Monk

What is a Monk?
A monk may be conveniently defined as a member of a community of men, leading a more or less contemplative life apart from the world, under the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, according to a rule characteristic of the particular order to which he belongs.
Y'all know by now Mr. Doo's is a bit,
let me say different, in a good way!
.  Mike is a fun a guy, and really smart too.  Never a DULL moment with him.
He loves history and he loves conversation pieces.

His English pub is his domain.
YOU will never see me paint or change a thing.
On our recent vacation we went thrifting one day.  He found these three as I call them blind monks.  He loved em..and had to have them.
So here is where they sit, think and read...

They look like they are reading with their eyes closed!

I know, they are a bit out there! Mike loves them..and that is all that matters.
See you later for the newbie party.

Very cute little guys. My husband would give anything to have a space like that. How the heck did you get that piece of furniture into the house. Did you build it in place? Great piece.

They are so cute!
I love your bar area. My sister and her hubbie have a very similar one in her walk out baseent. It is so much fun sitting there.

We don't have any room for one, no basement when you live on a slab that used to be a dirt barn floor!
Your room is so lovely!
(Or should I say his room?!!)

Great story.

Why do we think we have to justify decor that makes our Man happy? I love the fact that Mike just had to have them ...and there they are!
I had the same problem with the 7 lb Bass fish on my living room wall!

I struggled with it...but then just Framed ol' Billy and changed his name to Art...he he he

Love the monks...quirky, but in a good way!

...I'll be watching the newbie party, Pat

Those are neat, I've never seen anything like them before. Now you just need to bring that spanish wall candle alter? you have in that room too. So it will go with the pulpit and the monks. :) I love how your hubs has an interesting flair for antiquing...that's really great!
