I had a "dream"

Actually I have had more of a vision, than a dream~.
Our back yard area has always been a bit of confusion as to what to do near our firepit area.
We love to entertain, and often wind up on our upper deck. Which is great, however, when you start getting into more people, let's say more than 8, we are kinda clustered on the deck.
When we go near the firepit area, there is very little comfort and seating for everyone.

I can't tell you how many times one of us have slipped on the pine needles. Although, cozy, and have served the purpose for the 5 years we have lived here, it is time to step it up a notch.

This morning at 7:00 they started...

Here is a little of what I envision...

This looks dreamy!~
and a nice hard decorative surface would be nice too...

Wish us luck!~
Sometimes my visions turn out, and sometimes NOT!~
This is a BIG project. I was surprised Mike was on board right away.
Since we have lived in our home, we have made very little improvements, as the home was new and we have not had to, which is a blessing. I shopped around, did my homework, and knew what costs should be for a project like this, ie...price per square foot etc. I checked out the business with the BBB, got permits, etc.
ALWAYS, check out the BBB before you sign on with a company. I can't tell you how many people I know, have gotten taken, or a bad job done because they did not do their homework.

Have a wonderful day.

NEWBIE party still going on

Totally, absolutely, fantastic, that is just what I would do. I can't wait to see the finished splendor. I think it's going to have a very Napa-ie feel to it out there. What time should we be there? And, What can we bring....chuckling all the way to the market with a smile on my face.

Yeehaw!! How fun will this be for all of you!! You should see our firepit area!! It is an old washer tub out in the grove. The kids all used it like crazy when growing up to have parties out there with their friends. We have a sport court and they all had a ball. Closely supervised by me of course. And then we have a chimneya out on the back patio too. But we long for a pizza oven and real fireplace some day! Have fun planning. Also...wish I had joined the rooster party. I have them all over too!!!!

This will be fabulous! I can't wait to see what you do. Funny you should mention the BBB I was hiring a yard spraying company last week and it came down to 2 different companies and I went with the one with the better BBB rating! Glad I checked, because one company turned out had a horrid rating

your home is soooo beautiful, a home like that here in Los Angeles would go for close to a million!! so, theoretically, you live in a million dollar home!

You are very smart to do your homework with the BBB, we had a lot of work done in our little home but we hired people we knew, and even then we had problems....mainly the work not getting done in the amount of time quoted. We saved a lot of money in the long run but projects just seemed to take for ever. I guess that would be the downside to hiring friends and relatives.
