70's disco Party! Newbie party started

When Alex first came up with this 70's disco party theme a lot of his friends sorta smurked and said
"WHAT" a themed party?  Some even said they would not dress up. Alex made that mandatory, or you could not come!
They all came dressed and it was a HUGE smash.
My house is getting back to normal now.
I have lots of pics to share, so sit back and enjoy your trip back in time.

Let's start with Mr. Cool and his GOODWILL outfit. It cost me $6.00 and he loved it so much he said I should wear  this to school,
Ummm....NO! I don't think polyester is in. Although he was sportin the look for sure!

I found some really cute party decor on line....

The disco ball I bought online at Walmart. We had 70's karoke, and 70's music playing all night.

What would a cool 70's party be without twister? Boys and girls of course played that one!

We cleared out the coffee table and rug to make a nice dance floor. The couch was later pushed back as far as we could go.

I will make special note, that Jack was suppose to be bribed to stay up stairs for the night.  Did that happen NO!
But I will tell you he made  a great little spy! At one point he came outside where we were hanging and said
Mom, Alex and his friends are looking for an empty bottle...hmmmmmmmmmmm....

His friends were so funny, they all gag gifted him BREAD, biscuits, etc...
of course the real present was inside the bread.  LOL...It was funny!

I snuck in a few times and tried to get some pictures of them dancing...this is with the flash on, it was pretty dark and club like in there.
NOTE: Jack in the mix again!

Our friends even had fun dressing up for the party!

 Like the pink boots?
You may remember them from my friend Vicky, who sent them to me.
She is a big thrifter herself, and she found these on one of her hunts.  I spied them in a post, and mentioned how cute they were.
The next thing I know, they were in the mail to me!

For the record, there is Mike, smiling and sweaty. (Carol) he really does have teeth, and (Kim) he does not look  mean!  Good thing, I don't tell him how hard you girls are on him.
Really, I don't have a toothless, mean husband LOL!
I have my party hair/wig on. I love it because it looks so natural. A bit itchy though.
The kids were outside at this point so we snuck in, sang a karoke song, and danced for a few ourselves.

Forgot to mention, I kept the food simple.
Hot dogs, condiments, chips and pretzels...lots of coco cola too!
One more pic, I grabbed it from one of Alex's friends facebook. Not sure how he did this, but it is simply awesome...

Thanks for sharing Alex's special day with us..we all had a blast!

Oh, this brings back memories. I was a teenager in the 70's, but I didn't have any sweet pink boots!
It looks like your son and his friends had a great time. He looks pretty slick and is darn talented to have mastered that huge poster design.
I do remember playing "spin the bottle" at a few of those parties!
So glad my mother never found out!!

Don't laugh, but my daughter's spring wedding theme is "Peace, Love and Music" and she wants lots of Beatles music to be played. Other than that I don't know how we'll incorporate this theme into her wedding but I may need those pink bootts, Debbie...lol

Love your wig Debbie! Happy belated birthday to Alex. Looks like everyone had a great time, which makes a party a hit. As for the 70s clothes.....I hate to say I thought they were really ugly the first time around, and yes, I was around the first time. Eeks! Let Alex wear that polyester around the house, but turn off the air conditioner. Somehow I doubt you'd have to worry about him wearing that shirt in public anymore! Have a great Tuesday!
