That's how the saying goes right?
Well for me it is all about the little things in life!
and I love simple little embellishments!
Little embellishments, little color, little something, something here and there.
I bought this applique from Lowe's hardware for I believe around $5.00. I knew my plan for it.
I was not sure what Mr. Doo's would think. You know, he does have a say, and he is an interior designer {not really}but neither am I! who's askin' and who's checking?
That you never do know.
Anyhow, I painted the applique with some left over paint, {antique white/Glidden with primer}, and then I took my cabinet color stain and went over it.
I thought, this space in front of the sink is a little plain ole!
"How does it look Mike"?
"Looks good Deb", you just have to center it" Ok Mike, you have the eye!
Gotta schmooze him sometimes...you know how that goes...
Centered now!? "Yes looks good"!
I love that 3M tape btw..works wonders.
"It's the little things in life"
Speaking of little things...
psssst...don't tell anyone, but that
little ivy plant in strainer...NOT so good, moving it outside and hoping to bring some life back to it.

Looks good Deb and I agree, its the little things..
may I ask- did you see embellishments longer than the one you used. I've decided the build my own bed , since I cant find one that suits me and that extra element would be great.. thanks~!
Yes, Sonny, they had longer ones as well.
Debbie, I love your applique'. I've bought several of those from Lowe's and used them everywhere from the risers on the stairs, to actually placing the on the arched openings to other rooms. They really do add "just a little something"!
Hi Debbie, I love it, I did that to a dresser last year and it gives it a little update that can be changed later if I want.
Hugz,
Kim

Debbie it's the little things that make me happy too! That embellishment looks great on your cabinet!
Your little embellishment looks good. Mike sounds just like my hubby. In fact mine would take over attaching it.
Great idea and little embellishment!! Your kitchen is so pretty...any time of year!
It looks great! I love adding things like that to anything that looks bare and at your sink was the perfect spot! Great job once again!
Yep, yep! I love it Debbie Dear! You're amazing! I love these little wooden doo lollies and they just add so much. I have added a few to my kitchen cabinets too. Course my kitchen is olden and white and my little doo lollies are painted a soft green. Love this stuff. Now I hope you'll rest the rest of the week...

Hey, this looks great Debbie!
You guys make a great team!
The little things bring me joy too.
xxoo
Looks great! I did this in my master bath and couldn't believe how much a little thing changes everything. Thanks for sharing.
Like it a lot!
I saw some recently and was tempted, but was not sure where I would use them. Need to rethink them.
Have a great day.
It's perfect!!! I never would have thought of that. You have such wonderful ideas.
It looks great! I've thought about doing that in my bathroom, but then I go in there and remember that our doors go all the way to the countertop, no cute little board to embellish- boo! :)
I love it, Debbie! I have one of those wood appliques and have wondered what I could do with it. This is such a great idea to add some interest to kitchen cabinets without doing anything major! I'll have to see if it works by my sink area, otherwise I'll be walking around the house holding it up to stuff. :)
Love it I think it adds a lot to the cabinet. I love appliques you can do so much with them.
Debbie, it looks so good!!!
My husband and I love wood appliques!
Something so simple but they make such a difference!
That emnbellishment is just perfect for that space! And, ironically, I have the same blank space in my kitchen, that that would fit perfectly in, lol!
It looks great, Debbie! I have often thought about putting one in that space, too. I think now I will! it really is the little things!
XO,
Jane
Love it! It looks like it's always been there and fits perfectly. I'm getting ready to add something like this to my vanity cabinet.

Morning Debbie,
Great job, I think that lil addition was definitely the icing on the cupcake! : ) I was wondering where to go to buy these, so thanks for the info. Do you have a tutorial or list of products as to how you achieved that patina. Would look great on a corner cabinet for my bed room. As one of your Newbie followers, wanted you to know I'm trying to grow and started my first linky party today: Frugal Treasures Tuesday, hope you'll find the time to stop by and join! Thanks again for all your help and inspiration.
