Got wood?

Nothing like finding a nice piece of solid  wood furniture.
Scored a nice piece at our local human society thrift store for $20.00.

I have been wanting to replace these cheapo book shelves in Jack's room for sometime now.
I was so happy to find this book shelf...and I could not believe the price.
Instead of painting it, I just used a stain.  The wood is too nice to cover up.
Of course a little stenciling had to be done.
It looks so nice and neat now in his room, if only for the photo shot LOL!
Now if only Jack would pick up a book and read a few this summer.
(He will, because I make him)

That was my latest and greatest.

Cute bookshelf! Love the stenciling on the side- Find him books about sports heros his age or something that he would love to know more about. My son, that never read, has discovered that he loves non-fiction. Try Into The Wild...I don't think the story is too old for him..it's about a kid that took off into the wilderness and the follow up looking for him. It is also a movie, I believe...but the book is better. xo Diana

I love it Debbie! It seems to be so rare to find solid wood pieces these days that you definitel need to snatch them up when you see them. I think the lettering on it is fantastic and you inspired me to try and do something like this on my son's dresser! :-)
