beautifully detailed as yours! I really love the saints on the differents sides that's what totally makes it even more special. Your husband is a wonderful collector. I hear ya about the Halloween dear, I'm over it too already! Haha! Hang in there, it's only one more week. :)

Hello...tis moi again! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I've been such a bad blogger lately:( Partly due to an annoyingly slow computer and partly due to feeling that I'm running out of things to show in my teeny little home! But with the holidays coming I'm feeling inspired again and glad I still have friends here in bloggyland:)

Make sure you have some tissues handy for Oprah, it's a tear jerker story but ultimately a happy ending:) Have a lovely weekend my friend!

Debbie, I love the alter piece and sometimes you just have to pay more for larger pieces like that. It commands attention. The estate sale I went to today had gorgeous Madonna two dimensional plates for a couple of dollars. They sold fast of course. Thanks for the link party. I seldom take pics of my goodies but I did today! hugs♥olive

That is a really wonderful altar piece. It looks great in your entryway. And you didn't have to leave the house to find it. Or is that a bad thing, not being able to shop for it, and see what else is out there? Thanks for hosting the party this week.

LOVE the altar candle holder! Your husband is apparently very considerate, thoughtful & generous. All of your decor is beautiful. Funny you should mention the Halloween decorations ~ I was sitting today & watching a movie and thought "I'm over all this!" :-) I don't have that much out but it's also a small space.

Have a wonderful Sunday!
