Transforming a picture frame! {DIY}

I have had this beautiful poppy picture for a few years now.
I decided to transform the picture frame.

You see one time back a few years ago, a friend from Rate my space gifted
 this beautiful poppy picture to me. She was so kind and thoughtful to do this, and to be honest I was blown away by it.

It was during a transition time that I was getting rid of the roos, and doing my kitchen  all poppies...

I had the poppies for a while, but some how or another the Roo's made their way back.

Terrible picture, this was before BLOGGING.
As you can see the frame is gorgeous as is the print.
I remember when she gifted me this, she said " Debbie it is yours to do what you want, you can change the print out when you want, change the frame color, etc".
Therefore, being a creative gal that she is, I know she will not mind what I did.
which btw, I emailed her, and she was in her usual down to earth fashion, pretty much saying I don't give a darn, I expected you to change it sometime or another LOL!
Thank you Lisa:)

I of course kept the print aside and  I am sure use it again someday.

{Noticed I stenciled the table too?}
Things always have a way of recycling around my house.

 {I went back to Walmart to get the other style lampshade, last one on the shelf!}

Close up of frame.
I painted it with antique white, paint and primer mixed in one by Glidden. I also used a dark wax.
Then I heavily distressed it.

This is the other side of my blogs and blabs area.
Our loft over looks the living room area, Hello family, I can see YOU!

I am still working on the other side, and NOT coming along as I would have liked.

I can't believe I'm the first today. I for one am glad to see the ROOS. But, I do love me some poppies. So we will call it a draw here. Great job on the frame and wonderful use of it too.... Now, about that last picture from upstairs. I thought I knew every little corner of your charming house, but this puts it all into a new perspective for me now. Great shot. Oh, and let me know if I will pass for the copycat.

Well, DAH Deb... silly me. I need to read the directions. Of course, I may try something new for the real holiday copycat. Let's just call my posting a highlight of things to come over there and a reminder to your parties. I really need to slow down and read a bit more. You are the best and do keep me on my toes.

That corner is looking great, Debbie! Love the new look to the frame. When I got my shade at Walmart it was the last one on the shelf, too. I think they only put out one at a time and everyone thinks they got the last one! : )

One thing at a time ;) I think we get a few too many balls up in the air sometimes and there is only one US! I know I'm going ten different directions right now. LOL
The frame sure looks pretty and I love how you can still be in on what the fam is doing while your working =) Such a great space!

I love the frame and the clock -So you just used the antique white paint? no glaze? oh and the lamp shades are so pretty . I just saw a antique letter rug on ballard that reminded me of the lamp shades.

I love the new look of the frame. It's funny because I was just looking at one of my own frames and thought I should paint it. It seems rather heavy looking in my bedroom. Now I think I will. Just need the time!
