Make your next move

So, what do you all think so far of all the things that have been put out there for newbies, and for oldies but goodies alike?  I sure hope you are finding it as helpful as I am.
I have learned a thing or two myself this week, and that is always a good thing! There is more to come. I have another guest post on Tuesday, and you will find that to be very informative as well.  Then one more after that, and that should wrap up our coffee tips Tuesday.

As you can see I changed my background and my header.  The last one was busy, I admit, however it was more reflective of my personality. I do however, have to be considerate for you too when you come over and read me, and I was having a hard time myself.  You see it is all these little things that count too.
I have mentioned TIME goes into blogging and connecting.  One major subject I would like to share is
the EXPORTING of our blogs.  Did you know your blog can just VANISH? POOF, Gone one day? Yes, I have heard about it often.
So at least once a week, save your blog. How do I save my blog?
That's easy.  You go to your
dashboard...then hit
Settings
On that very page you will see
Import blog - Export blog - Delete blog

Now hit Export Blog
THEN you will see:

Export your blog into the Blogger Atom export format. You can do this to move your blog to another blogging service or simply to store your blog on your own hard drive. Learn more Don't worry, your blog will still remain on Blogger until you delete it.
Download Blog
Hit dowload, and your blog will be saved in a XTML file.
That's it...now don't forget to do it.....you do not want to be one of those gals who lost their journal of life. Thanks Gloria from Happy to be  for mentioning that to me...keep em coming!
Guess who cooked again tonight? I know, he's a keeper!
He made Rouladen, it was delicious.

He cooked, I worked on a project...just a mini one.
Stay tuned, I have a new feature coming up soon.

Gloria also just sent me this link to test how long it takes your blog to load.  You know some are slow, people get frustrated and leave. Test yours today.

I have heard of people losing their blogs. I haven't ever saved mine, but I think I will now. Do you save it more than once and if so, how often do you save it?

Dearest Debbie,

Great blog with valuable information. I've been saving all the URL links to my blogs, don't know if that would help to get back to them. I've read that this would help if someone is logged out or being hacked. All kind of things can happen.
I have no idea how the format looks, the one you describe here. And if you can bring that back, including the photos...?

Lots of love,

Mariette

Thank you so much! You know, I have been to so many websites that counsel us to back up our blogs, but have any of them actually shown us what to do? Nope! Thank you for showing me how to do this. You rock.

You know I have not done that backup yet. Not sure how, but will look at it. It scares me to do things like that. Can you send him over here to cook!

Hi Debbie Dear! OH, this was a good post! I've just learned how to save my blog and thought about posting about it! Now I don't have too! This is such a 'must'!
Now what happened to that basket? Boys? Hmmm...little wheels are spinning in my most tiny brain.
Be a sweetie,

I haven't saved mine but I'm going to do this. After ignoring everyone's advice to back up my picture files, not listening and then losing them all on my old pc this is advice I'm definitely going to take! How often do you save yours? Is a weekly thing?

Great post Debbie! After reading about several bloggers losing their blog I discovered how to save mine and have been saving it once a week. I may have a small blog, but it is important to me and I would hate to lose it and all the hard work I put into it.

I like the new look of your blog Debbie. You are correct in stating it is not as reflective of who you are. When I visit you I know I can expect to see bold, bright and cheerful colors which is how I see you.

I don't have a hubby to cook dinner for me, but I do have a DIL who is beginning to spoil me by cooking for me!

Hugs,
Tracy

Debbie, I just want to say that I really appreciate all of your newbie tips and help. I followed your tutorial and finally made my very own button! I'm so glad that I got myself acquainted with your blog. I really enjoy reading what you have to say. I really appreciate how you are reaching out to help people not because you have to, but because you WANT to! I look forward to what you have to say next! Take care and keep up the great work!
