Anticipation
I had this pretty bee picture for about 10 years now, purchased through Ballards catalog..I think it will go along nicely with my romantic theme. |
This candle sconce I purchased a couple of years ago at Marshalls. I have two of them and they used to hang on my wall in our guest bedroom...I think they found a new home for now.. |
My husband was a little apprehensive that we could transform modern furniture to looks shabby french.... |
This is the second coat with just the chalk paint. |
Pretty shabby French if you ask me! |
I will take nicer pictures for the full reveal. |
Just a collage to show you how it is all coming together in the romance department....There is something to be said for a bedroom makeover...that's all I am saying!!~ |

I love your new dresser Debbie. I have never tried the chalk paint but have seen several mention it. May have to give it a try.

oh là là (The correct way to say ooh la la)...lol...
Mr. Doo's was doubting Mrs. Doo's furniture transformation abilities? I bet he won't do that again! From the little peeks you're giving us it looks gorgeous!!
You are becoming the transformation queen, great job!! The cats are not cooperating for a picture...I will have to slap them into shape! LOL The pet party is fast approaching!
Carol
Are you honeymooning again??? I can't wait to see the whole thing...but have to say I am really liking the chalk paint look! Hugs- Diana
You have been busy !! I have not tried the chalk paint, but I don't have a real home decor project going on right now.
That is quite a transformation! Using the chalk paint was a great idea. I have never tried distressing but you are making me feel brave enough to try. :)
It's pretty amazing what paint can do to a piece of furniture. It really looks great. Is this the Cream color? It doesn't look as yellow as the piece I was painting. Maybe it was the basement lighting. Can't wait to see when it's all done!
Marianne :)
Love the dresser! It's amazing how you can take a piece of furniture with decidedly modern lines and completely transform it. Terrific makeover! Thanks for sharing.
Love it Debbie!! It's shabby indeed, beautiful transformation but then again I knew it would look great :) Martina
Can't wait for the great reveal, Debbie!...Christine

Your sanding is perfect. I haven't learned to do that well yet. Was nervous sanding my first time, probably didn't take enough off.
If you make your bedroom too romantic, you and your husband may not leave the room :-)
The dresser looks great, Debbie.
Can't wait for the reveal ... keep up a romantic feel, and we won't be hearing from you much! LOL *Becca*
You have vision!! I wouldn't have ever tried it! The dresser turned out great! The votive candle holder is very romantic...You are achieving your goals! Now let's see it all!!
He'll come a runnin' now! Sexy! 8>)
It is looking Beautiful! I started my master bedroom makeover back in February (I think) and it is pretty much done except to paint and add wall decor. Hopefully I can work on that in a week or two. My wall behind my bed is kind of like yours. It is really big and we have vaulted ceilings. I bought the monogramed flags from bed bath and beyond. A big flag with the letter B for our last name and the initial of mine and my husbands first names of the smaller garden flags. In my mind I think it will be cute, hopefully when I get them put up on the wall I will feel the same! :)
I love it. I have got to try chalk paint. As soon as I'm done with painting the kitchen, I want to paint my kitchen table. I'm looking into chalk paint. You're inspiring me.
You are so right Debbie and your bedroom is looking VERY romantic. I am in love with that bee pic Debbie!! The furniture pieces you have done look amazing. You really have been working hard here lately and you inspire me! I love the direction the bedroom is going in and I think it looks BEAUTIFUL!

Your dresser makeover is tre chic, Debbie! I love the knobs. Can you tell me what chalk paint is? I've never heard of it. I am so glad to see there is a Marshall's just 15 minutes from our new home. I've not shopped there in years, but I have a feeling I will be going there alot now:)

It is quite the transformation. I am still stuck on the cost of this chalk paint. I had better stick to buying plants! hugs♥O
Debbie everything looks great!
You've done a great job!
What exactly is chalk paint? Everybody is talking about it in blog land. What is the difference between that and regular paint?
Wowee!!! That looks so incredible Debbie and I am super impressed that you took something so stream-lined and made it look so warm and "shabby". Great job and I can't wait to see the entire reveal!
Vanessa
Oh my goodness...you are killing me! I can't wait to see the big reveal. That dresser is making me swoon!
I must try this chalk paint that seems to be all the rage. Every time I see a project using it I'm super impressed. Looks gorgeous. I can't wait until the full reveal.
Oh, You naughty girl. Now I know why it is taking so long to finish this room. LOL.
I am loving the dresser. I wish I had the nerve to do shabby chic = distressing. This looks so fab you would never believe it was once modern.
Can't wait for the reveal.
Thanks for your sweet visit. Love Ya Girl, Ginger
Hopefully you'll find the perfect piece! Can't wait to see the reveal!

Everything looks amazing! I am so impressed with how the chest of drawers turned out! And I totally love the knobs that you selected.
Sounds like a bedroom makeover is a LOT more fun than a garage makeover! ;)
Hello Debbie,
You did a fabulous job transforming the dresser! I have been reading so much about the chalk paint and am going to try it for my next paint project. I cannot wait to see your final reveal!
