I am not paying that price!

So I made my own!!~ Not crafty as we are well aware, however this seemed pretty easy to me.  I saw this garland in the pottery barn catalog, they are great inspiration, and I love their ideas, but no way will I pay their prices. Soooooooooo....I started with this, and ended with that!
Created on the computer and copied it on white paper

tea bagged the paper, let it dry, cut it with the craft scissors

And attached it to the tree with a clothes pin

And here is the inspiration originally from Potter Barn. Now if I really wanted to get crafty I could have jazzed up the clothes pin with some glitter, but NAH, this was enough for one day.

Not bad for a rookie, if I can do it, you can do it! Have fun. Oh and I did add some music notes found in the craft scrap book section at the Walmart.

I had that exact PB garland in my hand Sat. Then I looked at the price ($12 for a VERY small amount). I then looked at the tree it was displayed on and saw that they used 6 ROLLS! Needless to say, it went back on the shelf. I do love that store, and honestly I use it for inspiration more than anything. I can see you do to. Great project!!

Yes you can do different words...I wanted them the same size because I also made something else for the tree, soon to be shown as well. Thanks for the compliments, I am feeling confident in the craft section now.

You go girl. What a terribly creative idea. Love it. Don't you enjoy making something and not paying those overprided mall/catalog amounts. They are getting out of hand.

It's a keeper.

You are better at crafting than I am. I don't know how to download fonts and print like that plus my printer doesn't work right anyway. Those are great looking.

Pam @ diy Design Fanatic told me you had a post on the same banner from Pottery Barn! Love your adaptation! I'm going to try to use a roll of brown wrapping paper to make a similar banner but it will say "Happy Birthday, Jesus" instead. Since I can't run it through the printer, I think I'll just use a black sharpie or something. So much better than paying the $12 for less than 2 yards of garland!
