Donna from
Funky junk interiors has really inspired me {and many others for that matter}
this past year. I never look at pallets, or rusty ole junk without thinking of her!
Well, she put her blog friends and readers to a challenge, and I was up for it...
well, no not really, I thought to myself, I have no clue on this one, and don't have the time to think these days! Nor do I work well under pressure.....
I THINK I played it too safe for DONNA! But I did try to think outside the box, hope that counts.
Well,the other morning while walking Lucy, I spied Mike's work area from our summer outdoor patio makeover.
{yes the poor guy worked in the woods, cutting and sawing}
His work area still sits there nestled in the woods.
I spy WOOD! I think Donna, the challenge, what can I do?
and this little guy thought the same thing, what is she doing?
this is where I was playing...
Then I started thinking about the upcoming Thanksgiving season...where family all gather's, spends happy times, happy memories together.
I am a bit of a NUT, in case you don't know that already.
My Mom and sister fly down every year to spend Thanksgiving with my family...
we sure do have some good times...and they are pretty NUTS too, so you can imagine the fun.
So how bout, I grab a piece of that wood, and do something special with it.
I stained it, using left over green and blue from our summer staining projects..as you can see it made a pretty blueish green.
It makes for a very cute centerpiece...where our family will gather, and create more memories.
So there you be! I did it and really enjoyed the challenge. Thanks Donna, for always inspiring!
