Hello, Hello! Hope you are all very well today. I had a fabulous day with friends shopping at my favorite antique mall
Sleepy poet. I do believe they were pretty happy we came, as we all left with a little fun something.
In the meant time, I would like to show you a little of the entertainment center makeover.
Today, is not a great day for photos, so this is mostly snippets.
New hardware {sash pulls from the early 1800's}
were purchased.
You may recall our color choice dilemma
After much consideration, and reading all your lovely responses, in the end we
decided it was not a great idea.
Our family room is full of color and really this piece would just be a big ole eye sore in a different color introduced in the room. We did however spruce it up a bit.
These appliques I purchased at Lowes and Painted them black...then adhered them with the command strips.
I did get a few new things for the top of the entertainment center as well...
It all came together nicely, and quite reasonable with cost.
I can't wait for a sunny day so I can show you more...
Can you tell what I did to this pillow?
Yes indeed it is stenciled!
More on that later.
Thanks for popping over..
I will catch up soon.

Nothing like an antique mall on a cloudy day. Glad to see you found some treasures. Can't wait to see more. Hey, I just switched back too.
What a great fix and when you want something different, easily changed.
Oh! I was so cross at myself for missing your magazine copycat this month I just got next month's done. Can't wait to share :-)
What fun you guys must've had!! I can't wait to see your treasures AND your revamped entertainment center!
I'm sure you made the right decision in the long run, Debbie. Not every piece of furniture needs to be painted anyway.
small changes are good..
I think your solution with those appliques is a great one. I can't wait for a sunny picture taking day.
I love the stenciled pillows too.
Wish I had gone shopping today instead of taking the mister to the doctor and then for x-rays and then the pharmacy. Love the appliques and your new stuff.
I would have never thought to add the appliques with command strips...great idea!
Love the hardware and appliques! Hurry and show us!
Debbie
Brilliant...it gave it a touch of glam!!!
I was at All About Home today. Beautiful! I brought home a couple of things including a gift for a friend. It was a great shopping day here in NE MO.
Your cabinet project looks beautiful, Debbie.
Very nice, Debbie!!
XO,
Jane
Looking good Debbie:)
I went to Home Goods today but came out empty handed:( Your entertainment center looks great with the added appliques! Can't wait to see what you came home with.
Glad you had a good day shopping with your friend. Wish Charlotte was a little closer to Roanoke - although I know I was closer than a lot of your followers.
Some times small changes are better. I realy like your cabinet with the appliques.
Would loved to have been out junkin today looking for bling, but to much other to do.
Glenda
Love the changes! It looks great!
Oh how fun. I can't wait to see more. Love your home. Hugs, Marty
Oh fun... antiquing with friends!! The entertainment looks great!!
I'm sure it looks great! Only you can really sense the vibe, feel, wieght and balance of the room as a whole, no matter how many photos you share. Can't wait to see the whole thing =)
Since you have a stained mantel, I think leaving your tv cabinet alone works just fine! I like your black appliques added to it. It looks like it goes with the black trim on the top of it too.
Can't wait to see it Debbie! I bet it looks great!!
It looks really nice and you can change it up with the command strip things. I hope you had a great day! zo Diana
Love to spend the day antiquing!
I love what you are doing with your entertainment center Debbie! The appliques are perfect and I can't wait to see the finished result! :-)
Vanessa

Can't wait to see it all! You're always teasing us!
Since I am stencil challenged, I wonder if they make pillow stickers?
~Bliss~

Great choice of embellishments and hardware!
Looks pretty interesting! You are a non stop lady!
Love the wooden "bling" you added Deb. Great touch. I also love the sash thingie from the 1800's. Very cool!
xoxo,
Kim
Debbie, the entertainment center looks just great! You really came up with great ideas for adding trim.
Sure hope your wrist is better. I know what a problem it can be to do all you want to when your hands hurt.
Take care, my friend.
Hugs, Maki
Girl, I don't care if you are stickin' a flower in the dirt or redoing an entertainment center...everything you do is FIRST CLASS....and I always just love it. I am glad to catch a breath between crafts of yours...my tv stand doesn't need updoing and I am holding my breath that I don't EVEN like your next project as if I DO like it, I am in for another TRY with all my might to stay up with ya.
whew.......
I agree with you, keeping it the same color. I can see in your snipet that you have your fireplace surround ? the same color.
BUT, it looks AWESOME with those painted appliques! I love using them, and like you, with tape that won't ruin the piece when you remove them!!
Can't wait to see the whole thing!!!
xxDaniella
Yes! I'm glad you are using "stuff" to spice up that entertainment unit. You are a spicy gal and the accessories will reflect that.
Debbie, I can not wait to see the pictures of your entertainment center! I know it will be beautiful!
I love the new headed and background of your blog!
Debbie, love the appliques! They are just perfect. Now you have me on the edge of my seat waiting for those sunny day shots! Thanks for sharing.
I really am glad to hear that you didn't opt to paint this piece of furniture. Having natural wood tones in a room is not a bad thing! So many people are jumping on the painting bandwagon and wielding a paintbrush on everything in sight. Adding the wood embellishments was a fun and great idea. And I like your new look on the blog, as well. :-) Sue
