Looks like you are going for a vintage romantic look. How about a collection of hand mirrors above the bed?
Danielle
Throw in your love of both things and do a platter with your initials in black and then do some soft vintage prints of pink roses or flowers on each side. I have a pretty one of some pink crepe myrtles that I could do a vintage texture over and give to you and then something with pink roses since you have them in there! Pretty, pretty!
Your headboard is gorgeous!!!!
I love that idea Kathryn..the problem is the MAN...I am trying to keep it where it is NOT too feminine..I had suggested something with roses in it, and he was LIKE NO WAY, not liking it LOL!
A collection of various sized mirrors would be pretty. Vintage/look with mottled glass. Hugs, Ginger
What you have already done looks amazing Debbie! I am dying for a vintage mirror, just one vintage mirror but they're so expensive! I hung a mirror over our bed, being that we're in earthquake country I'm a bit nervous but it's on a hook so hopefully it doesn't fall on us.
You have such great style, you'll figure it out and it will be amazing when you do!!! I visit so many blogs and I start getting in a frenzy about all this stuff then I figure, you know what...I am who I am and my style is my style. You have such a fun style Debbie and it's part of who you are so don't leave that out!
Are you planning on redoing your headboard? I have covered a couple of headboards like that with stuffing and material, that would give it a little more romantic look depending on the fabric you choose. I also love the mirrors. If you can find some vintage frames at thrift stores simply buy a mirror (craft store) to add to them... MUCH CHEAPER ;)
I'll be checking back to see what you decide on. Lovely photos.
Debbie with your style bed I think white ironstone plates and platters would look great. Maybe not as many as that first photo.
I'm voting for mirrors, do you have an Ikea near you, they have a great collection of vintage looking mirrors, inexpensive and I think they come in a grouping of 3-5
Carol
So many inspiring photos. I love the vintage look you are after.
First I must say that I just love your new bed. Wonderful choice! And I think that some pretty white plates would look fabulous over that bed. It's not to frilly for hubby and pretty for you. I just think that it will complete the vintage look that you have created.
Marianne :)
Debbie I just love your new bed, it's so pretty!! I like either diff size plates and platters or diff vintage mirrors. They would both work well. Martina
I am no decorator so am no help, but am a mirror girl. I like how the mirrors look over the bed. Maybe you can do one large and some small. You're the pro not me:)
The eclectic design reminds me of you. To me, it looks like something you would pick out, so I vote for that one!
Definitely framed mirrors. You can always change the colors with your changing taste. Do an assortment of shapes and sizes. Some vintage, some not. Have fun with it. Or do empty frames?? Layer them?
How about a wedding portrait of you and your hubby?
I actually love the idea of the bed with nothing, however how about some vintage photos in antique frames, or I also like the suggestion of plates and mirrors. Hugs, Marty
Debbie you always come up with great crafty projects. I love the twigs over the iron bed. Maybe you can give it your own fem twist and make it more beautiful and romantic.
Hey you can always go my route and empty out your junk drawers and have them glued on boards to hang over your bed. lol

I love those square mirrors, not too feminine:)
I am a plate girl....if you were to stroll around my home, you would see plates of all sizes in every room. My Father-in-law once said, "You can eat in every room of Tonya's house because she has dishes everywhere!" I know you will make the right decision!
Weeeell, you could always hang a big ol' deer head. :) Yah, try seeing THAT over your head in the morning. Actually, I've finally convinced mine to let them live in the basement...where they are together...and happy. :) You always do amazing things. Whatever you do, hang it well: somebody I know had something over their bed and it fell in the night and hit the bridge of their nose. Thankfully they were alright, but what a fright to wake to!! Can't wait to see what you chose!! LOVE it so far!!!
I think one large piece or two good size pieces of vintage, bordello-looking, Parisian themed art would look great. If you put a collection of plates or mirrors over your headboard, the beauty of the headboard will be compromised.
What a lovely, lovely room. And that lamp is WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh SNAP! I am looking for some above bed inspiration too... You have given me some ideas... And I am still considering making a huge linen union jack flag with vintage linen and florals... Oh dear so many choices... What will I do? What will you do? ..... I can' t wait to find out!!!! X
Sounds like you have gotten some really good feedback Debbie. I personally like the idea of white ironstone plates and platters. Whatever you decide, will look fabulous.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Gail
Amazing collections of these snaps.snaps are looking cool.
Thanks for posting.

Mirrors, girl ... mirrors! *Becca*
oooh! so many possibilities to choose from :o) How much space above your headboard to the ceiling? I love both the platters and the vintage mirrors (Oh! I do love a grouping of ornate, various shaped empty frames too...that you could paint and distress)... What about a quote or phrase painted on your wall...some "love or romance" inspired quote? And if you don't want something permanent...what about some quote made from the vinyl wall stick up things that are so popular?
Whatever you decide will look amazing!!! Love how it is coming together!
Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you my friend for your visit!
Debbie, everything looks like it's coming together great... And your right, You do have a wonderful man in your life so you can't go to feminine. I would go with vintage mirrors.
Pattie
Very pretty..Thank you for sharing...HPS!
Depending on what is around the room, maybe an indiscreet architectural piece can be fun and won't take away from the bed. too much going on on top of the head board might be too busy. Just throwing it out there for some ideas. I bet your head is spinning with ideas now. Good luck and can't wait to see what you choose.
Caroline
We have curtains behind our bed. I know that sounds crazy, but it's totally jiving with the "romance" feel you're going for. Just a thought...here's mine:

I love all of the ideas that have been thrown out. I wonder if you could find an old window with panes, but replace the glass with mirrors.
I'm up for the idea of little or nothing...or little to detract from that wonderful headboard...how about taking that branch idea from your inspiration shots but doing it without the frame? Just a simple, natural branch in the space above the bed...you could hang a little glittery, romantic something from it...or not.
I love the branches over the bed in the one pic. You're so crafty, I'm sure whatever you do will look fantastic!
I agree w/Rikki, the eclectic one seems like it would fit you. I also like the one with the tree branch! Or how about you put a mirror in the middle w/a few pretty plates around it! Can't wait to see what you do!
Allison
Looking great. I think some type of mirror with a vintage frame would bring it all together without making it look busy. I love how it's all so stylish and cozy yet simple.
I like the idea of plates or an assortment of mirrors. I don't like a lot of 'busy' things in my bedroom. Can't wait to see what you do!
XO,
Jane
They are all great, but for some reason that first one with the plates seems like you the most....what fun you are having! We have sun today for the fist time in a very long wet time..yipee!!!
Hey Debbie. My favorite would be a collection if various things. Mirrors, a b&w print, your plates. I love that look in your inspiration photo. Love your blue painted nightstand. Can't wait to see the finished room.
I have faith that you'll come up with the perfect look for both you and Mike. You are inspiring me to make some changes in our master. ;-)

Just love your new bedroom. I was like you - I just needed something above our bed at the beach house so I settled on some wall words (http://atthefarmhouse-suzyq.blogspot.com/2010/10/i-have-been-having-so-much-fun.html). Hope you like it!!
Suzyq
I have no doubt that you will come up with something unique and cool and just awe inspiring. I am absolutely no help. I have a picture that doesn't "belong"...if only Goldie could see us now, ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!
