Painting furniture party!

I saw Cindy  was having a painted furniture party and I thought I would put a quick post together of some projects I have done this past year.
I have a lot of new readers that may never have seen them, so why not show you in one post.
First off, let me tell you, I was, and hopefully still known as the "spray paint queen".
Love me some spray paint.  However, since Annie Sloan chalk paint  has been exposed, I have put down the can  for now and moved on to bigger better things.  No offense Krylon, but you have nothing on Annie.
I started with our guest room furniture:

It was black, and I used this pretty duck egg  blue...
The can lasted forever, and I went on to paint some more....

This is an end table in our master bedroom...was a very dark espresso color originally.
The blue did not stop there, it went on and on..

and on....
Then I was given a can of  cream for hosting a giveaway..and decided I would totally transform our bedroom furniture, it was a risk and a lot of work, but the end result was so worth it.

Annie Sloan paint continued to make her way in our home...
And I started to do little projects..

I realized you could paint just about anything with it..no sanding, no priming...

This little table was $1.50 from Goodwill, the paint gave  it a cute new life...in the meantime,
lots of little things have received a new fresh coat of paint.

Now don't get me wrong, I still do love to use regular paint and stencils...and always will...

More paint and stencil love....

These bar stools were fun, and the best part is COUNTRY WOMAN MAGAZINE loved them too.
and for the record I am not getting paid to promote Annie Sloan paint, I am just giving a  personal opinion on how much I have enjoyed working with it.
Spray paint, will always be my friend, and my first love, you just never forget....

It sure has been fun sharing some painted furniture projects with you.

I will be joining:

Speaking of Annie Sloan chalk paint, do you know there is  MOUNTAIN of GIVEAWAYS going on NOW?
go check it out...

And if you are new to blogging, hop on in my NEWBIE party going on

Wonderful projects Debbie!! I am working on my first Annie Sloan project. In fact, that is how I celebrated my b'day yesterday.:-)

I am using a dry brush technique over paint, this morning and hoping it all works out. If it does....I'll post later this week. It is sort of a large project for my first A.S. attempt, but I decided to jump in both feet as usual.:-) I will say, some of my painting background (murals and canvas) has come in handy to cover a couple or three oopses!

Ooh!! I love every bit of it. That duck egg blue is GORGEOUS. I love those stools too. And yes, I've given the ol'spray paint a whirl or too on the dance floor.

Thanks for sharing. I had not realized Cindy had a party going. Must head on over.

XOXO

Debbie are your projects are beautiful! I have a question though. Does the paint feel like a chalk board? Is that a dumb question? I just keep picturing rough tables etc. I really want to try this, but that is my reserve.

Hi Connie, NO the paint does not feel chalky at all, after the wax and buff treatment, it is a smooth finish.

So if I want to paint my old bar stools I don't have to sand them if I use chalk paint? How do I distress them afterwards? Just use sand paper or add other paint?
