Christmas mantel
Took me here and there of every day for a week to finish my Christmas Mantel. I decided after featuring some inspiration pictures, and seeing some mantels out here in blogland, I really wanted to do some fresh greens. Remember I could not move the clock. So this is what I came up with, Mike like's it, I like it, kids don't care and we are all happy!
If you are wondering what I am using to enhance my pictures, I am using PICNIK, so much fun! |
My first two pieces of mercury glass, very pretty! |
As you can see my Pottery Barn knock off tags are here and there as well. I also wrapped my books in Christmas paper. |
Fresh cut greenery from my own back yard. I sprayed a little snow on it as well. You also notice I used some scrabble words. |
I also brought in some fresh wood and added it to my copper tub. |
Last year has nothing on this year. Of course, I learned a lot this past year from so many inspiring women, YES that means you! HEY you better get on in the CSN GIVEWAY $60.00 I will be joining a few partays today. It is very homey and comfortable looking. I love the Scrabble tile words but then, I am that way!! :)
Debbie!! That is unbelievably gorgeous! Is that a chandelier hanging above the mantel? When the photo popped up I thought it was your inspiration from a magazine and then I realized it was your own mantel! So beautiful with all of the carefully thought out details. Great job!

I already commented once but just had to come back and share this. I was going back to my first post wondering when I started blogging, I knew my 1 year blog-a-versary was coming up and guess what...not only were you my first follower but you were also my very FIRST comment!!! Awwww, you were so sweet and encouraging:) Just had to share that!
Looks gorgeous and green and sooo Christmas-y!! I love the snow, the wrapping paper, the tags and the candle!
Debbie! Your mantle looks great--so much different from last year. Don't you love all that we learn from each other here...and how our tastes change and evolve? It is beautiful!
What did your Mom say about the soup tureen? By the way, the cord that goes with it is one of those old fabric wrapped ones and dangerous as a kid with matches!
Have a great rest of the week...I am off to work tomorrow! Hugs- Diana
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pretty!
I need to doo my mantle and everthing else, ugh!
(I am staging and de-cluttering, too!)
Dumb timing, I guess.
Well, it's fun looking at your decor, anyway!
So merry and bright!
HUGS,

Hi again, try specialty gift stores for really good looking snow globles for your gift. The big box store ones are fair but not great.

Carrie that tree was given to me many years ago. I know the under layer is twig and then it just looks like glitter is all over it...I like it too. Thanks:)

Hey Deb, quick question for you. I already told you how much I love the mantel. Ironically im noticing the bowl on the coffee table. What are those things called. Im making some by hand for the kids party on Friday and they keep asking me what they are but I cant think of the name. Any idea?

You have on your party hats...How did you do that! OK, I am blonde so you have to give me a break. You said you took train trips with your grandfather and hence the name Debbiedoos, so what does the name Debbiedoo have to do with grandpa and trains?

Hi Debbie...
My friend, your mantel turned out beautifully! I love all the fresh greenery but have a question for you. I would love to use fresh but worry that sap, etc. may ruin the finish on my mantel. What did you do...or do you have any suggestions? Anyway, it's all gorgeous...love it!!! Thanks for sharing it with us...how inspirational!
Warmest Christmas wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design

Hey, Miss Deb! Your mantel looks delish! Love all the fullness in the greenery. Don't ya think using Scrabble tiles is genius and fun? Yeah, I know you probably saw mine last fall... Just kidding.... Everyone has been doing it for a while. I wonder who I borrowed the idea from? LOL Sorry I haven't been visiting- I am SO far behind trying to get my house done. I have cut back significantly this year but still can't get going. It's the over-achiever in me saying I MUST do everything I've always done before! I should seek help.... We should enjoy the holidays not stress about them, right? I'm trying.....
Holiday Hugs~ Sue
