Garage Salen Party ON!
Mike and I love candles, love the ambiance they throw off, and as you know we love a lot of Catholic, Spanish style decor. This recent piece really started with a 50cent purchase I made at a thrift store. I think Mike liked the look of the aged brass. From there it sent him on a mission browsing through ebay for this very special piece. Leave it to him to find them.
Although this score, may not be the "cheapest score" it was however a very good deal. Mike does his homework and found that these type of pieces are very expensive, they run from $500.00 and up. We won the bid for $100.00, plus shipping. This piece is MEGA heavy.
Let's start with the 50 cent piece.
The pair of aged brass were a total of $1.00!!~ I really like what they added too. Now onto the Altar candle purchase from EBAY.
Has a total of four saints, one on each side. |
Looks great lit at night. Gosh, I am so over Halloween decor, HA, does that surprise you. Can't wait to tear it down. Enjoy the Garage salen party. Have fun visiting with others. I will have the link up tomorrow morning.

What a great piece!!
Very pretty and fun that your hubby went on the hunt for it. Thanks for promoting my giveaway!!
Love it, looks like a great piece.! I wanted to do some Dia de los Muertos type decorating this year instead of the usual Halloween stuff, but never got around to it. Your pics made me happy, and I'll have to tackle it next year :)
But I am SO with you! I am over the halloween and fall decor already! Come on Christmas... haha ;)
-Ann Marie
Debbie, what a nice large piece. That was so nice of him to find that. My husband doesn't really like me shopping on ebay. Tough!
I don't get tired looking at your Halloween decor because you have so much going on...it's very cool. And I can tell you really get into it!! Love your new candle sticks!
XO,
Janie
Oh girl...I ADORE that candle...WOW...sigh...I want me one of those too....just beautiful...
Oh, my, your man did GOOD! That's an incredible piece. And the 50 cent ones look stunning with your mantle vignette. LOVE what you've done for Halloween.
That is gorgeous Debbie! I love candles also, my MIL doesn't light any of hers and it drives me crazy!!! I think candles should be lit!
I don't decorate for fall but I'm already getting ants in my pants to decorate for Christmas! I can't wait!!!
Nice that your husband took the time to find the piece. You really get into the Halloween decorating. :)
Now that is a wonderful piece! I love that!!
Love candle glow at night...and I bet that IS beautiful at night!
Liesl :)
Debbie, I love your candle holders especially the alter piece. How nice that your husband gets involved in the decorating. Tell him he did really good.
xoxo, Sherry
I love that your hubby joins in the decorating fun with you sometimes! You both have great taste! And I LOVE that you said that you are getting sick of Halloween decor. I am right there with you and already have sugar plums dancing in my head waiting for the time when we can bring on the Christmas decorating! :-)
Vanessa
Love all of your Halloween decor!! You do it up right!!!
That huge candle stick is amazing!! What a find!!!!!!!
I was thinking the same thing about my Halloween decorations. I think because I started so early this year.
Great bargains, Miss Debbie. La

Nice candle sticks! Pretty foyer.

Wow! That was quite a find. I have never seen them that cheap. Now tell the truth...did someone STEAL that from a church to sell on eBay? just asking.... It looks perfectly at home in your foyer. Great piece of scouting on your hubby's part. Hugs- Diana
Awesome candle! That sure does look heavy!
I have to laugh that you are ready to tear down your decor. I never decorate for Halloween. I just do the fall route that way it is up longer and I don't have to deal with the other stuff.
Hey there- Love the candlestick- it is amazing! Love that you decorate together too! I am sooo waiting for Halloween stuff to get put away and to deck the halls!! I LOVE Christmas decorating!!! I'll be back over to join the party! :)
Love the candle sticks! Ha! I was wondering when you'd admit to being over Halloween decor, lol! Notice My picture???
You make me laugh!! I love those cobwebs you have there!! Very cute!
I think the lamp looks awesome. $100 is a GREAT find for that!
Love the candle sticks, and what fun that your hubby is involved in the hunt.
Everything is wonderful. Your hubby is the best! Ebay has some great stuff. It was fun looking at everything.
I love aged brass! Great find & I love that your hubby helps you decorate the house. Truly making it 'your' home together. That's awesome!!
Have a great day tomorrow!:-)
Hugs,
Coreen
They are all gorgeous but the altar candle has serious presence.
It looks great, Debbie. I love it! I have an altar here at home and have a collection of saints and religious icons and of course the Virgin Mary and Jesus. I like the wooden ones....Christine
Debbie that's a special and unique piece. I notice you have an antique clock on your mantle. I have something that looks very similar. I don't think there are too many around like that anymore.
Wow the altar candle is fabulous!!! I love ebay, I must say I have found a lot of things there. I was just thinking y fall decor will be here until the day after Thanksgiving when I will go into a marathon Christmas decorating frenzy. I'm just not ready for it!
So pretty (and how great that your hubs shares in your passion for them)! I love your use of candles all over. Unfortunately, with a 4 year old who likes to sing Happy Birthday and blow out every candle that I light, I've been reduced to battery operated ones for awhile. LOL Take care, *Becca*
You have great pieces, Debbie, and you foyer looks fantastic with that high ceiling!
How interesting! I would not have realized they were alter candlesticks unless you told me. There are several very large brass candlesticks at this new thrift store I have seen, I wonder? Just kidding, they are not as beautifully detailed as yours! I really love the saints on the differents sides that's what totally makes it even more special. Your husband is a wonderful collector. I hear ya about the Halloween dear, I'm over it too already! Haha! Hang in there, it's only one more week. :)
Thanks for listening the other day, I appreciate it! Now I am back, so here we go!!!
Your alter candle is just terrific and your Halloween decorations are so spooky!
Love,
Susan and Bentley

Great finds!! Looks great, I especially like the floor one!
Love the altar candle, it looks great with all your Halloween decorations! ~Marcy
Just popping back by to say thanks for linking up to the party this week! :-)
Vanessa
I did put your link at the end of today's post. Am I supposed to put the link at the end of the post I am linking to or my current post?
I love the alter candle! I'm a good catholic girl who remembers staring at them thru many a mass! OK, so you are almost done with Halloween, of course I cannot wait o see pics of your sons party. Do you do Thanksgiving with the same gusto or skip to Christmas?
Carol
The alter candle is beautiful. Wonderful item for your home. I am ready to move on to Thanksgiving decor I think!
So, so love it!!! I swear you have the best eye to go shopping with. Can I come over--I think you should schedule a day trip and let us follow you around...hahaha!!!
Great deals for sure. I found a few things last week, but they aren't ready to show...even as simple as they are to clean up!!
What a terrific find! It looks nice there in your entry, but this is a piece that can move about. Nice that you have a husband that takes an interest and searches things out. ~ Sarah
I'm coveting the altar candle.....
Hello...tis moi again! Thank you for stopping by my blog, I've been such a bad blogger lately:( Partly due to an annoyingly slow computer and partly due to feeling that I'm running out of things to show in my teeny little home! But with the holidays coming I'm feeling inspired again and glad I still have friends here in bloggyland:)
Make sure you have some tissues handy for Oprah, it's a tear jerker story but ultimately a happy ending:) Have a lovely weekend my friend!
Debbie, I love the alter piece and sometimes you just have to pay more for larger pieces like that. It commands attention. The estate sale I went to today had gorgeous Madonna two dimensional plates for a couple of dollars. They sold fast of course. Thanks for the link party. I seldom take pics of my goodies but I did today! hugs♥olive
That is a really wonderful altar piece. It looks great in your entryway. And you didn't have to leave the house to find it. Or is that a bad thing, not being able to shop for it, and see what else is out there? Thanks for hosting the party this week.
LOVE the altar candle holder! Your husband is apparently very considerate, thoughtful & generous. All of your decor is beautiful. Funny you should mention the Halloween decorations ~ I was sitting today & watching a movie and thought "I'm over all this!" :-) I don't have that much out but it's also a small space.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Pat

Debbie- Oh what an amazing purchase! You wonder where it came from? I am started to contemplate my Christmas decorating. Fall lasts forever and I'm ready for a change soon, too!
