Home Wine cellar

This by no means is a fancy home wine cellar!
But it certainly is a cool one!
Packed with second hand finds, and things even thrown to the curb.
Back in the summer time when we visited my FIL, I had shared with you his antiqued filled basement

HERE
It really is spectacular, and who could think a basement that really has not been renovated or remodeled could be spectacular.  Well it is and it is filled with the greatest treasures.
I did not share with you his wine cellar.
My FIL makes home made wine.
WOW, is is good too!
How about I share with you some wine, and more second hand treasures.

He has many choices to suit your fancy.
they are all good!

This is just a small space, however, it is the perfect space for him to putz in and make his wine.

If I recall he said he made this, just placed this old candle stick on a board...
He is so clever.

These bottles of course caught my eye with all the pretty colors and detail.

Can you believe he found this in the garbage?
Key and all.  Boy would I love to throw some pretty chalk paint on this baby!

Love these!

And there you have the coolest basement I have ever seen!
I know most people like big screen TV'S, pool tables, game rooms, etc...but to me I would take this  over any of that any day.
When you go down there, you have history, conversation,
and lots of stories to be told.

Not to mention some good ole tunes going on his very old record player.
I think he made this entire contraption...
very cool!
Enjoy your day, and see you later on for the NEWBIE party.

What a cool space. Love the little barrel on the wall and I thought the same thing about that piece of furniture. Slap some paint on it. Gorgeous.

I love it! So much more interesting than a "normal" basement. He has so many treasures I'm sure it leads to great history stories. I'm so glad that you have this special guy in your life!

Neighbors of my mother's (eons ago) used to make wine...really, the guy did. I don't think he allowed it to ferment more than 20 min...tasted like vinegar or some other horrible liquid. My mother wanted us to like it ~ no way! :-)

Love all your father in laws bottles, especially the filled ones!
This is what a basement should look like, full of treasures, hand made creations and one of a kind pieces.

It sure is a fun basement and now I know there's wine down there it's even more intriguing:) I bet it is good wine too, most bottled wines use sulfites which give me headaches but your FIL's is probably sulfite free! YUM:)

I've never had homemade wine but would love to try it. Love wine tasting - Oregon is famous for their Pinot Gris - and I'm always up to trying something new. Cool photos.

Love the bottles! As for the fall comments yesterday, I hope fall is put off for a little while as it means that winter is just around the corner here in northern Wisconsin, UGH!!!!!

I am guessing it is the highlight of his year when you visit and you love his collections, nothing makes him happier than telling the stories behind each treasure to you, an eager listener!

What a really fun basement. Who needs a big screen when you have home made wine and music. Wonderful way to spend the evening.

Debbie, I love that basement. It almost makes me wish I had one! You know what I mean...more space would mean more things stored!!! Thanks for the Memory Lane tour...my dad had one, too.
