" It's the little things in life"...

That's how the saying goes right?
Well for me it is all about the little things in life!
and I love simple little embellishments!

Little embellishments, little color, little something, something here and there.
I bought this applique from Lowe's hardware for I believe around  $5.00. I knew my plan for it.
I was not sure what Mr. Doo's would think.  You know, he does have a say, and he is an interior designer {not really}but neither am I! who's askin' and who's checking?
That you never do know.
Anyhow, I painted the applique with some left over paint, {antique white/Glidden with primer}, and then I took my  cabinet color stain and went over it.

I thought, this space in front of the sink is a little plain ole!

"How does it look Mike"?

"Looks good Deb", you just have to center it"  Ok Mike, you have the eye!
Gotta schmooze him sometimes...you know how that goes...

Centered now!? "Yes looks good"!

I love that 3M tape btw..works wonders.

"It's the little things in life"
Speaking of little things...
psssst...don't tell anyone, but that little ivy plant in strainer...NOT so good, moving it outside and hoping to bring some life back to it.

may I ask- did you see embellishments longer than the one you used. I've decided the build my own bed , since I cant find one that suits me and that extra element would be great.. thanks~!

Debbie, I love your applique'. I've bought several of those from Lowe's and used them everywhere from the risers on the stairs, to actually placing the on the arched openings to other rooms. They really do add "just a little something"!

I love it, Debbie! I have one of those wood appliques and have wondered what I could do with it. This is such a great idea to add some interest to kitchen cabinets without doing anything major! I'll have to see if it works by my sink area, otherwise I'll be walking around the house holding it up to stuff. :)

Morning Debbie,
Great job, I think that lil addition was definitely the icing on the cupcake! : ) I was wondering where to go to buy these, so thanks for the info. Do you have a tutorial or list of products as to how you achieved that patina. Would look great on a corner cabinet for my bed room. As one of your Newbie followers, wanted you to know I'm trying to grow and started my first linky party today: Frugal Treasures Tuesday, hope you'll find the time to stop by and join! Thanks again for all your help and inspiration.

Hi there,

I love your blog. I am your newest follower. :)

I posted a comment on your Jan 17th post about newbie parties. I would love to be involved in one. I got your link from NanaDiana.

I began my personal blog on Oct 31, 2011 and have 34 followers. And my business blog after that and have 10 followers.

Could you please tell me how this works. I know it is written here but I guess I am so new that I don't quite understand it all. Sorry.

My blogs are:
http://throughthewoods2.blogspot.com and
http://bearcountryprimitives.blogspot.com

If you could go to the email image on the sidebar of the first one just about halfway down and email me the info that would be great. :)

Thanks Take care, Janet W
